City of huge buildings and state of the art development especially we love the patronis tower and its out of this world not only this alot amusement parks which really attracts the kids. Also we love the food and it's very much economical.
My family and I stayed at StarPoints for 4 days. The staff was very polite and friendly and the rooms were clean. When I inquired about a care package/ flower delivery service in Malaysia, the front desk went to the extent of giving me URL's of a few service companies. One aspect that can be improved is breakfast. Even though it states that breakfast is served at 7 am, not all dishes were readily available at the buffet at that time and not all had clearly identifiable name cards. Being from Sri Lanka, we were not very familiar with the local dishes, and with a lactose intolerant sibling we faced a little difficulty at breakfast. The Hotel is located right next to the Haniffa Department Store, close to Mydin and on weekends there are many street vendors right outside the Hotel. It's about a 30 minute walk to China Town, and 10 minutes to the Masjid Jamek train stop (I'm still confused with the difference between MRT & LRT). The taxi takes about 15 RM to the twin towers and 20 RM back to the hotel, this depends on the taxi driver and your bargaining powers.
The hotel offers a very good location in the city center, very close to many of the KL’s attractions like Sultan Abdul Samad Building, KL tower, Sentral market or Petaling street (within 15-20 min walk). It is also easy to get from there to other parts of the city. Nearest LRT station is Masjid Jamek -10 min walk. Actually, it may take longer on the way there you will cross street market with all sort of clothing electronics and souvenirs. 200 yards away from the hotel is also located GOKL (free bus) red line bus stop (Colosseum stop). The hotel itself is nice and cozy, Room was spacious and well equipped, with superbly working air con. The bathroom was rather small but clean and had no hairdryer (to my wife’s despair). We had a nice view from our room, bed was large and very comfy. Free toiletries and bottled water were provided daily. However, the hotel would benefit from the refurbishment. Décor of the rooms and corridors is worn and dark. Despite hotel is no smoking place you can smell cigarettes in the corridors. The breakfast is served at Kebabbish restaurant on the 14th floor so you may enjoy your morning meal on the outside terrace. Occasionally we had to wait for the table as the restaurant was full. While part of the restaurant was closed with few tables available there. The biggest disappointment was their breakfast spread. Mainly Indian food was served, quite repetitive and some of the dishes were tasteless. The staff at the hotel was very kind and helpful. All our requests were attended immediately, thank you. There is a lot of little shops and local eateries located nearby. Burger King is also just around the corner. The Mustaffa convenience store is also located on the first few floors of the building. Each Saturday There is also a street market in front of the hotel. A small travel agency is also located in the lobby. They can arrange also arrange airport transfer for you if, needed. Rm120 per car during a day or RM150 during a night. All in all good stay an I would use this place again while staying in KL.
If you are an Indian travelling to Star points you will feel you entered some hotel in old Delhi. I don’t know how non-Indian would feel about it, simply coz I dint see any in one week. I dint see any non-Indian in 3 km radius of this hotel. Advantages – Great Breakfast spread with live counter Cheap rooms, cheap menu in restaurant. Good food but cost is super super low Excellent housekeeping, Front office staff. Very Very cordial Great location. 5 mins walk from Metro station (Masjid Jamek). 20 min walk to Twin Towers The travel guy in lobby (Abhishek) has got some really cheap deals for sightseeing. 1000-1200 RM for 2 will be enough to spend 5 days of sightseeing Saturday night market starts from hotel entrance Disadvantages Alcohol not sold in Hotel. (you buy it from ABC hotel -2 mins walk) No Smoking rooms. Smoking only on 14th floor They charge for early check-in. We reached at 9 am & waited for 3 hours for room. Hotel was empty, but I was asked 1800 RM for early check-in Saturday night market starts from hotel entrance Stayed from 9th-14Feb.
please send your email as the one in the site is not working. i want to visit in the month of may with my family and as such wanted to know if the superior room is big enough for 3 adults, the view from the room and room menu.
i stayed for 3 nights with my family...staff are very helpful.. they can guide everything nearby shopping malls..huge varities of breakfast at 14th floor and Rooms are very clean and neat ....washrooms are well maintained. i will recomend all my friends and family
About our stay: - 8 nights in a Superior Room with a King Bed and window (room 1010) - We've stayed in several 2.5 & 3 star hotels in Masjid India area but chose this hotel as we needed 24hr secure car parking - upon arrival (late check-in @ 10pm) staff happily & swiftly changed rooms due to toilet malfunction. Positives: * Fast check-in and check-out * Very spacious & tidy room with clean linen and towels * Comfy & firm bed * Professional and great customer service by staff. All our enquiries & needs were tended to swiftly during our stay * Excellent location - great nearby restaurants and shopping (adjacent to Hanifa Department Store) * Good working aircon :) * Prayer room on the 6th floor with massage chairs :) * Near the elevators on each floor, they have ironing station, a sofa and indoor plants. * Corridors were always tidy and no smokey smells like many other hotels. * Reception happily extended our check-out by an hour without extra charge as packing all our shopping into our suitcases took longer than expected :) Negatives: * No direct access to hotel from parking. You need to walk from behind the hotel where the car park entrance is located and around to the front entrance lobby. It is a bit of an inconvenience but you do get used to it and the friendly security guard escorts you to the hotel at night. * Housekeeping needs to be more consistent and thorough. Most days we had to call reception as something was missing or not re-filled (e.g one day it no toilet paper, the next day tea/coffee supplies weren't re-filled, another day they forgot to give us towels). Each time, the reception staff apologised and sent someone promptly to rectify the issue.
Neat, descent rooms, value for money, practical and spacious rooms, centrally located at Jalan Masjid India, very close to malls and all the important tourist locations of KL. Safe place, ideal for Indians, as lot of good Indian restaurants around , kl tower is near buy, personas is 3 kms away, even lot of good night outs like beach cafe and hard rock cafe are not far.
The hotel is around 15-20 min walk from the famous shopping hub viz. Chinatown Room was very spacious, clean & well maintained.Bathroom/Toilet was also very spacious, They have provided all the necessary things like water bottles , shower gel, shampoo, shaver. The room service is nice & buffet breakfast is also good. We definitely stay here next time.
I stayed last year with my family, the staff are friendly and greeted us with a smile. help us and all. food was great, and the surrounding are okay.. easy to find kedai mamak! HEHE and every weekend saturday and sunday there is a night market. easy to find local food there but just too crowded! but hey, what do you expect?? love it, will stay here next year in febuary again!
