we went here for Christmas the whole package was a disgrace I've had more Christmas magic at our local garden centre. Basic rooms , food was foul we had potatoe wedges for Christmas dinner ? Strangest combination of food I've ever seen , everything was a shambles not organised properly they took snow suits and snow gear back 16 hours before we left the hotel. Went to see Father Christmas who was situated in the back of a cafe no magic what so ever!!!!! I've complained to Thompson who replied SORRY! That was it. 5 grand for 4 days wish I'd gone with a different tour guide and had a different hotel gutted is an understatement. The only plus was the area itself was beautiful and we got to see the northern lights.
Have spent a magnificent week in Levi, staying in the Sirkantahti hotel. Booked a double room without a kitchen as was looking for a pet-allowing property. The room was not too spacious, but had everything required, even a sauna, and a dryer for clothes and boards. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was included and was definitely above average - after a week we were still not bored. Location is maybe the most important quality when You are traveling fro skiing - this hotel was 10 minutes walking from the slope - perfect!
We stayed here one night after flying in to Kittila and before heading north. Three travelers, we booked a suite which featured a kitchen, sauna, couch, and even a clothes drying appliance. Those were all nice. But the suite in general and the bedroom in particular were very stark. The bedroom had no windows, and absolutely nothing on the walls. Traveler #3 was on the couch, not a cot or hide-a-bed. This is a very big complex with buildings all over. I suspect some of the other rooms may be nicer. The main lodge with bar and breakfast area is nice, and the breakfast buffet was very good.
I was in this hotel for 1 week and it was perfect. I was with my friends to discover culture and lapland's activities : there are many complementary travel activities like going skiing, cross-country skiing, or snowmobiling. You can see the nothern lights and it's magical and wonderful too. This hotel offers meals of quality with many choices : traditional cuisine of Finland with reindeer or french food like tomatoes salad with red onions. Ther service is good and the breakfast has many things like : bread, orange juice, milk, ham and eggs. When we arrived, we were offer a glass of hot red wine. Everything is provided to make your stay enjoyable.
Lapland hotel Sirkantahti is a good place to stay. Very centrally located. We were able to get an apartment which had a kitchenette and sauna. We loved the sauna. Everything was very clean and quiet. We would recommend this hotel. The northern lights were spectacular the night we spent in Levi.
This is a very good hotel in walking distance of all important spots in Levi. Nice and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast, very good diner. The rooms are nice furnitured, good beds, own sauna. The only small thing is that the cleaning could be a bit better.
Nice hotel with central location in Levi. Easy weith parking nearby and short way to shops and restaurant. Alsco easy acces by snowmobil. Good meeting facilities for a small group also. Nice room with acces fom outside.
We went to Levi with a group of friends. At the first morning we went to breakfest 10:01 a.m and asked if we could get something to eat. They collected all the foods away front of our eyes and laughed.
What should be there is there in a very clean perspective. Breakfast is really excellent. If you are in Levi this is for sure a valid alternative. Eventhough we were on the street side; no noice hinder at all was experienced.
We stayed in the Hotel Sirkantahti as a family of five during February half term. Not our first time to Finland (I am half Finnish) but our first time to the Arctic circle. We travelled on a Monarch Package which included a couple of very good excursions to the Snow Village and an Activity centre (taster rides on huskies, snowmobiles etc). Snow suits and boots were provided in the package and were excellent, and the staff in the warehouse provided lots of help in finding the right size. The Sirkantahti is basic but still quite a stylish hotel, the room we had featured three beds up a steep ladder and two downstairs. It was a little small for five of us but we probably brought too many suitcases for just the three nights! The sauna was small but excellent, and beds were comfortable. Very warm at night, we opened the window. We stayed Full board and thoroughly enjoyed the food, which was standard Finnish fare of good quality. Fish, meat, salad, fresh bread etc. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the scrambled eggs in the morning; they had a slightly sweet taste which was a bit too different for our kids! Coffee, tea and juices are provided at mealtimes on the full board package. Levi is close by, a very lovely and compact town with two decent supermarkets. Plenty of souvenir shops selling quality items, many made from wood. Lovely Sami style knives for sale from €20 upwards. Beer (for after your sauna) is expensive even in the supermarket but wine in the Alko is reasonable with plenty of options at the €7 mark.
