We liked the guesthouse. It was quiet and the breakfast was great. We got lucky and watched some Northern Lights, very little light pollution within the area. Everything was clean and in good condition.

More hostel than hotel

Pretty clean and the breakfast was a bonus but you must bring everything, no soap in the bathroom. My daughter’s bed collapsed, mattresses were really soft and the towels smelled musty. Not a place for bigger people, you have to squeeze to get into the shower and I was worried all night about the bed support. I would call this place a private room hostel, not hotel….name is deceiving.

This was our least favorite stay on our 11 day trip. The facility and the rooms are really run-down and are just not worth the price paid. The breakfast was mediocre and we did not appreciate being filmed during breakfast and having every guest asked what room they are in so they can charge you a full meal cost if you take a cracker to eat later. They also are very unorganized, stating they had no reservation for us and then finding it 5 minutes later.

An excellent guesthouse! We stayed here on the way back from Jokulsarlon. kirkjubæjarklaustur is only about 10min drive away, with lots of dining options. The room was spacious and clean. We had a room with a private bathroom, which was really convenient. The room stayed really warm, and we couldn't keep the window open wide enough to stay cool during the night... Breakfast was excellent!

Wonderful stay!

Loved the breakfast and quick and easy check-in process. The surroundings were beautiful and the nearby farm provided a nice opportunity to come close to horses.

The bed was very comfortable and it was really nice to have the toilet in the room. The shower was located just outside my room and the water temp/pressure were nice. I was basically just there to sleep. Check in was easy. Breakfast is available apparently but I had to leave early to get to my next tour on time.
