When we checked in and were taken to our room, we were horrified. We had paid for a Villa, which looks much better on the internet than in reality. The bathroom was terrible and the whole room smelled of mould. There is no maintenance at this establishment. There is no service at all. We had booked this as our New Years' stay. We checked out 2 hours after checking in because we could not bear to stay in the room. the pool area is in disarray, and is just a mess. if there are no golf carts to shuttle you or the drivers are busy, you walk (the resort is on a hill.) do NOT book at this place - go anywhere except here.
It's a 200 metre walk up a steep hill to the lobby. There are golf carts to take you up and down but when we wanted to check out the phone didn't work so had to walk. The air con in the room didn't work either but luckily it was not hot season. The maids were lazy and didn't sweep or clean the floor once in 6 days. I had to ask them to leave soap and then again for shampoo. The breakfast was awful. I will not stay again.
Look I had just like you read the reviews befor and thought hmm I'm sure it can't be that bad. It IS!! your not saving money but you'll literally be throwing it away. Where do I start. The staff I heard having an argument with another person stating there, they are not professional and bearly speak a word of English. Don't get me wrong I'm not the foreigner that expects everyone to speak my language, Samui was my third location on my trip through Thailand and i enjoyed my stay on the previous two accommodations MUCH more I practiced my Thai and enjoyed the staff. The room lacks a lot, the hill isn't a hill it's a mountain, just the walk to the restaurant I was sweating and the the food was bland and my bread soggy, the staff looks perplexed at simple request. I had ordered a drop off and pick up to town one morning got the drop off never picked up. Had lizards in my room, my light key stopped working, they clean like kids what they see first is cleaned and everything else is dusty. The bathroom was like a hostel bathroom I left nothing out just in case. The breakfast wasn't even worth been complementary I only ate it once. I had room service one day as it was raining heavy that was over salty and the plates were still outside my room as I checked out 2 days later. Just save yourself the hassle and either pay little extra or find somewhere better. The taxi ride there and back to town you might as well. DON'T DO IT. To the manager stop apologising and get you hotel up to standards this isn't even a 1 start hotel your ocean view is the only thing worthy.
A tired and dated resort offering basic accommodation on a picturesque rocky hillside with no beach access. As a solo traveller this hotel rates lowly as it is away from other venues and requires taxi or scooter transportation for any activity outside the hotel. The breakfast restaurant is pleasant and food offered adequate with both cooked English style, a small offering of fresh fruit, pineapple and watermelon. Given the vast array of fruit on the island I found this poor. Bread and croissants, cereal, salad vege. Dinner restaurant was basic and poorly attended whilst other resorts had a lively Saturday night dinner and show. (Should have gone there) Overall, Id say spend a little extra and stay closer to Chaweng for better value.
To start off the staff are rude right from the reception.. to get a smile from the golf cart driver you have to tip him... I booked 2 rooms for my family... One room the AC stopped working late at night so the other members had to adjust in my room... the ambiance is okay.. could be better.. but most importantly the place needs to be maintained.. I only liked the infinity pool and the food.. but for hospitality i'dd give them a big 'ZERO'. Throughout the day I felt like the staff thought they were doing us a favor... Which is a pity... We left within a day and shifted to another hotel as we weren't comfortable at all... I wish them all the best with the kind of service they are providing guests from around the world...and yes.. please learn the meaning of the word HOSPITALITY!
The resort itself is beautifully located between Lamai and Chaweng. The view is breathtaking but there are a lot of cons. First of all: maintenance is not a priority here. The tiles at the swimming pool just come off the wall, the rooms are outdated and we've seen our share of roaches and other pests on a daily basis. The breakfast is simple but OK and the staff is nice and helpful, but there are a lot of other options for the same price. Wouldn't stay here a second time.
A mediocre resort in case of hospitality by staff.very rigid to foreigners and steep path ways to reach rooms.buggies are there but operators meagre.once you climb up the hill senior citizens will be totally exhausted.rooms are done well with a theme.though on beach side the huge trees block the sea view.restaurant is good and the man in charge is well mannered.
We stayed here for 10 nights from 28th March. The staff were so unfriendly and unhelpful. We had a room at the bottom of the resort, which was nice with the exception of the bathroom which needed a complete overall. It rained heavily during our stay and the boys driving the golf buggies really seemed that they didn't want to collect us to take us up to the top of the hotel, it is a really steep climb especially in the rain. The swimming pools need a complete overall as well. They look nice but on close inspection they are dirty with tiles missing. The cleaning of the room was hit and miss. I think there are nicer hotels around for the money we paid to stay here in an upgraded room.
Myself, my partner and our two friends all stayed at Baan hin sai resort for 11 nights during Feb, 2017. Its a beautiful resort, its like being in the middle of the jungle, with amazing views of the ocean. The food and drinks were all well priced in the resturaunts and the pools were mostly clean all the time. The resort is situated on a cliff like area... so alot of hills to walk up in the resort itself. They do offer a golf buggy pick up service from your rooms to the main area for those at the bottom on the hill in the resort which is great. There are 2 resturaunts in the resort. 1 at the top of the resort, near the main reception. Opens for breakfast early around 6:30am and stays open until 3pm. Then that resturaunt closes and the 2nd resturaunt opens. This one is located at the bottom on the resort with amazinggggg ocean views. Opens 3pm until late. The staff did not speak good english at all! Which was hard to deal with when paying for things, asking for things etc. but a small price to pay for such a nice resort. The resort is located perfectly between the two main areas of Koh samui. Chaweng is about a $5 AUD taxi ride away and so is Lamai. There are always plently of taxis out the front of the resort. Overall was pretty happy with our stay, dont know if we would go back, simply because there are alot of other resorts to try. But for the price you pay, this resort is great and i recommend it to anyone.
Do yourself a favor and just pass on this hotel. The only employees that did not have a scowl on their faces we're the women at the spa. The reception desk employees must be related to the manager, because they were just down right awful to deal with. The hotel is on the side of a steep hill, my villa was right above the spa. With a bad knee, walking up or down the hillside path was not easy. They have these young me on call to come get you on a golf cart, which was great. Except they drove like maniacs both directions. Never tried to engage in. Hello or thank you. The pools were nice, I had no problem with my villa. But the whole staff sucked the life force right out of you. I left a day early, not caring about losing my $40 that I had already paid for the room.
