We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights, visiting India for the first time for a friend's wedding, with my 2 children aged 8 and 10. The room was clean and well looked after by the housekeeping. View from the room was amazing looking out over the lake. Breakfast had everything we wanted - fresh fruit, cereal, pastries and local option. Evening meals were perfect although kids options were lacking the standard burger and chips, it forced the kids to try new things. Staff in the hotel were all really friendly and could not do enough to help us, and although not really a kid's resort, my two children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the resort and making a cup out of bamboo with the local carpenter. Overall a great holiday, a good base from which to explore the region and will definitely be back!
We spent an unexpected night here during a week in Kerala and it was a highlight of our trip. Roomy accommodation, good service, friendly staff and a lovely sunset drink at the sunset bar. You could rack up the spending on extras but we felt it was good value for money and the most peaceful place we stayed.
Right after our wedding, our honeymoon couldn't been any better and our choice of visit at fragrant Kollam was one of the best choice we made. Very friendly and cooperative staff. Every moment we spent at fragrant nature resort, will be treasured forever in our minds. 👌😊Dinu pille from front office was very helpful in every possible way. Also special mention goes to the Chef, we tried most of Kerala cuisine as suggested by our waitress Dani, and we are glad to say we were never disappointed with the food, also Santosh the restaurant manager arranged for a lovely candle light dinner in the houseboat. The visit to spa was aaaahhhh👍🏻😊👌... The local market is nearby to shop for sovegners and cloths, where our driver Satish Kumar gave information about local festival and places to shop. Also speed boat ride is a must, where Devraj was our speed boat rider😃. Gills, Indrajeet & Abesha from front office were also always approachable. The calm atmosphere is really relaxing in its own natural way.. Truly Gods own country.. We'll be seeing the friendly welcoming atmosphere of Fragrant Nature resort Kollam soon..
The hotel itself is gorgeous and the setting on the backwaters is perfect. Grounds are kept landscaped and maintained almost well. Complimentrey break fast is basic, but many items available on request. Live Omelet counter is good and tasty. But our Lunch time is not as good as expected and overpriced (at least for an Indian traveller) Rooms are well kept and clean. view from the room is spectacular. The staffs are notably good from the welcome drink to check out. We miss boat services, because the boat driver is on leave and no other alternate option available. Boat service cost for 1 hour also bit high compared to other area. Pool is good and Sunset bar also nice.
This is what you are heading for, at Fragrant Nature in Kollam, This place is situated away from the hustle and bustle. located in remote area but well worth the rest and peace You will enjoy. It can be difficult to find, signage and directions are not Well placed on the roadsides. Coming to the place itself, surroundings are nice peaceful, pleasant and Serene, definitely place to relax and let your hair down, if that is what you Are on the look for. Free Wi-fi is provided Though some things need attention, above place is far of and no shopping conveniences around, one will need to walk a good 15 minutes to reach anything, also the rooms need to be renovated, Specially the curtains/towels - it seems the place has not been touched since it Opened. Management needs to spend few bucks to make the place liveable. staying in villas, is suggestable if budget allows. Breakfast is an ordinary fare and nothing much to write but, at times it can Be bleak – but that will depend on the occupancy. Expect the usual south Indian dishes, during my stay it was fully & 100% Veg only. Management and staff are courteous and always willing to assist, the place is Well kept, having 2-3 boats which can be hired out. Would like to thank Mr. Dinpillay for his assistance. All in all – time well spend/enjoyed.
After a fairly long journey from Nayyer Dam, we arrived to a great welcome which immediately allayed our tiredness. The hotel registration was painless and we were upgraded without any fuss. The hotel was very quiet (max of 4 other rooms were occupied) which suited us. The facilities were somewhat limited - smallish pool, gym poorly stocked but again this did not matter to us but may to others. The restaurant (only 1 other than a sunset bar that doubles as a coffee lounge during the day and sea food restaurant in the evening) had plenty of choice and more importantly the staff were prepared to prepare anything you wanted. Of all the meals breakfast was the most enjoyable. All the staff at the hotel were very helpful but special mention has to go to Vijay who went out of his way to support us. The boat ride, massages and excursions arranged by the hotel were very nice. Overall the hotel was great for us. We wanted a quiet and peaceful place to stay which we got. If anyone wants a busy and bustling hotel this is certainly not the place for you. Also the hotel is tucked away and nothing is within walking distance. If you like exploring the surrounding area this is not the place for you as you will need to take a taxi.
We had booked accommodation for February 2017 at the Fragrant Nature for 3 nights back in May 2016, and paid 50% in advance. We arrived on 11/2 after a long drive to be told there had been a mistake and that the hotel was fully booked and that our room had been given to someone else. We were totally shocked and very upset. After about an hour's arguing the hotel accepted full responsibility and we eventually allowed ourselves to be persuaded to take alternative accommodation at the Raviz, at fragrant Nature's full expense( or so we thought). This turned out to be awful - a large noisy City hotel that overlooked water but was full of large Local corporate groups - not a suitable alternative by any means. We had to endure the night there, and FN agreed to move us to an alternative hotel in the morning. The manager then called us on the way and tried to charge us the remaining 50% for FN when we hadn't even stayed there!! Again after much wrangling they agreed to foot the whole bill as it was their mistake. WARNING if you book direct with these guys, and even pay a deposit they will ditch you for something better then try to renege on their promises. Don't trust them. We have travelled extensively in India and have never been treated like this before
WE STAYED IN ONE OF THEIR HUTS .... It is very peaceful property , very neatly kept . swimming pool is very nice and clean . Good property . very luxurious property . Highly recommended for long peaceful holidays .
Located right beside the backwaters gives great room views. Very courteous staff. Gave special attention to all our requests. Thanks to the whole staff (Dinu, Inderjeet, Izaac, Santosh, Dani and the whole team) for making a pleasant stay for us and making our anniversary special.
This place is a gem hidden in the jungle next to Kollam. It's secluded, so don't expect a short walk downtown but the interior should reward you sufficiently. Situated on the calm lake with hills around it it's one of the best places we've seen in Kerala. The staff is superb and the food divine, the quality of the room adequate. It's not a budget place and the prices are steeper than in most of the places we've visited in Kerala, but you got what you paid for. My wife appreciated the ayurveda spa, the best she's encountered during our trip in India and we've seen a couple.
