beautiful large room with balcony overlooking huge pool, that travels around the complex, with view to beach. There are no lifts but at only 3 stories high not necessary. accomodation and resort is set over 2 sections divided by vehicle entrance. Its like a road however you are at the end of a gravel road so there is really no through traffic.
Staff new our name and anything we needed/wanted they would get sorted straight away.the pool being the highlight along with the room jacuzzi, free yoga and aqua jog (with Pitcha who is the best), free laundry, unlimited water, bath salts, and the spa was perfect.the bfast had an Egg chef, bacon, eggs ect. A range of thai food.fresh fruit and snacks. Average breads though but great deep fried bananas! Also coffee/iced or hot/juice prepared on order.will definitly recomend to family. Yes it is a drive away with a few limited shuttles provided, the beach isnt swimable, the shuttle to airport overpriced (book yourself), no cheap options (but go to bar to the right) and room for improvement with the cleaners.everything else makes up for it.
We will recommend Mai samui resort to everyone and We would like to see Wanida when we come back and in the breakfast we would like to see Zar Zar and Lechme. The room very nice and clean and everybody very friendly here . and we have no complain about the food because plenty there, and the girl working so hard here and everybody look after us .
We just spent 10 days at Mai Samui Resort, we can only recommend the Place! Excellent staff with MS. WANIDA at frontend. She and the rest of the staff could not do enough for us. The restaurant staff made our breakfast time real fun, like ZAZA ,SUNNY AND SABINE. GO THERE AND FIND OUT!
have just returned from our 8 night Luxury Escapes trip to this resort, and have to say out of all the Luxury Escapes deals we have done this is not top of our list. On the 3rd floor with no lifts so stairs everyday plus stairs and bridges over the pools that do not accomadate anyone with a disability. Pool was not inviting and cleaning of our room was not spot on. Sometimes we returned and did not have clean towels and sugar and tea and coffee had not been replenished. Only had the breakfast that was included and we ordered poach eggs that were not cooked through the same with the boiled eggs. This resort is not close to anything, therefore you cannot walk out the resort and get any amenities for your room and the beach out the front was rocky and tide was out most of the day. Lots of rubbish on the beach as well, and hotel staff do not keep it tidy, whereas a little bar called PJ'S just down the beach clean and rake the beach out the front of their little pub/restaurant everday with pride.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mai Samui. We booked into a pool access suite which was just lovely, it was so nice to be able to have a swim, then relax on the terrace with a book. The staff were outstanding, each and every one of them went out of their way to assist. The spa was lovely, the treatments were very good. The only things we didn't like were the location, it was a bit far out of the main areas, but really that made for a very relaxing holiday. The other thing was the beach wasn't really suitable for swimming, but the pools more than made up for that.
Reception staff and check in.. We arrived earlier than the normal check in time and after completing he mandatory paperwork, we settled ourselves in the reception area with our welcome drink to wait for our room to be prepared. We decided that the pool access room offered was not the one for us as the pool area in front was quite shallow and being Australian and swimmers, we asked if we could change rooms to where the water was deeper. The staff were very apologetic and said it might be some time before they would have a suitable room for us due to check out time.. we happily agreed to wait and we were offered breakfast etc. and a lounge on the beach if we wanted to relax more after our plane trip. Twenty minutes later we moved to our room which was ideally situated, not far from beach, bar, breakfast, reception and hotel restaurants.. Room NO 103 Our Luxury Escapes package was excellent value and included a Pool Access Room, 10 dinners, 16 half hour visits to the spa and airport pick up. Meals/Staff Breakfast was always a pleasure ~ great variety of Western and Thai food on offer. Eggs could be cooked to your liking and delivered to your table by the always smiling and happy staff. Two hour breakfasts were not unusual for us as we interacted with the happiest multi lingual staff and other guests. Dinner: Our Thai meals in Mai Pub were varied and excellent .. we also enjoyed our interaction with the wait staff who were very competent and professional whilst showing a very happy and "can do" attitude... Happy Hour: 1pm to 6pm was always a great hotel incentive.. as was the Manager's Cocktail Party each Friday at 4 pm. and enjoyed by all. Customer Relations Manager: We met Ada Marie, on loan from Mai Khao Lak, during our stay. She was a breath of fresh air not only to the guests but also to her staff, who were very grateful to have her with them. Constantly on the go, with a lovely demeanor and always striving to improve the hotel facilities for the benefit of all guests and staff. We have returned to Australia with wonderful memories of our stay at Mai Samui, thanks to the caring attention of the happy staff in the "Land of Smiles"
All of the staff at Mai Samui were lovely and friendly. Our children had a great time swimming in the pools & we all enjoyed the included continental breakfasts. Located quite a distance away from the main strip of Chaweng, the shuttle to town was convenient but a return of 4pm was too early. A taxi one way was also pricey if making regular trips - 700baht or $A28. The food at restaurants & bars offered at Mai Samui were nice but largely empty as guests sought cheaper alternatives elsewhere. Cocktails at PJs along the beach were 100 baht vs 280 at the resort. Food typically 700 baht with drinks at PJs for family in comparison to 2000 baht at resort. Crazy considering low patronage as guests would be more likely to eat in if more affordable. The beach was very disappointing & not able to be swum in. Too rocky & littered with rubbish. The resort itself was very clean & tidy. We enjoyed our stay, the spa was great (particularly if using included spa vouchers) otherwise similarly priced to Australian prices. Not sure we would stay again given the cost of using taxis to make the most of seeing and experiencing Koh Samui. If you only wanted to relax by the pool & had breakfast & dinner included then this place is perfect.
