we went there for a 1 day trip with family. the resort is well maintained. we used the swimming pool and restaurant facilities. we used the pool side showers too. we found them all clean and well maintained. lawns were properly manicured, staff were very helpful. but what turned out to be bad was the food! some of us had a stomach bug after that and the food that was served did not meet standards!
Rooms were good and clean and comfortable Restaurant was a little on the pricey side in comparison with some of the other places we have stayed but the portions were also large The staff were wonderful and did everything they could to assist us and make our stay enjoyable Complimentary boat trip was great The pool was wonderfully situated with its outlook onto the lake The gym had very basic equipment and there was a ping pong table
After spending 21 at Fragrant Nature I am strongly compelled to write about my outstanding experience here: RESORT: On the windy road trip right before arriving at the resort I was slightly apprehensive as to what to expect, there is a somewhat bumpy track en route and I was initially left thinking where on earth am I going? I was more than happy to find that at the end of the drive there was a hidden resort behind some big gates that was in fact absolutely beautiful. Which leads me to want to firstly thank the gardeners and grounds people for ensuring that the place resembled a paradise – a picture perfect postcard setting. Set beside Lake Mala, the gardens were immaculately kept each day, throughout the day, by these staff members. They worked tirelessly and I was always greeted with the warmest of smiles, which made the place all the more beautiful. ACCOMMODATION: I was lucky to experience a stay in a lake view room, a lake view villa and the honeymoon cottage, all were decorated beautifully and all had the things you would need (towels, toiletries, massive comfortable bed, mini-bar, kettle, huge TV with satellite channels, Air-Con and excellent WIFI connection). I had a fantastic view of the lake from my balconies (the cottage had its own private swimming pool and gardens too) and I treasured the view at sunrise and sunset. MANAGEMENT: From the second I arrived the management here exceeded my expectations. I was greeted by Deepu whom continually ensured that my stay was a fantastic and unforgettable one. He made sure that throughout my 21 days, I was always tended to and proved that anything I needed he could take care of; I always felt looked after. RECEPTION: The team at reception were always ready to help with my queries and assure me that they were there to make my stay perfect. Inderjit was especially helpful and so courteous - even when I had to call very late at night! HOUSEKEEPING: I felt pampered by the housekeeping team and Issac made sure I was happy and comfortable in my surroundings – checking in with me every few days to ask if all was ok and if there was anything he could do. Renju cleaned my room twice a day and left my accommodation spotlessly clean. Towels were shaped into various animals and with the addition of colourful flowers and messages, I felt welcomed into my room each night. Arnau was also great and helped me get supplies off resort whenever I needed them. FOOD/RESTAURANT: The restaurant had an open air first floor which had great views and a downstairs with AC if the heat was too much. The food I received on this stay was absolutely first class. As a meat eater, I was worried about the vegetarian diet that awaited me but I can say the food served was very tasty and of course nutritious, I ate 3 times a day and yet somehow managed to lose 3kg (even though weight loss was not what I was looking for!) – a great bonus. There was a wide selection to choose from - from local delicacies to international cuisine so there was always something different to try. I also appreciated that the cooks Nikhil, Naszeem and Shivaa introduced themselves personally and asked if all ok with the food which of course it was, they were very nice and accommodating as when I mentioned I liked certain flavours, always prepared dishes they knew I would like. Santhosh and his front of house staff, Dania, Arul and Joseph were all exceptional and very attentive - and provided a service I would have expected in a 5 Star restaurant. Although dining alone, they actually made me feel part of their ‘family’ and I enjoyed my meal times even more due to their presence. On the occasions I ordered room service, I never had to wait more than 20 minutes, Albin usually brought my food and was always very humble and pleasant; I really appreciated his smile and his help when a few bugs had found their way into my room which he removed swiftly! YOGA & AYURVEDIC: I was lucky enough to have visited when there was low capacity at the hotel, so this part of my stay was extremely personal and life changing. For 14 days I received one to one Yoga lessons with the Dr K Sanathanan. This was my first experience of Yoga and it has forever changed my outlook on health and fitness; as I was introduced to what Yoga is really all about (not just exercise). Dr K explained the benefits of each breath, each movement, each thought and each day I could feel the benefits and I swear I am at least an inch taller than when I started; I left the resort feeling healthier and more aware of my body and mind than ever. The only down side is that I received wonderful daily massages after my Yoga sessions from Sreekutty and now I have left the resort I am no longer getting these massages!! For such a tiny girl she has extremely strong hands which is exactly what I needed to relax my aches and pains after my Yoga workouts. A huge thank you to all at Fragrant Nature- you made my visit outstanding and I hope to visit again…although maybe next time, I will opt for non-vegetarian as I fear I missed out on sampling more of your delicious food.
