Fantastic location, house was perfect, pool and yard are just right for larger family especially those with kids and teens. Also great for fishing since can walk to sound. Had 4 teen boys with us and they loved location because rented bikes and road back and forth to fishing at sound, beach and shops in ducks. Highly recommend!!!!

We had such a wonderful stay! The owners were great to work with and were very attentive and responsive. They truly seemed to want to make sure you enjoyed your stay and had everything you needed.The property itself was great and had everything our family needed. During our 4 night stay, we couldn’t swim at the beach at all because of the dangerous rip currents. But it didn’t phase the kids one bit because with the pool and hot tub, there was still plenty of swimming to be done. And with the beach just a short walk away, we could still walk over and enjoy the view. We’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend this home to anyone visiting Duck!

Outstanding property. Host communication was excellent and the location was excellent. Everything was extremely clean, kitchen was well stocked with essentials, and pool/beach supplies were available for guest use. Literally a couple of minutes walk away from the public beach, and a parking permit is provided if you prefer to drive.

Great Multigenerational Homebase

We had my parents and my kids stay with us and the home was perfect for our needs. We cooked quite a bit at the house and it had everything we required outside of a crab pot and wine opener. Everyone slept comfortably, the home itself was very well decorated and maintained and the pool was a highlight. We enjoyed walking to watch the sunset at the sound but did drive to the private beach each day (sometimes there was no parking available). Fay was great to work with through the process. We made wonderful memories and would return.

Amazing Vacation

We have vacationed at OBX for the past 15 years. This house by far is the cleanest, most well equipped house we have rented. The home owner was quick to respond to all questions and provided great information regarding the area. We will be back!

Wonderful Time in the OBX

We all had a wonderful time. House is beautiful spacious & very well equipped. The pool & hot tub were great & put to very good use. It’s a short but pleasant walk to the beach. Crossing the Main street may take a little caution & time but we had no problem with it. Fay was easy to contact & got back to us timely on the few issues that we did encounter. The lights in & around the pool did not work & weren’t able to be fixed while we were there. We had a small issue with sugar ants near the kitchen which Fay addressed as soon as she could. The two families staying on the second floor did notice an odor that seemed like pet odor. I didn’t contact Fay regarding that as I wasn’t aware of it early in our stay. All in all we had a great vacation and have many wonderful memories to cherish. Thank you Fay for sharing your lovely home with us.

Just Perfect!

The house filled our needs perfectly! It was close enough to the beach to easily walk and the shops were also quite close by. The pool was and hot tub were also great for swimming and relaxing without the sand or having to leave "home." The kitchen was equipped enough to make meals as well, which we did. All in all it was an excellent property and we had a wonderful time :)

Amazing stay

First off I’d like to say Fay was wonderful. She made everything simple and was always responsive. The house was beautiful, clean and welcoming. Had everything we needed plus more. The pool and jacuzzi was amazing! Short walk to the beautiful beach. Would definitely book again at this property. The whole family enjoyed it. From ages 8-64.

Great Vacation Home

We absolutely loved our stay here. We appreciated the open communication Fay offered us during our vacation; that was much appreciated. This home met all our needs and the common spaces were great for some family time! We loved the shaded outdoor space and we greatly enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Lovely home and owner (a very responsive one!)

There didn't seem to be anything really missing that's included in this property: pool, hot tub, lots of hot water, beach and pool toys and equipment. The place was very clean, which isn't always the case, either. Just use caution when crossing the road, but drivers did stop. It's a short walk to the beach.

Wonderful family vacation

We absolutely loved our stay here. The home comfortably slept us 6 adults and the common spaces were great for hanging out / relaxing. We loved how private the property was and thoroughly enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Can’t forget about the short walk to the private beach! Hard to beat. Fay was amazing and super communicative. Everything we expected!

My family came for our first trip back to Duck after a couple of years not coming. The owner made the entire process of renting the property to accessing the property as simple as it could be. The property was wonderful. We had so much room. The house is gorgeous, clean and had all kinds of extras. We enjoyed the pool daily. The walk to the beach was short although you could drive over and park. We did both. The shops in Duck are a close walk and my teenage daughter and her friend made the trip on their own and enjoyed themselves. Overall wonderful experience and I highly recommend this property and owner to anyone.

Perfect first stay in Duck

First time in Duck and staying at this property made it an amazing experience! Fay was very communicative of what the property already had and what we needed to bring with us. Fun in Duck

We had an amazing time at Island Beach Cottage. The house was perfect for our extended family and we all enjoyed the pool. The house is in a great location with a short walk to the beach and to Duck. The house is well outfitted for the beach (the beach wagon was perfect for toting my toddler grandson) and for cooking. The owner could not have been more welcoming and answered questions promptly. This is a A+ property and I highly recommend it

Location is perfect! Walk or bike to sound, ocean or to town.

This property was amazing! Very clean with personal touches from owners. The location was perfect to bike or walk to the Sound, Ocean or town of Duck. If you rent house be sure to either bring your own bikes or rent them. The teenagers rode their bikes to the town a few mornings to the book store/coffee shop. They enjoyed coffee/tea and read books. The salt water pool was very refreshing. The house had many beach supplies available such as wagon, chairs, umbrellas and boggie boards. I usually stay right on the beach but the cost of staying on the beach is so expensive. I would rent this house again without question.
