Nice place to spend Christmas at the beach

This house offers a great view and access to the beach/ocean from the great room/kitchen/dining room. We stayed over Christmas and though it was cold, it was nice having a gas fireplace, a hot tub and a pool table. It has a lot of sleeping spaces throughout the house each with their own bathrooms.

Beautiful cottage

My family had an amazing vacation at this beautiful cottage. When we arrived the downstairs ac was not working but the owner was there the next morning to put in multiple window units to keep us cool. Plenty of space to gather as a family and great bedrooms to get a little quiet time. View of the ocean was amazing and easy walk to sit and play on the beach. The screened porch with hot tub and fireplace was also a very popular place to hang out. The pack and play and high chair was a nice touch for our youngest grandson. I could go on and on. If you are thinking about a cottage in this area trust me this is the one to rent!

Wonderful property, everything you can ask for

Once again our family had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful home. Great location, well maintained, spacious & clean. Kitchen well equipped to cook for the group, Many thoughtful amities, including a pool table, beach chairs, bikes, a ping pong table, outdoor grill. Walking distance to several resturants, grocery store a short drive away. AND of course, the view of the Atlantic from the main room and deck, and just a few steps from the uncrowned beach You will not be disappointed.

Fantastic place

A wonderful place to stay! Everything stated in listing is accurate. Zero negatives about this place. Kitchen was large and had all utensils, dishes, pans, etc for whatever cooking needed. Location was wonderful and very quiet; loved all the Martin birds! A true gem of a spot...if we could have stayed longer, we would have. Absolutely recommend this place!

Perfect location, beautiful house

We visited in April (technically off-season but great weather for a New Englander). The location was amazing - directly on the beach with gorgeous water views from the main living area. Close to the town of Duck (boardwalk was lovely) adjacent to the Sanderling Resort and a short drive to Corolla (wild horse tour, shopping, lighthouse etc.). Our group loved playing pool and ping pong. Hot tub was great and well maintained. Kitchen is a dream - made it easy to enjoy meals in rather than pay for restaurants. We had the beach to ourselves most days since it was off-season. Host was responsive and helpful. House was also very dog-friendly - easy to go the beach and rinse them off in the outside shower. Would love to return!

Spring Break 2024

This property was amazing. When you walk in you feel like you are home! The decor was great!! The location was easy to get to and easy to go to all the Outer Banks destinations. We took a short drive and took a Wild Horse Adventure Tour and saw wild horses on the beach. We toured the Wright Brothers Museum. We drove to Manteo...We saw lighthouses & we shopped! We ate some wonderful meals! It was a perfect 5 day get away!! I highly recommend The Oceanfront Oasis! The owner was amazing to work with & and the views of the beach were perfect to wake up to each morning. GREAT Trip had by all!

Family getaway

Beautiful ocean views. Enjoyed the spa at Sanderling. Good location. Garage floor is slippery when wet. My son in law and my husband both slipped and fell. Injuries to foot, knee, and hip. Tried getting a message to the host but was unsuccessful. We cooked a lot in the beautiful kitchen. Needed more paper towels, kitchen towels, and garbage bags. Affordable but VRBO charges too many high fees which drives the total cost too high for frequent visits. Charged for trip insurance when we declined coverage. Overall the house and Duck were nice.

Oceanfront with fantastic views

Great oceanfront rental with an outstanding 3rd floor view of ocean. Lower levels enjoy the sound of waves but at dune level. Nice 2nd floor porch equipped with rockers and a well maintained/nice hot tub. Easy/short walk to the beach. Gourmet kitchen with island was a delight and enjoyed the beautiful floors/steps. Top floor deck was perfect for relaxing. Enjoyed the game room and puzzles as not the best weather this week. Elevator a plus for moving in and out. Quiet peaceful neighborhood with some dogs; nice for morning and evening walks away from main road. Adequate space on beach when tide cooperated; plenty of zen time. Easy to communicate with property owner and no issues experienced. Had a great time with family, friends and furry children. Thank you for sharing your home!

Super Family Getaway!

Our extended family spent a wonderful week together in this house. It is beautifully decorated and gives off a cozy beach vibe. It was very clean and incredibly well-appointed. It felt like a home away from home for us. The hosts had really thought of everything. We had a very quick “how-to” question when we first arrived and Greg responded to us almost immediately. The location was perfect for us - a quieter section of the beach, and still centrally located to great restaurants and activities. We would definitely return to this house!

Beach Oasis

Well appointed and situated house perfect for a multi-family excursion. We had perfect weather, but there are plenty of things here to amuse a family on a rainy day. Recent renovations have resulted in a fabulous kitchen + dining + living room area with outstanding sea views. Owner was very responsive when questions arose. Highly recommended.

