Hotel situated at a very nice location. One of the oldest high end hotels of Kolkata. Hotel has a pub / disco right at the lobby area, which makes very difficult to talk due to loud noise coming our of the door. I had a bad day there, due to construction black water was running in the bathroom and it took 2 hours to attend it. Hotel also has a restaurant offering food late night. Hotel seems way too expensive for the facilities it provides.
I was here for a day on my business trip. Average Hotel with great location. Hotel needs renovation and big time grooming of staff. I came back to this hotel as all other hotels were booked. Poorly maintained hotel. Staff keep looking for tip for everything they do. Food is awful. Ordered room service, got burnt cheese garlic toast and stale nutty American brownie. Corridor smells like hell. Used gym which was average but maintained nicely.
Room was very good .same types of food was served every day. Food should be different for alternative days.Toilet quality needs improvement.Very cordial staff. Good locations near to metro & victoria Memorial . Gym was very good.
We(my wife accompanied me) checked into this hotel for a conference in Calcutta. The staff was welcoming but the reception area was not very impressive. Looked rather old and drab unlike most of the star hotels in India. I thought it was overstaffed as 3 bell boys brought our 4 pieces of baggage ceremoniously to our room. We dare not open the windows as the view was detestable. Restaurant staff was very helpful but the choice of food was very limited with only few items that resembled Bengali cuisine. When we travel we always enjoy the local cuisine. Ambiance of the restaurant looked excellent with live local music - rather loud - . Toilet was poorly designed and the faucet was fixed for the left handlers on the left side of the closet. Of course no one from the management ever stayed here to experience the handicap. Check out formalities were very simple and I feel this is a place with excellent staff and poor infrastructure
Rooms are well equipped and comfortable. very easy to walk into old kolkata you are able to experience the hectic traffic and street scenes quite easily Pool area is closed until March/april Buffet meals are of a good quality with a pleasing range of dishes One slight niggle was that the service in the restaurant was a little slow at times
Loved the stay at HHI.. Checking in was very smooth.. Ipshita and Debraj at the frontdesk were extremely efficient.. We reached the hotel at 12.30 am and asked them to arrange dinner.. It was done quickly and had amazing food.. I stayed at the Regal Suite and it qas very luxurious and comfortable.. Food quality is really good, both at buffet as well as room service.. Look for Sushma, Priyanka, Suvajit,Gautam da were all very friendly.. Staff is very cordial and polite.. Even the drivers Mukesh Mandal, Mukesh kumar, Soumen, and Siddhartha were extremely nice and courteous.. Three cheers to HHI for making my stay memorable.. Loved the experience.
A very nice hotel at a prime and convenient location in metro city. Nice rooms ..... House keeping service needs to improve.... They take a lot of time to respond. Food is good. Major negative........ They are not able to handle guests at the time of Buffet breakfast. Everyday .. .. not enough seating ..... Unending wait for your desired breakfast..... Staff becomes irresponsive. Balance of meals are well handled. A good point..... Complaints are attended to promptly by concerned managerial staff . The trainee staff are absolutely untrained and raw. They do not know how to behave with guests. Overall a good stay except breakfast
We thoroughly enjoyed three nights at this hotel and it proved to be an ideal base for exploring Kolkata. Our room was large, very comfortable, well equipped and clean. The bathroom too had everything you needed and constant hot water. We had a fascinating view on to the world from our window, and sound insulation was very good. The food and service in the restaurant was excellent. We found that the breakfast and dinner buffets both offered a wide variety of hot and cold foods that were fresh and very appealing. Even though there was a huge wedding taking place while we were there, we 'ordinary' guests were still provided with exemplary service and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
Pathetic service The hotel seems to be 2 star hotel rather 0 star hotel.Basic tea is not available in room service at 10 pm.Taps in washroom has dirty water coming.Inspite of complaining staff is least bothered to even listen.
Good service in restaurant. Not good service at bell desk. People at entrance will keep on looking at you but won’t come forward for assistance Food quality deteriorated. Good location Comfortable rooms
