An amazing experience in the City of Joy. I loved the duplex suite, had an amazing view. Their La Cuccina restaurant is a not to miss place, their Indian restaurant " Guchhi" serves sumptuous Dal makhani viz. Guchhi Dal.
Poor customer care in main restaurant Rowdy people uncontrolled by staff early hours in morning sleepless nights Poor quality food in main restaurant with poor choices Very dispapointing for a Hyatt hotel
Good looking Lobby and excellent Breakfast and dining. The food here and specially their bakery is superb. The rooms look excellent and the Toilets are above par. Sleep quality is very good. However, there are too many shortcomings: 1. Curtains are short in width, allowing morning light to enter the room. 2. Inadequate baggage rack. Unable to open a double sided suitcase. 3. Inadequate shelf and drawer space to keep your clothes 4. Bedside drawers are curved, makes it difficult to keep papers. 5. No blind between the room and toilet sanded glass wall. This disturbs the co-occupant if you turn on the toilet lights at night. 6. Housekeeping is shoddy. Tea bags and milk pouches were not provided in the tray when we checked in. Housekeeping staff forget any requirements told to them if you leave instructions to be followed when you are away. 7. Newspapers were not provided during the entire stay. 8. The toilet phone is located just above the WC water jet, and tends to unhook and fall off if you are not careful. Overall, though the room at first looks good, but is very poorly and inadequately designed. Another annoying aspect is the lift that is card operated, and the room key card allows access only to your floor. If you are there with other family members, and have rooms on separate floors, it is an ordeal getting to meet each other.
Hyatt Regency Kolkata , takes care of you as a family member. Very homely environment and caring staff . Culinary experience is mind boggling. Italian fare at La Cucina is awesome. Infact , would rank its food one of the best in the country among 5 star hotels. Worth regular stays!
AMAZING HOTEL! We were in town for a day before headed to Bhutan./ They are so nice and friendly. It is clsoe to the airport but about a 20-30 min drive to "downtown" which we did via Uber- very easy, cheap and safe. When in town we did Kolkata Story Tours for the day and LOVED IT! Email me if you want more information. This is a VERY nice and clean hotel I have been to. One of the better Hyatt's for sure!
The hotel is perfect one grade up business hotel with features suitable to better business functions. Room size is average and bathrooms are better than basics and functionally good. Lifts are efficient and staff is helping and understand their job. Food is tasty and service is quick. Taxis are available all the time. Wifi little slow but works. I left one of my packets in room which was found delivered after my check out next day without any hassles.
I reached Hyatt kolkatta late at night after a full days road journey from hinterland of Bengal. The check in was smooth. A well appointed club room on the pool side which is my preference was ready. newspaper came on time. The breakfast spread next day was sumptuous. Overall a good experience. Thanks
Its an excellent property, very strategically located, with great ambiance. Major setback was observed, was in quality, taste and presentation of food. Had dinner during my one day stay, the taste from dishes was totally missing, further, dishes were not hot, papad etc were not crisp, a very unexpected quality from a brand like Hyatt. The same was story in breakfast too. My advise is, for staying it is excellent, but for food, you may like to explore outwards.
I am a sales manager working with a mid-sized co & do travel allover for business. Last week,i stayed at this property for a night. I checked in the evening and was suffering from cold. On checking with the barman he suggested me HENESSEY brandy.Since i do travel ,had some idea on price of 90ml . But when i received the bill, was bit aghast to note that i was served Henessey XO @ 7500 FOR 90 ML. I was not expecting it ,not very impressed with the way customer communication @ bar takes place.
The fitness centre is open 24 hours which was great. The hotel Spa is decent and the massage I had at the hotel Spa was amazing. Request for Maria - the massage therapist from Mizoram (North East of India) - She is excellent!!
