First, no one greets you at street level door. You have to walk down stairs yourself with luggage to get to lobby. This can be easily remedied by installing a camera or a sensor for arrivals. Second, and this is what principally caused this rating, they did not have the room we prepaid and booked months ago available. Michelle said it was a first come first serve basis but she could give us a downgraded room (couple hundred less) and compensate us with a massage (does not even make up difference). We stayed in the pool villa for one night - wifi connectivity barely reaches it and room is sparcely furnished. A table next to the bed or a small one with chairs inside would be useful. We finally got moved to Presidential next day, which is beautiful and sufficiently furnished. If we had gotten what we had ordered, this woule have been a 5 star. What also reduces the rating is they ran out of several Thai products like coconuts (literally growing on their trees), chicken and Singha and Chang beers. Also - I get eco friendly amenities but watered down shampoo and bath gel is comical. View is breathtaking and would be similar to any other place in Maret. The place is beautiful, but the service made this an experience I will never repeat here. Do not stay here if you cannot handle steps - lots of them.
If you are a nature lover and like some peace. This is the place to be! Breath taking views from the room! The private villa with an infiniti pool is gorgeous. Staff are extremely friendly. Michelle helped us manage our bookings. She is awesome and very helpful. We loved our stay and will definately come back again
My wife injured her foot just prior to our visit and was getting around on crutches. We were dismayed to discover that the hotel is stairways everywhere. We wanted to leave after one night, to stay somewhere less dangerous. Management indicated they were happy to cancel, but could not refund for unused nights (standing behind their policy to the letter). So I’ve got the room I paid for. Wish I’d chosen another hotel.
What an amazing hotel and amazing stay! The spa was amazing, the room was big and the sea view makes it all! Restaurant was fine but the charming hotel and every space is well thinked and conceived! We were in love with this hotel, so will you!
We really enjoyed our time at the Kala. It was about 10 minute taxi ride 300/400 Bart to the main beach (Chaweng). The food was pretty good, lacked a real kick though. We had several cocktails, hit and miss in quality with some having too much syrup. Our only real complaint is that the staff would not engage us and don’t properly understand customer service (to a western standard, which is their customer base)
My Husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. We had booked 3 nights at first since we were deciding on the go where we wanted to stay. We ended up coming back for another 4 nights after traveling to another island for a couple of days because this place is so amazing! The staff are absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious. We stayed during their 9 year anniversary so everything was 50% off which was great! The view from our room and really anywhere on the resort was incredible! Even with the lack of beach we still give 5 stars. There is also a kayak and snorkeling gear you can use free of charge.
I had a wonderful trip with my husband in this hotel. All the staff were very warm, welcome and helpful. The room was fantastic, big bed, big bathroom and a nice view. The food was amazing with 30% discount. Right now the hotel still has a promotion, that is why i booked the room only 50€ per night. I think that it will be a great choice for everybody who wants to have a nice honeymoon here.
I booked this place for my boyfriend and I as a splurge during our vacation. We had been using AirBnB up until this point and I really wanted to stay someplace nice for the final leg of our time on the island. I am so happy I picked this hotel! Our time there was perfect. The bed was comfortable and we loved having the extra pillow. Our view was gorgeous and truly you couldn't find a bad view in the entire place. The breakfast choices were lovely and the lunch menu was great. The pool had a stunning view during sunset time and was a great place to relax. Overall, super happy with our experience there :)
The Resort offers the best view in the island but it doesn’t give you a nice beach to enjoy. Their infinity pool is nice though. The resort itself is beautiful but it is poorly maintained, you can see signs of being an old property everywhere. They are celebrating their 9th anniversary this month and they offer guests 50% off to food, beverages and spa. Their staff are friendly, helpful and cheerful especially “King” who mostly assisted us during our stay. We loved their food. Breakfast is plated and just OK.
The room was great. Location is good. Staffs are kind and nice. They were extremely helpful in finding and organizing the return of headphones that we left in the room after checkout. Very nice pool and beachfront areas. We will definitely come again.
