We stayed in the bungalows and liked it really much. Hotel is situated in the main street of Ao Nang, but still you feel like you are in the middle of a Jungle. There is a beautiful and very well maintained garden and the actual forest and hills are also right next to the hotel. We almost always saw some kind of animal, whenever we stepped out to the garden. Like big lizard things, monkeys, birds, butterflies, squirrel. We even saw a baby snake one time (not dangerous kind). I would recommend staying in the bungalows to have the jungle feel. The deluxe rooms are just regular hotel rooms which you can get anywhere. PROs - Staff is really polite, professional and helpful - breakfast is good - nice garden, with some wildlife - beach is 5 minute walk - good wifi even in the bungalows CONs- Drying rack would have been nice, there is nothing you can put your wet clothes / towels on. Also humidity is so high that everything feels wet all the time.
My time was wonderful at this hotel until this Sunday when from 16.00 the peace was destroyed by loud music coming from the hotel itself directly under my room and its still playing!! Too loud even with ear plugs in. Glad im leaving tomorrow
Krabi Tipa Resort spreads itself across the side of a jungle clad mountain. Situated in the main street of Ao Nang, off the street, on the high side, not on the beach side. A five-minute walk to the beach. It has distinctive azure blue roof tiles, with many of the main buildings having the traditional Thai high steep gabled roofs. Outside in the immediate vicinity there are convenience shops, restaurants, take-a-ways, pharmacies, ATMs, travel shops, massage places and souvenir shops. I stayed in a Teak bungalow. I did not realise when I booked that the bungalows are twins with a small railing on the front veranda separating them. My next-door bungalow was not occupied, but with woven palm matting walls I don’t how the privacy thing would be!! The twin bungalows are spread out on the hill, along a garden path way, a bit of a walk from the front desk but if you don’t want to walk there is an electric/golf cart service at the front desk particularly if you have luggage. The bungalow was rustic, simple, clean, quiet, a small veranda overlooking back into the hillside clad jungle and gardens. Facilities; tea/coffee, fridge, flat screen TV, hairdryer, windows had mosquito mesh, comfortable bed. Did not use Wi-Fi as I find it far easier to buy a local sims card. The bathroom was added on to the back of the little huts simple & clean. Quite happy where I was. The following morning to my surprise I was offered a free upgrade to a room just above the swimming pool. I accepted. A whole new hotel, with stunning views out across the top of trees to the bay, beautifully presented, small veranda, luxurious bed and bathroom with all conveniences. There is plenty of parking if you are arriving by car or bike. The swimming pool is small but adequate. The breakfast buffet was similar to most places I have stayed in Thailand, juices, fruit, eggs, toast, with lots of rice and noodle stir-fries, tea/coffee. There is a tourist desk, small bar in the foyer and a massage service. Contrary to other reviews I found the staff delightful and would like to thank them so much for the upgrade that has never happened to me anywhere in the world before.
Great and clean resort! Most friendly people at the resort and they will help you with anything! Breakfast was good and enough choice. Their restaurant offers good meals against fair prices. Close to restaurants, shops and the beach. Good value for money.
stayed here in may. stayed one of the bungalows witch are on a hill so bit of a walk if your not good on your feet. rooms were clean and would definitely go back. breakfast was ok and the have a nice restaurant at the front of the hotel. staff are very helpful and will book day trips for you. the hotel is very close to the beach and over restaurants. would recommend this hotel.
In terms of Stay in Hotel, comfortable Atmosphere and Friendly service is always a necessity when you travel overseas. Krabi Tipa resort falls perfectly well into it. Situated at the busy Ao Nang road and Sea beach at its close proximity makes this hotel or you can call it Resort a best place to stay. I was there for 3 nights (7th Sep till 10th Sep) with my family and had a very comfortable stay. Pros: Friendly Staff & Service, Nice & Clean Rooms, Near to Beach and lot of nice restaurants near by. Reasonable prices and worth for a cost. Cons: Breakfast (can have more food options), Pool Facilities, Limited food options where their main restaurants The Sea was closed. All in all thumbs up and will surely look forward to see you again.
Beautiful colonial and quaint design hotel. Quiet and peaceful despite in the middle of the main shopping street. Convenient as eateries, shopping, massage parlour, pharmacy and 7 11 are just outside the hotel. Room was spacious and clean and housekeeping keep it clean daily. Great to come back and wake up to the sound of nature and trees around the place. Breakfast was great and the most relaxing breakfast ever. Receptionists were polite and helpful.
The most valuable thing when u go into a hotel is to feel at home and if u want to feel that don't go to Tipa. The place is amazing in the middle of the jungle, the rooms are good, nice pool and good breakfast. But there are some little details than don't allow u to feel comfortable, for example there's a list on the room with the number of towels, sheets ... and when u check out the make u wait till they count everything also we need to phone to a local number because of a problem with the inmigration card and they want to charge the call to our room... so hotel ok, service strange...
Fancy staying in a hotel in the midst of a forestry view? Then this is a place for you. We stayed in the Teak Bungalow which is a bit rustic but nice & private. Perched in a slightly hilly walk (but not as bad as what i' ve read in others review), its still near the main lobby, pool, mini gym & restaurant. Dont feel that you need a buggy except if you have lots of luggage. Path to room is well lighted at nite. Clean place. Bungalows has a nice veranda to relax, flat tv with hbo station, hair dryer, tea coffee facilities, bed mosquito netting, fridge but no bath tub. Wifi has reasonable speed. Hardly any mosquitos, but advisable to keep door close especially at night. Buffet is reasonably ok but not awesome. Pool a bit small but clean, small gym, pleasant staff. There are some drainage construction work going on but doesnt seem to bother us as they are not so loud. Ample parking for cars. We arrived by big motor bike & it seems the hotel is not a big bike friendly one as there seems to be no designated place for big bike parking. Conflicting directive from security & check in staff on where to park though there are ample space around with few cars.
