We had a great time here in April 2017.. We stayed for 3 nights overlooking the beach. Amazing staff. Great Food, very clean.. Highly recommend spa - great for a scrub before tanning on the fantastic beach.. (with cocktail in hand) or enjoying watersports!! Best hotel we have ever stayed in.. We will definitely return in the future.
The entire journey from Krabi Town (our pick up) to the hotel took about 2 hours plus but everything was a breeze. We were treated like royalties and do not need to bother with our bags right from pick up. Booking was prepaid via Agoda and no deposit was required upon check in, which was a sweet surprise as normally big hotels require a deposit. Also we got a free upgrade which sweetened the whole deal. Most of the guests would prefer to relax at the pool but do give the beach area a go as the guys working there are really awesome. In fact, all the staff working there are just fantastic, nothing is too much of a hassle for them. My aircon started making some weird noises at 4am in the morning and the technician came within minutes with a smiling face. Some reviews complained of insects and noises but do remember this is their natural habitat. We are the invaders, not them. I never like much noise disturbance but found the frogs croaking away with sound of waves crashing very soothing and relaxing. Take the effort to travel here because it's worth it, no regrets.
I and my family stayed in this hotel 3 times already. This trip we booked 3 nights and it was pleasant stay. The service is great and the room is nice. However, this trip my 6-year-old son was a bit upset as the kid's club was moved and not opened for service. Beach bar was on renovation which made us to go further if we want to access to the beach.
WOW WOW WOW!!!! My partner surprised me by booking the Two-Bedroom Pool Villa. I have never felt so relaxed. It was absolute dream staying here, the villa, pools, the views, restaurants/breakfast, the staff and the spa.....INCREDIBLE!!! I could not fault it. We will definitely be back without a doubt!
Prior to my stay at Pimalai I spent a week at another hotel. A hotel that I could not fault. It ticked all the boxes & I would give it a 10 out of 10. Pimalai I would rate a 20 out of 10! It's not only that all your needs are met - it's that Pimalai surpasses your expectations in every aspect. All the sights, sounds, scents - all your senses are charmed. Before I had even left my previous hotel Pimalai staff had contacted my hotel to organise my late check out time & confirm their cars collection time. The variety of restaurants & cuisine available would satisfy the fussiest palate. All meals (including the complimentary breakfast) were delicious & plentiful. I enjoyed a 3hr spa treatment in my own private indoor/outdoor area & this was one of the highlights of my vacation. Best Spa treatment ever. So relaxing & indulgent. Anyone considering a treatment at the spa - don't even think about it - just book! You will not regret it. There are so many diverse areas within the Pimalai grounds (jungle forest paths, beach, various restaurants/bars, vegetable garden, spa, 2 pool areas etc etc) that you could spend a week there enjoying a variety of sights/locations & not need to leave. If you are looking for a relaxing, inspiring, indulgent peaceful vacation than I would recommend Pimalai! I'm already looking forward to my next trip back!
The transfer service was flawless, enjoyable and almost a tour in itself. I would recommend this resort to people who want peace and relaxation, this is not the place to party the night away. If like me you are happy to relax, drink cocktails and soak up the fantastic views this is the place for you. I must commend all the staff on their attention to detail especially the trainee staff, they put so much effort into making everything perfect. Every meal we had there was delicious. We stayed in the beach side villa which was exceptionally large and clean. I have traveled all over the world and I really can't see how anyone could complain about this extraordinary place. If I ever win the lottery, I'll be back!
