This place is nothing but a massive mistake!! Stuff extremely disrespectful and rude. Not helpful at all! Dirty place. You can’t walk in a shoes inside of this place but your feet are black as hell. I was sick and needed to take medicines, asked them if I can have a warm water into my own cup... they reguested a charge of 20b! Disgraceful!! Never again! Stay away!!
I liked staying here , will return , if you looking for social area then good place as well , the bar accross the road (which belong to rich ) was nice , had a nice pool and you could walk straight down to the beach from the bar , so hotel was 20m from beach
Average hotel with average rooms, but for very good prices. The hotel has good location - near to the beach and near to the main road on Lamai. You can use the swimming pool in the Swing bar which is opposite the hotel when you have accommodation here. And you can use the beach near the bar too. Prices in the Swing bar are good and they also doing food. They have the cheapest (and very tasty) breakfast in this location with beautiful view on the sea. You can buy a trips or tickets on the hotel reception and you can rent a motorbikes too. All what you need is in the one place. I recommend this hotel for short-term or long-term stay.
Really enjoyed our 5 night stay here during our 18 month backpacking trip. Location was excellent right on the beach. Rooms were basic but spacious and very clean. The pool was lovely too looking right over Lamai beach, for the money we paid we thought it was amazing value for money and would definitely return if in koh samui again, thanks!!
We spent a week at Rich Resort. Fantastic location: close to the town and near the beach. Room was a good size and the staff was friendly. All the amenities you need nearby. A brilliant tattoo artist on site as well.
Stayed here a couple years ago when it was run by the people who owned the swing bar. On this visit it was very dirty and we were eaten alive by bed bugs "NOT MOSQUITOES " Wouldn't recommend it.......
The hotel was nice enough, we stayed in the cheapest fan rooms and they were clean and had a fridge so that was good. They have a deal with the restaurant across the road so you can use their pool and deckchairs on the beach which are nice, although the food was expensive. Happy hour was timed to coincide with the evening fire show so cocktails were good value for that! You can walk to the Grandma/Grandpa rocks from the hotel and there are plenty of shops/restaurants/bars nearby. It's good value for Lamai beach, but you can get much better value for money on the quieter beaches on the island - hence the 4 stars. There seemed to be quite a few families staying there and the staff were nice. Overall a decent place to stay but 2 nights was enough for us.
Before staying at Rich Resort I read all of the TripAdvisor reviews from past guests and now that I have stayed here I totally agree with the majority of previous reviewers. In the main there are 2 points of view! Those that stayed in the "cheaper rooms" (dorms) were often unhappy and those that stayed in the dearer rooms/ apartments were very happy. As many other reviewers have already stated, this accommodation is a classic case of you get what you pay for! Happily, my wife and I stayed in an apartment and we were thoroughly satisfied with the accommodation and the excellent service provided by the manager (Mathew) and his very obliging and cheerful staff who immediately attended to any requests that we had. I spoke to a number of other guests who were staying in the better (= dearer) rooms and without exception they all shared my view of this place (ie. excellent value for money). I would have to say that for the price I paid for my apartment, I have never stayed in a place that was so close to the prime attraction of Koh Samui ( ie. the water). We had a swimming pool literally 3 steps from our front door and the beach was a further 20 metres away (it was so close we could constantly hear the waves pleasantly lapping onto the beach). From our apartment we had an uninterrupted view overlooking a beautiful beach and each night there was a spectacular Fire Show (provided by the restaurant next door to us) which we were able to view without leaving our apartment. As mentioned by other reviewers, the location is close (a couple of minutes walk) to all of the Lamai Beach services/ activities (transport, restaurants, bars, markets, etc). . There is some noise (from adjacent restaurants, road traffic, people talking, etc) around the area but not enough to hinder sleep or loud enough to be annoying. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and were well led by Mathew who reacted immediately to any requests for assistance or information on tours, transport, eating/shopping requirements etc. I am not surprised that this place is so popular and busy as it is in a great location, is well priced and provides great service! We tried to extend our stay by another week but unfortunately the apartment we had stayed in was fully booked so we were unable to do so. I would certainly recommend this establishment to friends and I will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Koh Samui. Well done Rich Resort Beachside Hotel!
Nice hotel, as many people have said you get what you pay for. From my point of view hotel was just what we wanted. Nice size room, amazing friendly staff. Any problems we did have the manager sorted it out straight away. Thanks guys for an amazing stay.
ive just returned from my two week holiday were i stayed at rich resort, cannot fault the place, i booked a double with aircon the rooms are big and clean, and freshly made on request, the location is perfect 3 minutes to centre, but quiet when needed , best beach on the island , as for the staff ive travelled, and i can honestly say that the staff are the most helpful you could ask for, friendly always with a smile and cannot do enough, ive made a lot of new friends and i cant wait to return to see them all
