The hotel seemed pretty well during booking. Very good contact with hotel service and reception before accommodation. Good location, close to old city center and port. Jacuzzi included and big windows - natural lighting. Good restaurant on the top floor - but unfortunately we didn't receive see view, like we asked for during booking a table. Big prices for swimming pool, kettle is included but coffee/tea and even mineral water are extra paid. Big prices for room service. Curtains were broken, I couldn't open them up in the morning. Blinds in window between bed and bathroom were not covering whole glass, a bit uncomfortable and awkward. The worse thing - on Sunday morning loud techno music woke me up - the music was played from the restaurant downstairs, from 8 am. Restaurant (for breakfast) is in other building. In general - price is too high. Unluckily, location is not the most important for everyone. I will not recommend to my friends.
I stayed for 4 nights in the main hotel. The bed was very low and the room needed modernised. It was clear that no-one had used the jacuzzi bath for a long time as when I put the jets on lots of grit and dirt came out! Breakfast buffet was good & the hotel has lots to do within it (pool, bowling, rooftop bar, casino, gym etc) Excellent location for exploring the Old Town and the Island
We had rooms on the high floor, so the view was spectacular. Room itself was big with seperat sitting area, but rather dated. Bathroom had the smallest sink we had ever seen in any hotels. And the toilet paper holder was placed so far from the toilet seat, it was useless. Breakfast was in a huge room so filled with guests, it was difficult to find seats and sometimes people were almost fighting for food, just had to eat quickly and get out of the chaos. Location was good, just on the edge of the old town.
Whoever thought it was a good idea to only build two tiny elevators in a huge hotel should be publicly shamed. If that weren't bad enough, the lifts are poorly maintained. If you want to make some funny videos just stand in front of the elevator doors on the first floor. The elevators bounce and jerk to a stop. When the doors open - people have a look of fear and gratitude - that they survived without plunging to their death. And you better plan 30 minutes ahead if you want to get your luggage down on the elevator before your transit leaves. Everyone else is trying to get on the same tiny lifts at the same time. There is no air-conditioning even though there are some controls on the wall that try to make you think there is air-conditioning. The rooms were hot, and I have the misfortune of staying here two nights. The window does open, but it is extremely noisy outside of your hotel room window. In addition they have a casino/bar that apparently closes at 4 AM. At 4 AM a large crowd of people were making all kinds of noise out on the street. So our group got very little sleep. The room itself was larger than most European hotel rooms. The bed was big. The bathroom was adequate, but did not have any shelving. You need to put all your toiletries in the bedroom area. Breakfast is in a separate building. There were lots of options at The breakfast buffet. But since the same breakfast services two large buildings - it is very crowded and busy. There was no fan provided in the room. There was also no tea kettle, either. The gym is extra charge. There is one channel on your room television it advertises the gym. Over and over in the video the camera zooms in on the women's breasts who are working out. You've got to see it to believe it. This hotel is also a fire trap. The one staircase does not empty into the outside of the building, it and dumps into the lobby. But not only that - you have to press a button for the door to open to get out of the stairwell. If there is a fire and the power is out - good luck trying to get out of this building.
Check in was easy. Rooms are roomy. Bathrooms are great. Breakfast room is well laid out, enough room for everyone. Location is fantastic, close to restaurants, bars and old town. Recommend it to everyone.
This is a modern hotel that is centrally placed and easy to find your way to as it is one of the highest buildings in the city. There is good free Wi-Fi in the rooms and the TV at least had BBC world news in English. I stayed in room 623 which one would think high enough from the street to avoid road noise. It isn't as it seems some locals like to tear up and down on Harley Davidsons at night. Double glazing did not help. The room did not have air-con but I was not of a mind to open the window with the noise at night. Being a modern hotel it has elevators but these need to be operated with a security card. These lifts also tend to abruptly stop at floors. This hotel is the only one I've stayed at where they suggest a time to go to breakfast as they cannot cope with the numbers. Breakfast is actually in an adjacent building (VivaLaVita building) so hope its not raining. If you try following the red line from reception it leads you to an elevator with no clue where to go from there. Getting breakfast was something of a jumble sale for food and seating was a treasure hunt. Coffee machines were often breaking and long queues formed. The food itself is OK. Reception staff were rather unapproachable but they are a huge improvement on the staff in the rooftop bar in the VivaLaVita extension. I gave up trying to get served there on my first night. Some friends tried again the following day but even standing at the bar they were ignored by the tall blond guy who was doing nothing there. Deciding it must be table service they sat and, in turn, had drinks menus thrown onto the table by the dark female waitress. She never did come to get their orders and as they decided to leave she told them she had been 'too busy'. The guy at the bar was still doing nothing.
The hotel has a very central location, very close to the old town and many things within walking distance. Staff seemed friendly and helpful. The room is reasonably well equipped and has a very good bathroom, albeit they offer only a general soap-body-wash in one container. The TV offers some German channels, France24, otherwise Lituanian and Russian channels. The only big and important negative point is the bad isolation of the windows. With windows closed at night, I still got the sound from outside as if I had been out on the street. Noise came in from cars and taxis driving around. In addition, there's a nightclub just next to the hotel and - albeit being on the 5th floor - I could hear people talking and laughing outside the nightclub all the night until 5am in the morning. I didn't sleep at all. To sum up: It could become a good price-value hotel if they decide to renovate. As long as the windows stay as they are right now, it will be difficult to get some sleep.
This hotel in Klaipeda at first look is impressive but on closer inspection lacked that little finesse.Large reception area, then crowded area around the lifts which were far to small for our large group. Awkward to operate at first and quite bumpy when we reached our floor. The breakfast/ dining room was a short distance from the hotel through several sets of doors. When there though the choices were varied, but the "hot" food was at best only warm. The rooms were functional but slightly dated.
It's difficult to know where to start, so many things were wrong here. Let's start with the horribly rude staff of this hotel. I have never encountered people so rude starting with the front desk crew up to the general manager of this hotel. I won't go into specifics because time is limited, it would take me all summer.... suffice it to say... pick somewhere else to stay!
You are always suprised, when arrive to hotel reception at Lithtaunia...old eastern winds are blowing with stamps and signatures, official welcoming. Douple very used with old carpet floor, smell of...old building. Bathroom is rebuilded and clean. Breakfast continental, very ok, including all you need. Water bottle 0,75l 3,50€ is expensive, you'll get it 0,45€ from local shops. Close harbour, many nice restaurants and pubs close distance
