Shangri-La Hotel - Kuala Lumpur

Room smelt like cigarettes, airconditioning compressor gets switched off in the night after 12:30am. This is common in hotels that are wired to a PIR sensor for movement, however compressor shutdown was hard programmed for this shangri-la and it didn't mater what I did the room was hot, stuffy and humid. No control panel VIP overide sequence! The staff admitted this is so they can reach their energy efficiency targets. Didn't sleep for 3 nights! Hotels are no longer about the people anymore, don't kid ourselves it's all about the bottom line, stronger net yearly profits and keeping the shareholders happy. I would not recommend this hotel. If you want a good night sleep, find yourself a 3-4 star hotel with a split AC with a floating remote that you can control your own sleep destiny.

Great location. Great amenities - Loved the Gym/fitness center. Good food. Enjoyed my stay!!

Great location, friendly staff, beautiful hotel, great view to the Petronas towers. You can get a room upgrade with small money to get to higher floor, free breakfast, afternoon coffee/tea and cocktails/snack. Free WIFI available in the room. Absolutely recommended.

Very good hotel the location is very good definitly i recomend

If you have never stayed in a Shangri-La hotel before, start here. This place is top of the line when it comes to luxury. The best part, is that the price is very reasonable. The hotel is very modern and pristine. From the moment you walk in the the staff is always smiling and assisting. The rooms are spotless and very comfortable. I will definitely stay there again. It has one of the best hotel gyms. It has all the equipment necessary to get a real work out.

Amazing hotel in a great location. Gym an pool facilities are phenomenal.

This is my second time staying at a Shangri-La hotel & I would highly recommend them. The service in the restaurants was excellent as was room service. The concierge was the best! He arranged a trip which turned out to be fabulous & transportation to to other locations. My room was spotless & the room staff were very efficient when I made special requests.

Great hotel, walking distance to the Petronas twin towers and some good restaurants.

We have been several times to Shangri La Hotels, this was not an exception, Great hotel! Great breakfast Buffet! Best Ever probably.... View of the PEtronas is not the best in town. You see them from 1 side, so you just see one of them. If you are into trendy and more modern hotels. try the TRADERS HOTEL, sister hotel to Shangri La. Has a front view of Petronas, and a very trendy SKY BAR. Shangri La is just 1 block from Petronas, so location wise for shopping is great.

As with most SL's, this was immaculate. Stayed in room 1313 and was asked nicely by the check in lady if that was alright. Double neg = positive, right? It was a corner room with a sliver view of the Petronas tower. Unfortunately a building was blocking the most of the view. Everything inside the room was clean and luxurious, but the pillow smelled like a wet dog. It was not strong enough to warrant a call to the front desk, but still a bit disgusting. The pool was smaller than expected, but was salt water based which was nice to the eyes. Gym was HUGE and the men's locker room had amenities you would expect from a private gym. Spent 30mins laying on the massage chair, then popped into the hot sauna, then steam room, then hot tub. Felt nice after a long day around KL. Other than the smelly pillow, the decor was a bit tired. I'm in my early 30's so maybe it didn't suit my taste. I didn't get a chance to try the restaurants, so can't comment there. Breakfast changeover is at 11am, so be mindful of that. 10min or less walking distance to Petronas Tower, which was convenient. And if you plan on going during F1/Easter, be prepared to pay a premium on EVERYTHING. Supply/Demand. Overall would love to stay again, given the comparison rates to other "five star" hotels around, this was by far the most affordable.

I travel all over the world extensively. This is my favorite hotel. The entire experience is wonderful. The food is outstanding. Try Lafite for lunch or dinner. Breakfast includes lots of food that anyone from anywhere in the world will enjoy.

The Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur is a very good hotel, very comfortable. The location is very good.
