Wish we had better weather at this charming guesthouse. The cottages were large and well appointed. Modern amenities with rustic charm Wish it had been warm enough to sit on the lovely porch. The owners provide you with information about the glacial filled lake and the name. This was definitely one of the best stops and breakfasts on our journey. They have a dinner service but we were a large group and decided to opt out on that. Highly recommend this guesthouse

We absolutely loved the Magma Hotel! We spent two nights here during our honeymoon tour and fell in love with this place. The cottages were modern and clean and all around beautiful. My only compliant was with the pillows they smashed flat against the mattress about two minutes into trying to sleep. The best part for us was the deck on the lake. We were fortunate enough to arrive on a warm and sunny day and got to spend several hours soaking up the lovely scenery. The breakfast in the morning was great and the dinners in the restaurant at night were amazing. You can't go wrong staying here and was hands down one of our most favorite places to stay so far.

What an awesome find! We had a perfect 'cabin' with a beautiful view. The hotel is super clean and modern. The grounds were very nice. Breakfast was fantastic! All the staff was very helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend Magma!

We were very pleased with our stay. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean and bright and pleasant. The breakfast was great. Such a nice atmosphere and the view from the grounds was beautiful. We were even lucky enough to catch some northern lights!

This hotel is simply amazing. It’s only 12 rooms total (all named after volcanoes in Iceland’s history), and you have no shared walls. Each room has a sliding glass door, a small table, and chairs to overlook the beautiful landscape. The rooms face the lake that’s on the edge of a volcanic field after an eruption. The water is glacial water that flows underneath the lake. It’s breathtaking! We saw the Northern Lights here after staying up late to try and catch a glimpse. Breakfast is a great spread, and they even have eggs and bacon. This is NOT something you’ll see every day in Iceland and much appreciated. They serve 1 dish for dinner and need to know by 530 PM if you’ll be joining. We were out exploring and didn’t have an opportunity to enjoy but I’m sure their dinners are great too.

Spent overnight in a fairly recently built small boutique hotel in a remote area by the sea. Each room is a separate “cabin” which was a hit worrisome when I first saw the photos. But in actuality, they were very nicely appointed with modern amenities Views were spectacular and staff was friendly. Breakfast was good and we’ll needed as there are not many choices in the area Didn’t eat at the restaurant as it only serves a one main course and we had opted against fish for the night but looked like a nice place in a cozy setting.

Our stay at Magma Hotel was incredible! The individual cabins were wonderful, you have your own personal space. You open the door to your cabin & there is a grand view out the back patio door to the lake! Every cabin has that view! The food was fabulous & served with such style, beautifully plated!! We definitely recommend a stay here! It was by far, the best accommodations we had!!!

The cabins were detached and overlooked a pretty lake and countryside. The roofs were grassed and the cabins finished externally with timber. Internally they were very well presented. The heated floors in the bathroom and living area were individually controlled which meant we could have a cool bedroom and warm bathroom - perfect. The large TV had Netflix, something I have never had before in a hotel. We ate at the hotel in their lovely restaurant, the Arctic char was excellent. Wine was available along with various beers, spirits etc - at a price (as usual in Iceland).

Great bird watching. Wonderful coffee machine. Great food friendly staff incredible views with a wonderful eco lodge that was awesome inside. Great books and binoculars in the room overlooking the lake. What a place to stay on the ring road. Great second. Isn’t out of the capital.

By far this was our favorite place that we stayed. The rooms are adorable. View of nice lake/pond with horses roaming around out our sliding door window. TV with Netflicks. Good breakfast. Mini-frig in the room. I wish we had more nights here.
