Clean, comfy beds,.... I really appreciated that the pool n hot tub stay open late (10-midnight) for adults only:) .. They offered a big delicious cookie late night..I missed the breakfast because I slept in. Really quite. I would definitely stay here again:)
We stated here as part of a FEMA medical team to assist with the victims of Hurricane Harvey. The hotel was clean and tasteful decorated. They offered a lovely complimentary breakfast. I would stay here again.
This hotel is comfortable, nicely kept, and off the beaten path. It is located near shopping, restaurants, and away from the never ending road construction in Temple. The front desk staff is very professional and accommodating. The hotel room itself also nicely maintained and clean. The bed was very comfortable. A complimentary breakfast with traditional fare was served. I was only here for 1 night, but I enjoyed my stay and I will stay here again when I have the opportunity.
Like most travellers I inspect my bed before laying down, I found a large spot of dried blood on my bed when I inspected it. This is not only a failure on the part of housekeeping but also who ever inspects the room after they are finished. I understand things get missed, but something that carries blood born pathogens that could get somebody sick is not okay! There are 10 people from my company staying here and all have had some type of problem from bugs in their rooms to dirty towels left from previous occupants. Not a place I would recommend.
This Fairfield Inn in conveniently located. Staff were helpful. Breakfast was the standard fare...nothing special...but not tragic either. I do wish Trip Advisor had a rating between Average and Very Good, I would give the hotel a good...and would stay here again.
We were going to leave to head to Hill Country on Saturday. Then we realized it was Spring Break and everyone would be on 35S on Saturday and decided to leave Friday night on Friday. We chose this place and it did not disappoint. The staff was really nice when we checked in. The room was big, clean, and quiet. I'm a Marriott Rewards member and use the app to book stays. Highly recommend the app too!
Room, and breakfast very nice. No complaints - just a place to crash on the way home from Austin, but it was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was the typical continental self-serve affair, but everything tased good.
On the third floor, I heard absolutely nothing all night. The room had everything you could ask for: coffee machine, iron, all the little bottles of shampoo and lotion, big TV, fridge, microwave. The breakfast was outstanding. Eggs, bacon, sausage, and excellent fruit, as well as all the things usually offered at hotel breakfasts. Coffee was surprisingly good. Mattress and pillows were comfy.
The hotel was clean, good location, quiet, average breakfast buffet included, refrigerator in rooms, free parking -- all the things I look for. But, personnel can really make a difference. Stayed at this property two different times during this past week. The first stay was for one night, the second was for 4 nights. I almost moved to another hotel for the second visit because the first was so disappointing. The front desk clerk for the first stay was so uninformed and had such a poor attitude it made the whole place look bad. I had pre registered for room on app and stood in line, had to show him my credit card and id, etc. Asked him what was point of the pre registration if still had to go thru this whole check in process? He mumbled something and said I was not registered on line at which time I told him I had received a notice that my room was ready a couple of hours before arriving. He said he had no record. Later we came down and asked if coffee in lobby was fresh and he said he did not know, he had not made any as he did not know how. We asked for creamer and he said he did not know what that was - just not a properly trained employee. The second stay of 4 nights began a couple of days later and Paul the front desk clerk could not have been more friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. When we gave him name he handed us key, told us about breakfast, had cookies baked, pointed out coffee bar, asked if we needed directions to any place, etc. This time had an executive suite and was very nice. The hotel seemed very clean and was extremely quiet. Do not have a complaint. A couple of changes I would like to see: get rid of those "rubber" omelets and fix it so the loud fan in the bathroom does not run every time the light is on.
Fairfield Temple - Immediately upon entry we could tell that this hotel had been remodeled to the new Fairfield standard to include the faux fireplace with the stone horse on the hearth! We were initially assigned room 308 (on the top floor). This room is much smaller than standard because it is situated behind the elevator shaft. Basically the elevator takes up about 1/3 of the available room floor space. A king bed is squeezed in to this room but a queen would fit better. Because of the size of the bed there isn’t room for an easy chair or ottoman. I’d reserved a room for two people and this room would really only work well for one person. We moved to a regular king on the second floor. This room had space for a small upholstered easy chair and ottoman on the side of the bed. They offer cookies in the afternoon weekdays and they are set out around 1700. The only ice machine is on the first floor. This hotel does not have luggage racks in the rooms. There is limited landing space as there are no benches so you are pretty much resigned to having to place your bags on the floor (never advised in any hotel) or on the cabinet that holds the TV. I know many Residence Inn and TownePlace Suites don’t have luggage racks but I was surprised to find a Fairfield that didn’t. They were able to find us some luggage racks from somewhere for our stay. When you turn on the bathroom light the exhaust fan also runs and that thing is loud - both the exhaust fan and the light are on the same switch. There were no wash clothes in our room - had to go to the front desk to get them. Apparently the housekeepers forgot. Paid internet (free for gold and platinum) was 9.5 MBpm down. Free internet was 1.7 MBpm download so there was a huge difference. Their coffee wasn’t very tasty - a little weak and bitter for me but I really liked their OJ. I also loved the Chobani yogurt choices. I’d have liked a raisin bran as a cereal choice. The homemade oatmeal was welcome. We ate toward the end of breakfast time each day and it was never dried out which means the attendant thins it but it was barely warm (this probably also prevented it from becoming overly thick). The eggs served were simply dreadful: watery bagged eggs and dried out, crusty cheese “omelets”.
