This was a disappointing and sort of mixed bag stay considering the high price tag (and I paid a lower rate since I booked decently far in advance). I was certainly not expecting luxury, and I have stayed in many similar motor inns with no issue or complaint, but this was really overpriced for an uncomfortable sleep. The good: the room was large, breakfast options were nice, floors were clean, there were enough towels, room had a fridge, nighttime check in person was nice, location was an easy drive into Portsmouth, parking was free. The bad: the door had a very large crack under the door that let bugs in all night, such that I walked in to a winged bug on the pillow and lots of winged bugs in the room. I ended up shoving towels into the crack to stop bugs from coming in. I tried to let the front desk know as I checked out in the morning, and the woman just sort of shrugged. The bed was extremely uncomfortable—it sagged in the middle and it felt like every spring was pressing through, so it appears the mattress in that room needs to be replaced. The bathroom had been cleaned, but the windowsills and corners and things were pretty grimy. Just overall, this stay did not match the reviews I read; maybe I had a bad room. In any case, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

We stayed in room 4 and the room was pristine. It looks like it has been upgraded. The shower was very small and the water coming out of the shower head was very little, at least was warm enough to take a shower. The bed was very squeaky. Other than that everything else was in pretty good shape.

The wifi connection in the room was very erratic. We were not told at check in that the router needed to be initiated. The continental breakfast offerings were exceptional, with more choices than usually expected. The motel is older, with some updating needed.
