I loved my stay at the Else and highly recommend it to anyone visiting KL. It was the perfect boutique hotel experience. The service was impeccable and the hotel was beautifully curated - it had a lovely library, unique art work and luxe bathroom toiletries. I found the location very convenient as well. If you are a light sleeper I would recommend you book a room that overlooks the pool. My room faced the street and it was quite loud due to night time activities.

We enjoyed the location and short walk petaling street, central market and MRT station. Breakfast is really great we get to try different variety and is fresh made to order. Will definitely consider staying again for future visit.

Excellent experience. From check in where we were greeted with cold tea, very clean rooms though on small size (as advertised on the room description) beautiful design and materials. Very attentive staff. Great location near central market and temples in Chinatown. Lively area. Our corner room looked out over the intersection. Amenities including gym were very high quality. Restaurant was great as well.

Beautiful design but potentially noisy

Beautifully renovated and well located for chinatown. Liked the bar and breakfast. Didn't like that there were road construction works at 1am and when we complained, there was no apology, plus we had to demand a different room to sleep in because of the noise and the ground was vibrating!

Nicely designed but sound proofing was poor

Room size was good, design was great but soundproofing was not. The one night we were there, the road was being re-laid after midnight! The construction noise felt like it was in the room. We reported this and had no apology from the night staff, but we were granted a room move when we requested. Would have appreciated an acknowledgement of the disruption.

Fantastic Modern hotel in China Town.

The hotel is a brutalist conversion of the old Lee Rubber building. the staff are fantastic and the rooms are large and modern. the bathrooms were a good size with huge shower. it was lacking wardrobe space, and the toilet was separate with a glazed wall, which if used at night lit up the whole room. the swimming pool was a good size with a great wine bar on the same level. The hotel restaurant was very good, but full of instagram wannabees. it seemed that most people turned up with large bunches of flowers and just wanted to take photos of food/flowers/themselves rather than eating. Good location, easy walking to the main sites of china town.

I was truly impressed with the exceptional service at this hotel, especially with the complimentary upgrade I received upon arrival. From the moment I stepped in, the staff went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. The room was immaculate, exuding a delightful fragrance, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring restful nights. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the handwritten welcome note on the bed and a soothing chamomile note left at night. Every time I left the hotel, a friendly security staff member opened the door for me, even assisting with my luggage upon arrival. The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious, and I must give a special shout-out to Brenda, who provided outstanding table service throughout my meals. The breakfast options were varied and tasty, making mornings a delight. Additionally, the outdoor pool was impeccably clean and offered plenty of seating options for relaxation. Overall, I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again!

Just excellent in every way

Just a short walk from Pasar Seni station (itself only 1 stop from KL Sentral) it's in an excellent location - Central Market is across the road, Petaling Street even closer. Merdeka 118 being so close was a surprise. Being right on the edge of Chinatown you are spoilt for choice when it comes to food, and there are many hidden speakeasy bars. The hotel is beautifully restored; we had an Urban room which was spacious and very comfortable. All the staff are polite and friendly. Special mentions to Brenda and Ki Ki in Raw restaurant (the rest of restaurant and breakfast staff were excellent, but nobody wore name badges). The good in Raw is delicious - breakfast portions are very generous, dinner was delicious. There is a good pool area, though the method of ordering poolside snacks/drinks is a little clumsy. Overall, an excellent stay. Highly recommended.
