Deluxe room is not very spacious but enuf for solo/couple travellers. We got 8th floor corner unit with some view of the kl & twin towers. We asked to change room cos we prefer bathtub & shower to be separate - we find it slippery to shower IN THE bathtub. Next day, we got 13th floor with better view of the towers, so the higher u go the better. Rooms are VERY clean & cosy! 👍🏼Wifi can be better though. Nothing fancy but we certainly had a pleasant trouble-free stay :)
Friendly, pleasant and welcoming staff. Checkin and checkout was breeze. Amazing city view from the rooms. Breakfast was amazing at this price. Rooms are comfortable and toilets are loaded with toiletries and good number of quality towels are provided. Just at front side of the hotel is a construction site but that does'nt matter much . Just few yards away is the rear entrance of a very big mall Sungie Wang. KK-Super mart and 7-11 marts are in the immediate vicinity.
Stayed for a couple of nights on way home from Bali. Fantastic location in centre of KL with great views of Petronas towers and KL Tower but the hotel was poor. Room had not been properly cleaned and had a rancid smell of smoke. Breakfast was not of an international standard, food was cold and staff were unhelpful. Despite this KL is a great city to visit and we spent very little time in the hotel.
I have stayed at the Capital for about ten days in February and again in March. The room I was given with the spectacular view of the city and Petronas towers is a big plus. The buffet breakfast is wonderful with a good mix of Asian and Western food. They happily make eggs to order. Of course you should not expect bacon in a Muslim country. The staff are friendly and helpful . My only reservation is about the thoroughness of the room cleaning. i believe this is because the housekeeping staff have far too much work and management should sort that.
I stayed two nights here at room 609. At the last day, which is today, the Room Service guy press the bell button twice and opened my door at 7 AM told me that I have to check out right now because the supervisor already give the check out card to them. Meanwhile I have the letter mentioned the check out time is 12.00 noon. Seriously?? Maybe it is normal in this hotel to wake up guest at early morning to ask them check out in rush at 7 AM!! FYI, I still have two sleep toddlers here. My husband got angry and called the front office but she said that the room service must be wrong room and there is no apologize word from everyone here. Oh capitol hotel, you have to learn more about customer service and how to treat your guest nicely.
The Capitol Hotel is a 3-star hotel situated in the older part of Kuala Lumpa but don’t let that worry you its ideally suited for the the local markets and shopping centres located around the area. The Hotel its self is a bit dated but don’t let that put you off the rooms are pleasant and clean and the staff helpful. The beds are comfortable and the shower decent no baths but then I don’t use them anyway. Outside the hotel is a bit of a building site but there again with the amount of building work going on in KL it’s not a surprise. Breakfast isn’t the greatest but there again you’re not in Britain so you can’t expect a full English. Our room on the 12th floor has great views over the city including the Petronas towers. Most places are within a walkable distance from the Hotel weather it’s the Petronas Towers or the China Town and India areas, plenty of food stalls around serving a variety of foods as you would expect just remember cleanliness in them is not as high as in the UK You shouldn’t be disappointed
From KL airport we took the Star shuttle picked up from the lower floor bus station area where they have their own ticket office. The shuttle is actually a large, clean, airconditioned coach and the driver asks your hotel and drops you off at the nearest accessable point - in this case the front of Capitol Hotel. The price was minimal and a small fraction of the taxi fare. The location was great, a road just off one of the main thoroughfares, but quiet. We were minutes from both Imbi and Bukit Bintang monorail stations and the train station was walking distance. We were about 5 minutes walk to one of the stops for three of the four free bus routes (an excellent service covering the major sites and services in the city). Plaza Low Yat, a teccie's dream was almost opposite and the usual big shopping malls easily reached. Perhaps best of all, we were really near Jalan Allor THE food street - so much wonderful and incredibly cheap food served at tables set out in the street - not quite street food, but neither quite restaurant. (No problem with buying alcohol anywhere we ate.) Our room was just clean enough, but there were some issues, like grubby lampshades and stained carpet, which couldn't have been rectified on a normal cleaning rota and needed replacing. Bedding was spotless, bed comfortable and bathroom was clean which was our priority. The room had an iron and ironing board, safe and tea/coffee making facility as well as a fridge (which I'd personally only keep bottles in). We had a bath as well as shower, constant hot water and more than efficient air conditioning. On the 10th floor and at the rear of the hotel, we had a clear view of the Petronius Towers, though the immediate view was of two large building sites. If the buildings which go up are as high as lots of those in KL, the view from the hotel may become very different. We really enjoyed our breakfasts, a mix of Malasian food and a version of Western (less pork products). It was nice to have the opportunity to sample small tastes of new dishes and we never left hungry. Customer service was really very good. I had a most helpful reply to an email question I sent before arrival, regarding the Thaipusan festival and its public holiday on the day we were due, and staff were equally willing to assist with any information we wanted whilst there. (One young gentleman on reception even used his own mobile phone to contact a restaurant we wanted to book before handing it over to my companion.) We had just over 3 days in KL, so spent very little time in our room, and this hotel suited us perfectly well - and we would return. For a longer stay though, I would probably look elsewhere.
We booked the hotel through travel agent, as part of package deal. Our first time to KL, the location is convenient and center enough to be able to walk to few malls around the area. Our room was probably on the "older side" of the property. While it was decent size and quite roomy, and has big window looking out to construction next door, it has seen better days to say the least, The lobby is quite small and always crowded with people. The concierge was courteous but not very knowledgeable about what areas to visit for first time visitors. Probably most of their clientele are business travelers. Breakfast was considered limited, but decent and it is included in the room rate, so no complain there. Over all, it was an ok stay.
We are just back from the Capitol hotel. This was part of a package with the travel agent. The hotel is very well positioned in the city. It is a 5 minute walk to the Bukit Bintang monorail and all the shopping centres within minutes walk as well as Jan Alor St food market. The check inn was quick. The staff at the front desk very helpful at all times helping with various questions. Breakfasts were good. We had a corner room with views of the both towers I would recommend to stay here at any time.
Stayed at the Capitol Hotel from 10th January to 19th January, the hotel is in the Bukit Bintang area with lots of eateries and bars around also great for shopping with several shopping malls in walking distance. Our room was on the 18th floor, WOW what a view I have never had a view like that before, with KL Tower and Petronas Towers right in front of us, thank you Thomas the manager for our room. The room was quiet, large with TV, mini bar, kettle etc. and toiletries in bathroom. We were on B&B and the breakfast was good with plenty of choice. We also ate in the hotel restaurant a few times in the evening, the food was excellent and very reasonable also the drinks were cheaper than other places. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and arranged our taxi back to the airport which was less than we paid when we arrived. We used the swimming pool most days at the hotels sister hotel the Federal which is just a couple of minutes walk away, it's a lovely big pool and they supply towels for you to use. Can't wait to return to the Capitol. Well done to Thomas and his staff.
