Villa is beautiful. Very big on the inside & the bath/WC areas are air-conditioned. Only a rain shower here. Jacuzzi functioned very well in the plunge pool. Sunken tub (shower room) and plunge jacuzzi pool tiles do have sharp corners. Those with delicate skin do be aware. During our evening turn down, all the used/wet towels were just folded up again & left in the bathroom. They were not changed at all. This is not acceptable and this is the FIRST HOTEL that we ever stayed in that did this. Yes, we did have to call up. Now next is dining in Thai restaurant. Every dish is too salty for us. We never finished a single dish (3 ordered). Met the Exec Chef and he knows. The views on a non-rainy night is amazing. Mostly outdoor dining with a few tables under a SALA plus an AC dining room a few steps below. The pool and beach is beautiful. We tried to call up for 30mins foot massage @ 8:26pm but they refused saying they closed at 9. Well..... I was just checking if the service here was accommodating or not. Breakfast was good. Cuppuccino was not nicely decorated. Check in by Khun May & check out by Khun Chin fantastic !

I have visited there during March it was fantastic trip. Don’t miss the dinner with a nice view and good food. Great services , warm welcoming and good and clean spa . I can’t wait to visit there again.

We stayed three nights over New Year in a pool villa. The room was spacious and well laid out, and while not new or modern, tasteful and well maintained. We visiting the gym in room complex and the villas seem to win hands down. Due to mixed weather, we didn’t spend much time by the pool or beach, though both were nice. We ate at Tawann - highly recommend the Penang Chicken - and their casual dining venue for breakfast each day and lunch once. The food was solid and staff friendly. We also had spa treatments which were 5 Star. As other reviewers noted, the staff is awesome. Some of the standout staff included Duang, Max, Ruben, Koi plus the spa staff, the front desk team, and really everyone else we encountered. First photo is courtyard outside villa, second is view from the casual dining venue.

Hardware is good as expected being Renaissance. But the service is more than expected. Due to weather, all water activity and tour cancelled, so we spent lot of time in hotel. However we saw smiling faces all around the hotels, so we still have a wonderful 5 days holiday here. Great staff names that I can remember are: May, Aod, Lu, the yoga teacher..,,,. Thanks to them again 有用 0

We spent 5 nights at the Renaissance over Christmas and were sad to leave. A wonderful hotel. Like others have said its in a quiet location but easy cab ride to anywhere and you can walk out along the beach at low tide or into lamai if you have your walking shoes on. The hotel has a lovely chilled out atmosphere; gorgeous setting; paradise privtae beach; lush green gardens; fabulous long pool perfect for laps; beach pool for cooling off and kids fun; great breakfast selection and fresh juice bar is fab; beach bbq and christmas eve beach buffet - with amazing fire show - was fantastic; spacious rooms (sure alittle updatng here and there needed but nothing to worry about); rooms om 4th floor like ours have lovely views across the gardens and to the sea; yoga every morning was a great wake up. But last but least a huge shout out to the staff - who were really the best and could not have welcomed or looked after us in their discreetly friendly way any better. Highly recommend this hotel - would definitely come back.

We stayed at the pool villa. The hotel itself has a labyrinth of gardens :-) around the villas ...truly tranquil. Very green and peaceful. The pool villa is big and had a great view. The private beach is just to die for. At low tides you can walk over to Neighboring restaurants and have a great meal next to the beach. The hotel itself has wonderful restaurants. The staff is one of the best I have seen at Marriott chain hotels. The restaurant and the reception staff are just awesome. As an elite member the reception did tell me that they would probably upgrade me to the suite in a day or so but I was more than happy with the villa I had booked. Plus it was only a few step from the beach.....the suite is further away :-( I have to come back again. This place is a real get away from reality..... My wife and kids just loved the beach area......just excellent. Even at night .....beautiful lagoon.

