The hotel is in a great location on Nathan Rd steps away from the subway station with lots of food and shopping in the area. My one complaint was that I booked the room for 2 people and asked for 2 keys but they refused to provide 2 keys lying by saying they don't have enough keys.

We booked 5 night stay in Cara hotel.The moment we walked into the room. It is dark, smelly, old, dirty and noisy from outside. My wife was so upset and start crying. She cannot stand in there even a minutes. Even we just checked in, we decided to check out right away in the late night. The Cara hotel is just like a haunting house which should not be in the listing for us to choose in Expedia. Expedia should delist it and refund the 5 night stay money back to us.

I am a business owner myself so I try to be fair but I really haven’t much to say that is helpful for this hotel. The staff were accommodating as I requested room changes 3 times only to end up leaving early anyway because of the following: These are GUESTROOMS. Meaning you are in a VERY small space with your toilet and shower in the same space. You will be cramped while trying to wash your hair over your toilet and sink while your toilet paper gets soaked. You are limited to 5 MINUTES of shower time - after that you will run out of hot water. There is mold everywhere inside the rooms. Picture attached. They do not sanitize the showers as I asked them for sanitizer so that I could scrub my own shower and they said they don’t have it nor use it. People smoke inside. It’s not smoke free. There are cockroaches everywhere. Picture attached. The cockroach was the last straw for me, so I asked for a refund only to be told that I have to pay for the stay anyway cause I left after 12pm. I was unfairly treated because I had to pay for a room that was deemed unsafe to stay in (mold, cockroaches, unsanitary toilet conditions).

Basics at a Luxury Price

The hotel was clean & has the basics covered. Unfortunately the room prices are so expensive that you could get a five star hotel in other cities. At least they provide free luggage storage.

The housekeeper lady was pretty friendly. Others nah… especially the one on the ground floor (security?). The room is ok, pretty decent for one person only during layover. At least, I have a view to water. I’m not sure if it’s the part of the harbor but helped reducing my anxiety toward the small space.

This property is pretty out-dated. Aged furnishing, small TV & NO fridge (not even a mini one). The 2 elevlators operated separated. People simly will call both and make the elevaltors stops every floor during peak time. The bathroom is extremely small and there`s NO separate shower (you`re showering right beside the toliet & the sink. The space you can shower is about foot & a half between the sink & the door and 2 feet from the wall to the toliet. I`m a very samll build Asian female and still found it difficult to shower in such small space. The location is extremely convenience though; it`s about 100 m from MTR exit and bus stops right outside (many routes stop here and can get you everywhere). I visited HK very often and this hotel was on my radar for awhile. I did expected it would be a bit out-dated but was way below my expectation. I am not likely to go back
