Great place to unwind, very quiet and laid back, stunning view on the small island in from of the hotel, which you can go to on foot at low tide. It's a small resort but never felt crowded although there were quite a few guests. There are several meal options around, going on the street or directly on the beach. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices for food, spa, activities. The resort offers a complimentary shuttle to Aonang main street and to Krabi town walking street on selected days. We were upgraded to a pool villa with 2 bedrooms and a living room, I am very grateful for this because this gave us a sea view (most of the rooms don't have it) and appreciated additional features. The resort could do with some maintenance and room refreshment (opened in 2004) but overall it was a really nice place. Don't be put off by the lobby that looks a bit dusty and lifeless: the best lies beyond the stairs going down.... if you don't like stairs then don't choose this resort!
We stayed for 3 nights 4 days in the Jacuzzi villa. Excellent property and warm staff make you relax and make the best of your holiday! They even have a shuttle for Walking street at 5 PM on Friday, sat & Sun.
The staff is so nice, we lost our luggage and she track for us for 2 days, finally we got them in the last day. Such friendly people love her : ) 非常好的體驗，每一個員工的親切微笑與無微不至的服務讓我們的喀比行特别的印象深刻，此次遇到行李寄丢的事情，也是靠Kwan幫我們連續追踪了二天才追到，感謝她讓我們看到泰國貼心服務業的極致表現，現在心中還是充滿了感恩 地點離奥南有一段距離，但不損我對於NAKAMANDA 的高評價
I went to Krabi for a short leave with my wife to escape from hot Doha. As all places in Thailand the staff is really friendly and provide a good experience in all aspects. I strongly recommend this place for all who think to come to Krabi, it worth a lot, nice beach, nice pool ,nice thai food. Thank you
I've been to Thailand many times, but this time was by far the most eventful. From the extraordinary welcome of the Nakamanda staff for our anniversary (bed of flowers in shape of heart) to the local Ao Nang Longtail Boat Seafood serenading us to an anniversary dessert, the hospitality was second to none! Krabi is a great jumping off point for diving and that's what we did. If you like $10/hour massages on the beach, great food, relaxing beach resort atmosphere, and amazingly friendly people (the Nakamanda staff are truly lovely people - I cannot wait to see them again), then go to Nakamanda. It does not hurt that we went off-season and got an excellent deal but either way we'd go back. Breakfast, pool, fitness center all pleasant and adequate. Free shuttle to Ao Nang and Krabi is a must since Nakamanda is a bit out of the way. Could be more than once a day though for options. Overall a solid A and 5 stars. Picture of sea snail below was taken by my child 18 metres below as part of Dove shop. Recommend Kon-tiki in downtown AoNang.
The most beautiful place we've ever been to. The personal is absolutely amazing and friendly and they do maximum to make you feel comfortable. I would like to say specifically thank you to Lik and Vee for their friendly approach and recommendations and also to Tee for his help with umbrellas and also to Ben for her smile during the breakfasts. Tomorrow we are leaving and I feel that part of me will be still here with you. Hope to see you soon Kapunkaaaaaap ;)
It's a quiet and comfort resort with friendly staffs. Just a bit far from the Krabi city center and the first night hotel provided a free shuttle service to the night market. There were not so many choices at breakfast but it's ok. In total , it's a lovely resort！
I was at the Nakamanda resort for 3 nights. It is a small resort with maybe 40 units. I think the standard ones are on the upper floor of the bungalows and the lower floor units have a Jacuzzi as well which was what I had. There is only a small price difference. There are a few larger options as well but the rooms are sufficient, maybe 30 m2 for the sleeping room and equally much for the bath room. Very nice, classic-Thai layout, beautiful and comfortable. Jacuzzi is also very pleasant. No sea view ,though (Only very few units have it). The whole property has not very much space and as a consequence everything is connected with a multitude of stairs in a clever way. Swimming pool beautiful and large (some commented about the tiles looking old but this is a small visual issue only). One highlight: the kitchen (name of the restaurant). Extremely good and friendly service and excellent food, very reasonable prices for drinks and food. Guest relations a bit on the rough side given the quality of everything else: (a) Person showing the room at check in a bit in a hurry (b) When I asked for a late check-out I was answered 'but we already gave you an upgrade'. Maybe a misunderstanding and I could check out 2 houre late but could be improved :) (c) Nobody asked if I liked the place or if I had any comments about the stay when I paid the bill. Beach: Visually very beautiful with the island hust in front of the hotel. The water under the surface is full f stones, though and for swimming one shoud wear shoes and go to the left or the right of the hotel. Many beach restaurants between Nakamanda and near the Sofitel. Perfect location with respect to the lime-stone islands. Koh hong is only 20 min by longtail boat. 3 hours to the islands are 2-3 thousand bath, depending one the distance. Fazit: Maybe the nicest place around in that aera before Tub Kaek beach.
