Hotel is very old already. The whole bathroom has been repainted, including the floor, walls, shower, and even the bathtub. When I took a shower, a piece of paint peeled off the wall. The shower door doesn't seal well, so I stepped out onto a wet floor. The toilet literally takes 20 seconds to flush, and you have to hold down the flusher. Don't be surprised if you have to flush twice. The closet required a lot of strength to slide open. In the middle of the night, I could hear the aircon sensor hissing. I thought it was a leaky faucet or pipe. I had wanted to change rooms, but unfortunately I spoke with other people checked in, and they had the same problem. The only upside is that the location is excellent, and the staff were extremely kind and accommodating. I will never stay here again, unless they renovate.

This 4 star hotel is dated, mold can be found in the bathroom, and the swimming pool area just doesn't have that "vacation" feel. Otherwise the food was good, staff very helpful and friendly, and location was superb for the price. We chose this hotel because of the outside pool, but only spent 30 minutes at the pool...

Enjoy panoramic views from room window.A nice swimming pool.dedicated staff.a wide variety of food. Good discount for advanced booking.happy to have been upgraded twice Overall a worthwhile experience.

Location is good. Old and big hotel. Expensive. Breakfast buffet is really good.

WE had three rooms for six adults with breakfast included. On the last day we requested box breakfast since we had to leave at 6:00 am to catch a flight. We had a long conversation night before with Ms. Nazirah Azenan, Guest Service Manager. She insisted giving us an apple, a croissant and a box of orange juice. We requested bread and cheese along with that. She refused repeatedly. We suggested that since we had paid for the breakfast we should receive credit. WE requested to talk her supervisor Mr. Manimaran, the front office Manager. We were told that he is not available and we sent an email on that night but so far we have not heard back. To our surprise at the time of checkout there was no box breakfast for all of us. We still insist to receive credit for that morning (December 15, 2015) breakfast for all six of us. Hope to receive a prompt response. This was a very unpleasant experience. Please note that other staff were very professional and helpful except Ms. Azenan.

All was good cannot complain. Location and area is big for long stay.

The service at the hotel is top notch, but the rooms are pretty outdated. The carpeting is a little worn out and the bathroom fixtures having fading paint and hardened water stains. For the price though, it was outstanding.

Lobby is very impressive. The staff are amazing always smiling and helpful. Located right in the center of the city, close to shopping malls, transportation (monorail), restaurants, Bukit Bintang, china town and the famous Petronas Towers. Breakfast buffet has a wide array of dish including western, middle eastern, european, chinese and of course malay. It's not very pricey-good value for the money. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we will stay here again if ever we get the chance to visit again.

Arrived in KL early in the morning, booked to stay at the Club room. Very friendly and welcoming check-in at the 20th floor reception. Served complimentary breakfast at the adjacent club tearoom. Which also serve complimentary afternoon tea and evening drinks and nibbles. Have inadvertently prepaid breakfast for my stay, but the International breakfast served at the ground floor has substantial selections and an overall pleasant experience. Shopping and eateries at Bukit Bintang area is convenient 10 minutes walking distances.

We went to Malaysia for a quick tour and a gift to our 79 year old mother. It was an experience to remember forever. Istana is a great hotel. Very accessible to shops, dining as well as transportation. You can walk leisurely to these places. I certainly would book in this hotel on the next visit.