I'm a frequent traveller, nature lover, artist and photographer. I prefer staying in serene and tranquil places on my trips. Without any hesitation I can say that Fragrant Nature Resorts is one of the best I have been with all my criterion of a good stay. From reception to room service to quality of food to swimming pool....everything about this place is of high standard. They took as for a boating through the adjacent lake through and between mangrove 'forest' and believe me it was the best ride ever. I recommend this place eyes closed !
Nice location for a vacation wid family nice pvt pool villa and spl thanx to front office manager rahul deepu and simsi lov u al .. well maintained resort .... Thanks for ur service .........rahul deepu and smisi.... Unnikrishnan and family ...
In a stunning setting overlooking the glorious Lake Mala this resort is the perfect place for a date with nature. Get treated to a choice of delicacies from their own farms, a pampering Ayurveda spa and a traditional cruise boat for a fully experiential holiday. All the rooms and villas benefit from magnificent views of the lake while the honeymoon cottage has its own private pool and garden plus a spacious balcony overlooking the lake. LOCATION: Located on the serene Mala Lake it is quite secluded from the highway and you will feel like you are in a world apart! DINE + DRINK: The hotel has a lovely Sunset Bar where you can grab a Sundowner, but it shuts down around 6:30. But the restaurant on the first floor is a great place to continue the evening as well as treat yourself to delicious local food and a wide selection of International dishes. The best items on their menu are the ones with fresh fish/prawns! ROOM: I stayed in PREMIUM LAKE VIEW room(306), so this review is based on that; VIEW: The room had a lovely balcony which came with spectacular views of the serene Lake! ; SIZE: Very spacious room; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Very tidy with a Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: In house spa toiletries that were quite random and not desirable FACILITIES: Decent Swimming pool that was not as crowded. But the gym is a big joke! It is more of a Chill out lounge that houses a couple of super basic machines for aerobics. They do have a good recreation room with a Carom, Ping pong and chess table that come with spectacular views of the lake . SERVICE: Friendly Staff that took care of all my needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and like a royalty. HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all over the property. In fact the room had its own Wireless router, which is quite uncommon and resulted in dedicated connectivity! However the connection speeds were not as fast as I would expect from a dedicated router! So be prepared for slow web surfing; on the positive side the room has a huge Flat screen TV dishing out hundreds of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies and a wide variety of entertainment in multiple languages
We had a recent visit and this appears to be the best hotel in the area, and was beautifully tranquil. A charming and peaceful retreat in beautiful surroundings with kind and friendly staff The foods served to us were excellent and all our team members had praised on it. Our special appreciation to the Deepu, Santhosh and chefs for going out of the way to accommodate our requirements. Keep up the good works guys!!!
We spent a day at this beautiful place. The place was almost fully booked. The resort has well laid and landscaped grounds. We had a pleasant walk through the green grounds facing the backwater. We were introduced to this resort by Mr Ajayakumar in carpentry section. He took excellent care in making our trip pleasant and comfortable. The staff were very courteous and exceptionally supportive. Our little children enjoyed very much in the kids pool. The lunch was south Indian . The dishes were excellent and tasty . Also one should mention the delightful evening at sunset bar with tea and snacks. Overall we had a magnificent experience at this serene place. We wished to have stayed longer, especially children. Will certainly come to this place for a longer stay . Thank you Ajayakumar and all other staff for your support and caring. Highly recommend this place for a great holiday! Jayakrishnan
We were 6 people comprising of my in-laws,2 kids and we both.We booked a villa with the private pool probably only one in the entire property and one room too. Villa was amazing though couldn't see anybody else occupying another villa around. Service was a big issue coz it's at the farthest end of the resort....Distance from the restaurant is too much . And the room for my in-laws was at the other extreme end of the resort. Whole day we all used to stay in the villa and only after dinner they used to go to their room which was also very cozy and comfortable. Though the resort is in a remote area and was little difficult to find it but once we came here we were very happy to see the beautiful and huge property. Our private pool villa faced the lake and we could see boats too.Restaurant staff were very courteous and I loved the aam ka achaar which they served and the chef was generous enough to pack some for me to take home! Our last night dinner at the lake side was amazing experience with those small diyas inside the coconut shells on the trees. Overall a nice experience and would love to go there again...
We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights, visiting India for the first time for a friend's wedding, with my 2 children aged 8 and 10. The room was clean and well looked after by the housekeeping. View from the room was amazing looking out over the lake. Breakfast had everything we wanted - fresh fruit, cereal, pastries and local option. Evening meals were perfect although kids options were lacking the standard burger and chips, it forced the kids to try new things. Staff in the hotel were all really friendly and could not do enough to help us, and although not really a kid's resort, my two children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the resort and making a cup out of bamboo with the local carpenter. Overall a great holiday, a good base from which to explore the region and will definitely be back!
