Chalk and Cheese overnight stay

Enjoyed my stay at Chalk and Cheese.Thebroom.was gone bathroom also.The owners were lovely people and the breakfast was good.Of I am in the area in the future would stop there again.

A real pleasure. Fabulous surroundings, lots of colour, plenty to feast your eyes on. Comfortable room, excellent hosts, wonderful breakfast with so much variety and great quality. Lovely hosts, felt very welcome.

Magnificent! A really great outing for the senses: comfortable, beautiful presented old school house with an antique shop in the playground, good parking, superb village location, convenient for the whole of west Norfolk and close enough to major routes for the rest of the county / region. Bridget and Andrew are excellent hosts, the breakfast was wonderful, wi-fi strong, and decoration throughout is marvellous. Very good value stay - top quality shower!! As ever, my best recommendation would be that I'd definitely stay there again, any time!

They seem to have thought of every detail to make your stay enjoyable, from sweet treats at the entrance to personalised breakfast options each morning. The rooms are beautifully decorated, with vintage touches. They’re clean, well-appointed, and each has its own unique character. And while Chalk & Cheese feels like a step back in time, it doesn’t sacrifice comfort—plush beds, soft linens, and modern amenities ensure a restful stay. Not managed to investigate the Antique shop yet, but will make sure I do on my next visit. Comfortable stay with lovely breakfast!

Comfortable, quirky and interesting accommodation. The people that ran it were lovely. The cooked breakfast was delicious! Good quality, tasty food. Would stay again if we were back in the area.

Absolute Gem!!

What a lovely place! Could not ask for anywhere more calm. Normally rushing round as was away on business but lovely breakfast with a cracking pub over the road for dinner. All appliances and bed in room were top quality and all in all an incredibly comfortable pleasant stay.

Great stay in a lovely quiet village

Lovely converted school building with an interesting interior and antique shop on site. No complaints. Made to feel welcome on arrive, the Chalk and Cheese is located in the pretty village of Shouldham. Room and house was very quiet and perfect for the stay. The local pub, Kings Arms, serves excellent food with friendly staff. Will use again, next time I am in the area.

Great place will return

Absolutely loved this place it was so quirky full of history and antiques breakfast was good and hosts were lovely And friendly we will definitely return ..no matter where you look. There was something of interest with an antique shop in the yard too ..not for someone looking for a modern hotel though walking distance to a nice village pub with good food ..highly recommend this place