Never got in to the property

Got to property at check in time. Tried numerous (dozens) attempts to access property Host. Could not unlock doors to the elevator, garage or front entrance. At least a half a dozen phone calls to the Property Host resulted in messages that he wasn't available and would call us back. Numerous calls to Vrbo and them trying to contact him didn't work any better. Here are 2 of the Vrbo case Nos. I wrote down #116641921 and 1166440619, there were more but we didn't get a chance to write them down. Vrbo offered to try and get us a place to stay near by. However we had to dogs, it was hot we had groceries that needed refrigerating, we were stuck. After near 4 hours of waiting at the property we had to make a decision. Stay there or leave. Fortunately, we could get back to home in less than 2 hours and we did that night. That evening, near midnight, I was in bed and I finally got a return call from the Host. I said I'd get up with him in the morning. On our way driving home we contacted all of our guest that would be joining us that evening and later in the week, some driving, some flying. By the next day the whole reunion was pretty much in shambles, and when I told the host that we would not be returning to the beach he implied that was our decision but the property was still rented for the week to us. Later on he has indicated that he rented the property from Tue. thru Fri. morning and he would reimburse us for that time. That was the last I've heard from him.

OBX 2023

It was our 21st year in the OBX and this unique house did not disappoint! The location had outstanding views that can’t be beat! The beach was very private and the owner was so helpful with any questions. The house was clean and well stocked and the beds were comfortable. We hope to return again in the future!

Great property, great location. Clean, beautifully decorated, well stocked. You have to search hard to find a better place on the Outer Banks. Communications with the owner quick and seamless. We will be back.

Disappointing holiday experience

Unfortunately, we experienced issues with major amenities not working, as well as with the cleanliness of the kitchen and other areas, and overall condition issues. Amenities: One day before we arrived for a two-week vacation with family over the Christmas/New Year holidays, the owner informed us that the dishwasher was not working, nor was the fireplace in the main living area. Over our entire stay, neither was fixed. We would not have rented a "luxury" house without a dishwasher, with 7-10 people in the house over the holiday period. Additionally, we were told that the hot tub was fully operational and it was not, until we reported it. The hot tub was also in poor condition, missing cushions from 3 out of 4 places. Cleanliness: Simply stated, the kitchen was unclean. The stovetop and oven were dirty - and we spent Christmas morning cleaning the dirty / greasy oven and kitchen (including a dirty floor - crumbs and food on the floor in plain view). We also found several items on the floor, and in/on the furniture around the house (jewelry, pens, crayons, and more), which indicated that the house was not properly cleaned. We cleaned several windows, which were dirty and obstructing the view. VRBO has said cleaning is the responsibility of the owner. It was not met. In addition, the circuit breaker in the front bedroom repeatedly failed with only two people in the house. As others have noted, numerous windows in the house do not have screens, which also caused issues.

Beautiful location, well-stocked and well-maintained

The house is in a fantastic location with unobstructed ocean views...but only from the top floor. Because of the height of the dunes between the house and the water, you can hear, but not see the ocean from any of the bedrooms. The top-level porch was the best spot in the house. Ocean view and ample seating. The beach goes on for miles and we had it mostly to ourselves given it was late in the season. Massive houses are all around and very close to one another. We could hear neighbor's conversations if they were on their porch at the same time we were. This house was among the most nicely maintained compared to neighboring homes (exterior wood was in good shape, not as weather-worn as some). We loved the recreational amenities the house provided...ping pong, pool table, electronic keyboard and board games were great. The kitchen was very well-stocked. There wasn't anything we needed or wanted that wasn't there. We had 3 different groups from our family there and each had their own space to retreat to which was ideal. Each bedroom having its own bathroom was also nice. I appreciated having the linens and towels provided (many listings in the area don't). Washer/dryer was new and the house had both dishwashing liquid and laundry detergent which was great. The house is conveniently located (10-ish minute drive) from a grocery store as well as from the center of town so there are restaurants and shopping and things to do nearby. There were a couple of downsides. No screens on ANY of the windows...the weather was such that we would have liked to sleep with the windows open to hear the sound of the water since we wouldn't have needed the heat or a/c on. We weren't able to do that, which was disappointing. The windows themselves (the exterior, which I know is not easy to maintain with salt water and sand) were also VERY dirty, to the point where the view was obstructed. The hot tub would have been awesome but was not in great shape. The headrests are all broken. The water was clouded and foamed significantly when we turned it on. It had a "replace filter" message displayed from the first use and there was no way to test the water quality so we didn't use it as much as we might have. Great house overall. Lots of stairs! Mobility is a must. Crazy high fees that added nearly $2k to the week over the quoted nightly price. Never had that with a VRBO to that extent on any other property. Need better front door lock/unlock instructions.