The Nakamanda was fun filled holiday for us . Fabulous rooms, huge bathrooms, lovely terraces and a beautiful setting . Nakamanda is a hotel for people looking for exclusive luxury services . The long stretch of beach along the cost , the tweeting and chirping of birds and the lush vegetation just outside our villa was very relaxing. The service is excellent throughout the resort and there were lots of nice touches that made our stay memorable. We took this holiday to celebrate our daughters 4th birthday . She had a fabulous time playing on the beach and their big pool. She also got a birthday cake and a surprise gift on her birthday making it so special for her.The staff were very friendly and they took all efforts to make you holiday a fabulous one. Ms Soi and her team are excellent .
My husband and I recently spent one night at the Nakamanda Resort and Spa, in order to get away from the hustle and bustle of a couple busy work weeks. Nakamanda definitely gave us the relaxing 2 days and 1 night we were looking for. STAFF: I have to give a big shoutout to ALL the staff members of the resort. From the parking attendant, check-in staff, restaurant/bar staff, all the way to the cleaning staff, and the maintenance crew, all were beyond friendly, always saying hello with a smile no matter where you were in the resort. ROOM: The room was very clean and spacious. The one thing I did notice was that our room had a musty smell for the first few hours upon arrival. It wasn't bad enough for me to ask to be moved to another room but it was something that caught my attention the first few times we entered the room. The towels were very soft, and the bed was firm but not too hard. The curtains weren't blackout, and there was no coffee maker in the room. However, there was a kettle for tea, and 4 bottles of complimentary water were included (which is double of what many resorts around Thailand offer). I enjoyed the fresh fruit that was wrapped and waiting in the room upon arrival. PROPERTY: The grounds were very clean as well. They were renovating the room below our room, which one would not have known until construction started just after 8:00am. This was a negative for us, as my husband was hoping to sleep in longer that morning. However, it was a quiet resort in general (during this time of year anyways). POOL/BEACH: The pool was large, a great temperature and very clean. The staff helped set up an umbrella for you as needed. Several lounge chairs were available, facing both the pool and water. The location of the beach being in a little inlet was pretty neat as you felt completely secluded to other resorts. If choosing to walk the beach, walk left as garbage quickly covers the beach to the right. It's worth mentioning that the beach isn't a "lounging beach" as there are no good places to sit/lay. When the tide is low, you can walk a fair ways out, but when it's high, there isn't much beach to enjoy. If you're wanting to take a long-boat ride, they are parked right near the resort, making it easy to do just that. To help make the pool environment more enjoyable, I'd suggest adding some music. Not only would it help make the place seem a little less dead, but it would help drown out the long-boat motors as they're coming in and out of the inlet. RESTAURANT: The breakfast buffet had a nice selection. The egg bar had great omelettes and prepared hard-boiled eggs. Being that I have celiac disease, and therefore must eat gluten free, I was easily filled up with eggs, fruit and veggies. My husband specifically loved the cappuccinos that were included, made fresh to order. We did try the restaurant for lunch, the day of our arrival. The curry that my husband had was quite basic, but I did enjoy my salad (it was like a chef's salad). When I showed my gluten-free restaurant card to the server, I appreciated that she wrote down notes as to what I could not have, made sure my meal was as I requested, and also put my allergy notes in our room file so that if we planned to eat there again, the servers and chefs would know. For any travelling celiac, you'll understand how much I loved this! Just a quick heads up for visitors with mobility difficulties. This resort is built on a hill, and therefore, you must take several flights of stairs to go down to the spa, restaurant, pool and beach. This would be difficult for senior citizens, and anyone who finds stairs concerning. Also, if wanting to go to Ao Nang beach, there is a shuttle that will take you there; however, only on certain days. This was a bit of a disappointment for us as weekends were not included in the shuttle schedule. Overall, we really enjoyed our quiet, relaxing stay :)
