Could do better.

I was disappointed. As a former resident of Kongsvinger I happen to know that this used to be the very best Hotel in the town. It can now only be described as 'tired'. The staff were courteous, but not especially customer oriented. Room was comfortable, but not what I expected of a higher end hotel. The sauna was good, but the pool was very cold. Breakfast on day 1 was interesting as the yoghurt placed on the buffet had gone off. Not the very best advertisement for Kongsvinger.

Find something else, even a tent. Totally unworthy of the price charged. The room is tiny/claustrophobic. I have stayed in B&B with larger rooms and better condition. The toilet is next to the bed, with a cover that is impossible to cover without a loud bang and a door that does not close, it just barely shields the view. When I complained upon arrival, I was told "all rooms are the same and the place is being slowly re-modelled". They should close the place until the remodeling is done. The breakfast was OK, but not enough to save this review. If anyone from EXPEDIA visited the place, they would have taken off the list. SHAME EXPEDIA, you can do better!

We had to change rooms. The toilet in the bathroom was dirty had not been cleaned. I complained and got another room. That room and bathroom were clean. We hope it was a one time mistake.

We were stuck in Kongsvinger for a day due to confusion on train reroute for track maintenance on ticket from Oslo to Stockholm. We booked this hotel when we found out we'd be stranded for a day with the kids. Hotel was great about accommodating our 2 adult, 2 child family in one of the only 2 twin bed rooms left and added a fold out bed.

Effektiv innsjekk og god frukost

Eg hadde eit triveleg opphald på Vinger hotell frå 19. til 21. august. Innsjekkinga var effektiv og hyggeleg, og eg kjende meg godt teke imot. Rommet var reint og funksjonelt, men noko slitt og ikkje heilt tilpassa dagens standard. Eg la òg merke til litt støv på lister og karmer, utan at dette var til særleg ulempe. På badet fungerte dusjen godt, med varmt vatn og eit forheng som heldt vatnet på plass, sjølv om servantkrana berre gav kaldt vatn. Frukosten var rikhaldig og god, med særleg vellukka bacon den første dagen og ein framleis smakfull, om enn litt for steikt variant den neste. Eggerøra var god begge dagar. Restauranten til hotellet nytta eg ikkje denne gongen.

Gammalt slitet hotell med stor frånvaro av både hjärta och själ, Spa-delen består av en fyrkantig pool med avstängd bastu, trasig dusch och smutsiga handdukar. Hissen på hotellet har varit avstängd i flera månader. Maten väntade vi på i 45 minuter drickan fick vi efter 50 minuter. Det positiva var ändå en glad personal, svala rum och att det gick sova där.
