The courtyard was very pretty around the fire pit. The front desk personnel was very friendly and helpful. Our first room smelled awful and the A/C was broken. They promptly found us another room, which was a lot nicer. It was very basic and didn't seem as nice as the pictures and the bathroom was very small. The coffee pot was barely working as well. We used the hot tub, which could have been very relaxing except the jets were turned up too high and water was splashing all over the place, in your face, hair and eyes, no matter where you sat and it was extremely hot.
Room not clean. Found hair in shower and bed.
Oceanfront was beautiful. We had a balcony facing the ocean. Staff was friendly and attentive.

The Hilton lived up to it's reputation. It was a quiet and clean property. Located next to gas stations, grocery stores, plenty of food and best of all on the beach, next to the pier! Two small mishaps - the indoor pool is heated but the room was drafty making it cold to be in the pool. The kids only last 30 minutes before shivering. On our arrival evening we did take out and decided to sit in the lobby restaurant; which was closed. With two children under the age of 5 it was very convenint to sit at a table to eat dinner. We were told we could not eat there with our outside food. This was a bit strict when there was only 1 person at the bar and No one else there sitting/eating/drinking. We were clearly a family with two small children. Another meaning to "following the rules by the book"! We took our food to the room, not the biggest deal but it did rub us the wrong the way on the lack of flexibility.

Families enjoy our easy beach access, the Kitty Hawk pier with panoramic views of the sea, and plenty of family friendly activities and attractions offered up and down the coast. Our guests also find value in having a microwave and mini fridge in their room and private balconies to relax while watching the waves roll to shore. Our onsite restaurant, like many other establishments, legally cannot permit any other food to come in from the outside due to liability reasons. Displacing you was not what we wanted to do, however it was a necessity. Luckily, we do have plenty of other comfortable areas either in the lobby in our outdoor courtyard or on our raised observation deck. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this caused you and the kids. We would love to host you and your family during your next visit to our wonderful town, so please keep us in mind for future.