The deluxe rooms are very nice and close to the beach, highly recommended. Hotel staff is very warm. Food is good, but nothing exceptional mostly. Few of the dishes were very good. The property itself is very nice and scenic. Lots of good restaurants around and its a delight to relax here. The spa is very good and highly recommended. The main pool is also very nice and scenic, children enjoy the mini waterfall created in it. However, the pest management of the resort is poor. We stayed at a 3 bedroom villa later on and were shocked to see close to 30-40 lizards in our villa by the evening everyday. They were all over the walls, doors, ceilings, tables, floor, falling on us. It was a disgusting sight and the children were scared to move around. At night, they would all make some noises which was disturbing, scary and we would wake up as it was very loud. We did bring this up with the hotel management and we were told that since they are close to a forest and it was monsoon, this was unavoidable. I agree that usually resorts located in such an area would face this menace, but I've been to many forest resorts located in much deeper jungles and they do something to reduce the menace. Here, the lizards and insects had an open go. We also noticed a lot of dead insects and grasshoppers, etc. in our villa pool while we were training for deep sea diving. Surprisingly, these insects were not visible to the naked eye and we were taking our kids to the pool regularly, but with the diving masks and glasses, these were clearly visible and shocking. Once at the main pool, we spotted a live shrimp in the pool. Another disappointment with the 3 bedroom villa was them charging us extra for every child and the nanny. We booked the villa as we had a nanny with us, and the villa had a separate maid's room, beyond the 3 bedrooms. In their deluxe rooms, they usually allow a child with 2 adults, but in the 3 bedroom villa they charged extra for the nanny and children which was not communicated to us when we booked and informed them of the total occupants arriving. However, I would say these were insignificant issues, and the overall experience at the property was wonderful. The team was very warm and did everything they could to make our stay very comfortable. At times, their housekeeping experts would catch lizards by hand and take them away to comfort us, but there's only so many a person can catch, when the supply is unlimited. I also have to mention that we were a large family with 6 adults and 3 children/infants and many bags. It was a delightful experience at the airport and transfers as the staff were very helpful and helped us with every little thing to make it comfortable. At the airport, they helped us even scan our bags and check in quickly which would have taken much longer and more effort if we were on our own. We truly experienced the Thai warmth and hospitality at Pimalai. Airport transfers were very smooth.
We spent 6 nights at Pimalai Villa 905 ..... the experience was amazing. We were collected at Krabi airport and the transfer via road and water was excellent. General Manager Franck (a delightful French man) met us on arrival and we were efficiently transferred to our villa with bottled water, chilled towels and a welcome beverage. The villa was beautiful, typical Thai, very spacious, we had a living area with kitchen facilities and a separate bedroom, bathroom. The infinity pool was the highlight for us with a beautiful partial view of the resort and vista across the green trees through to the bay. Breakfast at Seven Seas was excellent and extensive catering for all cuisines. After happy hour watching the sun set, we ate at Seven Seas restaurant for dinner each evening, great a la carte menu, imported meat exceptional quality and extensive wine list. The Staff at Pimalai are amazing, so attentive and kind. My husband and I had the best time and thank everyone for contributing to our wonderful relaxing holiday.
Nice room nice beach nice facility that you would expect in a five star resort. But what really stood out was the staff and people throughout the resort. They watch out for you, they predict what you wanted and be a step ahead to be of your service. When we left the resort to stay a few nights at Ao Nang beach, we immediately could compare the difference between the nice smiley people in koh lanta and Pimalai specifically and the people at Ao nang. Our adult kids truly miss Pimalai and wish we could stay there longer. The food at breakfast was good, the dinner at their restaurant was of high quality and reasonable if you compare to prices of regular lunches in the US. For example, dishes between 275-350 B for seafood fried rice or pad thai and very filling. The only thing is it the resort is so quiet and isolated, good for honeymooners and people looking for quality time away from stress amongst fragrant plumeria, water monitors, singing cicadas and nasty mosquitoes. Bring citronella spray and HC 1% Cream. The airport service included in the room rate was also top service very personal and they made sure we reach our destination , every step of the way. We left with very very good feeling and appreciation, unlike any where else we have stayed before. I wish I could tip every single staff there but definitely we would go broke if we did since we could not find any staff not nice nor helpful The only complaint is we have 3 adult children and the extra bed for about $100 a night was short and did not fit my 5'10 son comfortably. But this could be forgiven considering all other positive factors. And the ride from airport was long:2 hours via car, speedboat and car again. But they made it so personal and comfortable we could not complain!!!!