The Renaissance Koh Samui provided a great vacation retreat for a few nights, and the upgrade to a garden villa was awesome, with spacious living area and private plunge pool. Overall, the hotel is "older" and needs some updating, and I would suggest staff be more attentive to maintenance issues on the property. The service staff- restaurant, pools, check-in, guest services- they were all awesome and worked hard to please and genuinely appeared to enjoy their work and interacting with guests. I have a few issues with the property- first, guests smoking around the pool and on the beach chairs- causing others no choice but to move or be exposed to their smoking. Smoking should be limited in some way. Also, perhaps due to the recent heavy rains, there was considerable sewage smell at certain times around part of the main resort area/restaurants. Staff generally seemed to have a very limited English ability, for a major hotel chain is not ideal. Finally, the shallow water in front of the property made it difficult to swim at lower tide (hands touched the ground!)- except for a considerable distance from shore- Lots of positives! Nice beach chairs. Free boat use (SUP, kayak). A serene and peaceful setting with lots of fountains and water basins with fresh flower petals. Extensive breakfast. Smiling and helpful service. Great coffee!

This hotel is located in a more quiet beach area on Koh Samui and not in the hustle bustle of Cheweng Beach. That is about a 20 min drive away. On arrival to Koh Samui we had paid for collection at the Airport by hotel 4x4. This takes the hassle out of waiting in any queues and jumping straight into the back of a car. The Public taxi rate to hotel is about 500/600 baht. The hotel charges 1000 baht. The major upside was another flight got in the same time as us and the queue looked pretty long. The hotel is actually located off the main road and you drive up an unmade road for a quarter of a mile. The reception area of hotel is very pleasant and reception staff are top class. As a Gold member informed we had been upgraded to villa and also accommodated our early arrival. To be fair, this was Thai Airways fault but another story. The garden villa upgrade accommodation was excellent. It came with own plunge pool within garden area. The shower was also one of the biggest I have encountered in my travels. The bed was very comfortable and if any complaint it would be the room was a little dark in the evening. This is a common issue in Thai hotels. The hotel gardens are lovely and well kept and lead down to the swimming pool which adjoins the beach. The hotel actually has loungers on the beach for your use. Again the Pool bar staff were excellent and assist if you wish to use kayaks, small rowing boats which are available, free of charge for your use. The water was very pleasant also. The beach has a little shingle so you do have to be careful. It doesn’t get much better though. Lying on the lounger, on the beach with cold drink in hand. We only used the breakfast buffet, food wise which was good. Covered all tastes and had a reasonable selection. Again the staff here were very pleasant and helpful. The only issue with the hotel is you are a little out the way if you want to party. The hotel run a shuttle into Cheweng free at 1pm and 4.30pm daily. They can take you in the evening but charge 400 baht one way. A public taxi is about the same price. We did find you can barter a price on way back home with taxis and were paying 300 baht. I would also thoroughly recommend you rent a motorbike which is cheap, 180 baht a day or even a car. This gives you the freedom to explore the island at your leisure and negates the need to splash out on the Hotel’s tour guide package. Overall I would re-emphasise the staff were fantastic and a real asset to the Renaissance chain. Would I stay here again? You bet I would!

For the 2nd half of our vacation on Koh Samui i thought i'd book a 5* resort to please the misses and myself of course. originally i booked a "sea view" room.. i strongly advise not to make the same mistake. these rooms are at the back of the resort, and little sea view there. I changed to a beach villa (villa 105) with "private" pool (after a huge extra payment) which was not so private at all, as everybody is walking by and has a free view in the garden and at the pool. The service at the beach is not what you would expect from a 5* resort. In fact, there is no service, for every thing you want, you have to get up and try to find someone at the bar to order. One other thing is that the resort is a bit remote, with little around, its almost that they know this, and take advantage by charging un-thai prices for everything. I can go on and on, but for >50000 bht for 4 nights this was very disappointing. The only good thing was uncle rang's restaurant down at the beach (50 mtrs left from the resort) where the food is excellent, and the price only half of what it is at the resort. We had more fun in the cheap resort at the other end of the island.

G I had stayed here in December 2016 with my two friends and family have a lots of fun here The property is nice and maintained with a Jacuzzi in everything we have done lots of enjoy and the breakfast is also very good with the yummy juices
