The good: The location is pretty good since you can walk to bars, shops, and the beach where you will get the longboats to Railay Beach. The a/c in the rooms was very strong. The bad: The rooms were pretty bad. We had 2 rooms booked and changed immediately to another 2 rooms once we saw what we were getting. It was not much of an improvement at all besides the severe mildew smell in the first one was not present in the second one. The worst part was the beds were the hardest most uncomfortable beds I had ever experienced. I might have well been sleeping on a concrete block. Except that may have even been better because the springs from our mattresses (there were 4 of us so this is likely to be ALL beds in the hotel) had springs poking through the hard mattress. I can't even believe they sell mattresses like that. The rooms were very dirty and the bathrooms was just downright gross (and small). Not to mention they did not give you toilet paper or clean the room while we were there even though we asked them to. Oh and the WiFi pretty much never worked. We were not happy with this stay.
Actual bedroom was fine but the bathrooms in the room and in the lobby/ pool needs serious renovation in terms of decor and usability ( shower is nice and warm but toilet flush could be stronger ) and the General decoration needs to be seriously overhauled if they want to get repeat business or better ratings. Was happy with the friendly and helpfulness of staff and management but if you are a demanding tourist or wants a comfortable stay and aesthetic is important to you aswell as convenience, then do so some more research. If nightlife and convenience to the beach and restaurants is important to you then this place is perfect.
We wanted a place near to the beach just before new year, and booked this place last-minute. It wasn't perfect but considering the late booking and lack of choice due to the time of year, we were happy with our stay. We had a mountain view room at the back (would recommend this as the rooms facing the front would have been quite noisy in the evening), which was spacious and had everything we needed. The shower was hot, everything was clean and there was a nice little balcony. The pool looked so-so although we didn't use it. Breakfast was simple but fine, with eggs cooked to order and toast, fruit etc. The air conditioning in our room did not have a remote control (only an on-off button) and the staff couldn't provide one, although they were very apologetic. They did offer us a different room for the second night of our stay, but we chose not to bother as we only stayed 2 nights. The best thing about the hotel is the location, right on the main strip and 2mins walk to the beach which was important to us. Would give 3 1/2 stars if I could, but will be generous and give 4!
2 minutes to the beach. Very many restaurant near and bars but the voice is not overcoming in the room which is nice. Room is normal and air conditioner good. In the pool you can chill because there is not many people. We did'nt like that local taxi take us to this place and they try to take us too much money when normal price is more than 500baht less to stay night. Be careful about the prices!
The Palace Aonong beach Thailand I felt ripped off. The quality of the hotel is not what is portrayed in the brochure. On the negative side, I could not find the entry/reception initially as its hidden, the safe didn't work, I had to ask for a towel and the wifi was intermittent. On the positive side, it is close to the beach, the room was large and there were no bugs. I feel it wouldn't take a lot of time or money to make this a good hotel. The reception needs to be renovated to look like a hotel reception area. If I was walking down the street looking for a nice hotel I would totally miss the entry. The ensuite is big but need a total renovation job. The room is in good condition, just need to update the decor (make it tropical not a decal of Paris), add some furniture like a desk, dinning table or lounge, purchase good Manchester (the towels were threadbare and sheets were stained) and make the balcony more appealing.
I warn you never to stay at this hotel as its the worst ive stayed at in Thailand, well we never stayed,we lefted and found another hotel,i booked 3 deluxe rooms with breakfast..On arrival we got to the repection if that's what you call it,i call it a large desk, the girl was nice but only wanted one passport and every other hotel ask for them all, then we are given our room keys and after I had send them email when I booked and later on before we arrive as I have a sore back and if no lifts please put me on the 1st floor,of which they gave me the 4th floor,no problem she changed it to the 2nd floor as the 1st floor is reception,so two flights up to the 2nd floor and I said ok as we only staying for 3 nights. no offer to show our rooms or help with the bags,so I ask the girl and once again no problem, next cames two older ladies all smiles and very nice,we got to our rooms just wanting that to get the air cond on as it was so hot,we walked in and omg and that's putting it nice, the air cond blew warm air out, walked out to the balcony and could be a nice view of the pool and background that's is they remove the rubbish on the tin roof beneth us,and if you wanted to sit on the balcony, one window with a non sun block out, curtain and the window so dirty.no power points near the bed,one side table near the bed, then my poor friends came in and the look on there faces was enough, then the other couple came and said omg our room is worst than this.my hubby went down and ask are we in deluxe rooms and yes we are, then the ladies came and gave us aroll of toilet paper,no toilet paper at all,the gaps in the doors where enough for my friend as she said I don't feel safe to stay here at all,no phone at all in the room, could hear people in room next to us,my hubby went down to ask to get the air conds working, the man came and gave them a bang and smile and said working, well we were in the room for at least another hour looking up other places to stay and our hubbys went and had alook at the hotel just case.the air conds only made the heat worst as my poor son vomited.off we go and handed keys in and I said to the girl, this place is the worst and what we found wrong abot the rooms and that my poor son vomited because of the heat in the room, and banging didn't make it work.well off to the next hotel 5 mins away and paid less plus with breakfast in a deluxe room was walking into a palace.the name of the hotel is Vivid hotel aonang.krabi.
I stayed in this hotel for two nights and the pictures provided in the website is different from the reality. The room is clean but the mattress was so hard for sleep. my room was in the 3rd floor and no lift. comparing the price that i had to pay, I would rethink to stay back in this hotel. However, the location is great and easy to find foods.
Stayed here for one night. Very dated hotel, didn't look as if this hotel had ever been updated since it was built. Rude staff, dirty, ants on the stairs on the way up to room. When we got to our room it was relatively clean, door going out to balcony had one inch gap above door which was an issue for noise and insects...had to block up with a towel. Went for a shower, blocked plug hole lead to flooded bathroom. Would not stay again. Only stay here if you really need to!!
The pictures are extremely different from reality. Dirty, the water stay in the shower, the toilet don't flash, very bad smell in the room, small and full with chlorine swimming pool, old and dirty towels
My friend and I traveled to Ao Nang for 10 days mainly to lay on the beach and relax. We are college students who had been living in Nepal for the last 5 months so we were traveling on a budget. We shared a room - it was excellent size for the two of us. We had super comfy, soft, big beds. 24/7 AC in our room, a fridge, coffee maker, good wifi, and nice balcony view. the best part was the beach was a 20 second walk from our hotel. it was absolutely beautiful. And when split between the two of us, the room rate was super cheap for what we got. We also paid to have breakfast every morning and I'd say it was worth it. Breakfast is a bit small but still nice. We'd get eggs, coffee, cereal, fresh fruit, mini pancakes, juice. Our room was cleaned every day and cleaned very well. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I loved our room and especially the location of the hotel! It's also right on the street with all the shops and great restaurants, and you can still walk a bit and find authentic street food. It's the best of both worlds: fancy restaurants, shopping, nice food and plenty of souvenirs. But also night markets and street food (which I highly recommend). However it is a touristy area so be wary of prices being jacked up for tourists.
