Booked into the Resort World Kijal for 5 days while on a business trip to the area. Have stayed at this resort before and this time have noted quite a few improvements since my last trip. There is now a very good, and free, WiFi service. Rooms are much cooler as aircons seem to have been serviced. Items of toiletry in bath / shower room as of good quality and varied. As usual the breakfast buffet is very good with a large selection and always plenty to choose from. I also eat at the Oasis Beach Bistro and have to say the service was prompt and the meal of good quality. Price was reasonable too. Improvements that i would suggest. I like to use the gym each day, but the equipment in the resort gym was old and not very varied. Also, the aircon in the gym was very poor and the heat in the gym took the enjoyment of working out away. The staff at the resort were very helpful and always polite with a smile to greet you. Would I stay here again - Yes.
Went here for a short weekend getaway with family. We only booked the lowest room category online, but were given seaview rooms complimentary. Staff were all very friendly helpful, only disappointments were the beach bbq, was barely any seafood, and the sea was quite choppy so couldn't do any watersports. Buggies were down and they had only 1 ATV working, which u can only ride on a boring grass track next to the beach. The swimming pool is big and kids pool with playground is great fun too. Food in the kampong restaurant was very nice, had buffet lunch and shell out dinner there. Very nice and worth the money.
I am a globe trotter. I have stayed in the worst and best of places-from the very best to the opposite end of the pendulum. I had reservations about this hotel for my work trip but chose it nonetheless and was surprised all the way. Here were the highlights: 1) Amazing staff at front desk, hainan & the beachfront restaurant. Not a word of complaint-obliging, willing and just very welcoming 2) Fantastic fish and chips (huge portion) at the beach front and loevly food and drinks at hainan. Kudos to ruslan and team who obliged us with things that we off the menu-like watermelon juice 3) Clean rooms, spanky clean bathroom-clean and crisp sheets 4) Amazing beach strip-clean, clear water-fishing going on at jetty-join the locals and catch one.Clean beach-hardly saw garbage 5) amazing faclities et up-large sized chess, volleyball, kids wet playground, etc. Could be improved: 1) at check in at night, morning room service trays were still out our room doors 2) breakfast cheese a tad stale on both days (22nd -24th july). Brekfast variety more for local palate. My colleagues from several different states who are also well travelled felt for a small town, this was a fabulous hotel
Been here for group discussion. Great ambient, nice food... with private for its guests, it was an added value for your stay. Guest can enjoy their outdoor activities too; bicycle, ATV, water activities, golf etc.
Staying 3D2N from 29/6 - 1/7 at 2 Deluxe Rooms. Good Front counter service. (Provide us with the king bed connecting rooms, although we don't realize the booking through Agoda is a normal twin bed room.) Big swimming pools and good breakfast. Suitable for a short family break. Plan to come again in the coming school holiday. Thanks
Stayed here on business for a couple of days. Main foyer is absolutely stunning, service was ok. Food is quite westernised and of a fairly decent standard. Rooms are very basic and badly in need of refurbishment. Hotel grounds are lovely and location is right beside a stunning white sandy beach.
This hotel is the only business hotel for the many visitors to Kerteh involved in the oil and gas industry. Effectively, it operates as a near-monopoly. Prices are equivalent to top 5 star hotels in KL. The margins must be huge. The hotel is tired, but worse, service is poor to non-existent. I will elaborate. There were no waiters to be seen at the breakfast buffet between 6.30 and 7.15am when my colleagues and I were there, not even to check room numbers or seat guests. The only staff were manning the noodle and omelette stations. I was shocked that a bird had died on the hot plate for bread (see the 2 photos attached). It was only about 7.15am that I saw a staff nearby and informed her. She just picked up the bird. There was only 1 staff at reception 6.30-7.15am. There was no door man or bell boy and bundles of the day's newspapers had been left by the supplier at the porch. No one was there to assist with bags. At night, there was loud music from the beach cafe or somewhere nearby. As I was in a sea view room, it was impossible to sleep until midnight, despite having to catch an early morning flight the next day (there are no return flights from Kerteh to Kuala Lumpur in the evening on certain days, and this helps channel captive customers to the hotel; there were 10 of us from different companies attending the same meeting, and staying overnight; others travelled 2 hours to Kuala Terengganu to fly back). To add to the woes, the bathroom had a stale smell, and the toilet didn't flow well.
I spend time here with my 2 kids. They love playing at kids swimming pool area, like mini water theme park. At this resort, many activities offered, so u never get bored staying here. I also enjoy 'me time' at open Jacuzzi. However, the overall look of this resort is backdated and need a lot of improvements.
I stayed here couple of times. My last visit before I came here again recently was about six years ago. I stayed here with my family during the Eid Mubarak holiday week. We booked two connecting rooms facing the seaview. We love the rooms, very beautiful scenery and we could see the sunset from our rooms. Very impressive room in term of cleanliness and presentation. We received warmth welcome from the hotel staff and he helped us with the luggage. Quick and smooth check in. All the staff are nice and very helpful. We had late dinner at Hainan. Very good service and the foods were good and tasty. The whole compound is well kept and clean. I like the beach too. We had a la carte dinner at Kampong Restaurant for two nights. We had nasi goreng shell out. Highly recommended. the deserts were good too. Very scrumptious dinner. I think if you are looking for a place to rest, nice room and staff and beautiful beach this is the place. The other thing is turtle watching at night at RM70.00 per person if you are interested. Now my other comments: 1. I think if you are a golfer, you are lucky because this is the only useful activity that you can do here. The compound looks big because the resort is surrounded by golf course. 2. There are swimming pools and open jacuzzi as well.. 3. Common Sauna is available at level one (which is pool level) 4. If you are gym goers, this is not the place. The equipment is really old and some of them lack maintenance. I noticed the chest machine couldn't be used because something stuck above the weights. Basically the gym need improvement. I give 1/10 rating. 5. Breakfast - my first day was disappointing. The good things are half boiled eggs, teh tarik and whole meal bread is available. Second day I saw some improvement. For the hotel rates, I think they should prepare better spread of breakfast. Pleas visit other hotels for improvement e.g. Renaissance KB, Istana hotel KL and Royal Chulan KL. I cannot compare with 5 stars like Shangri La (KL) etc. 6. Cycling and some other outdoor activities - this part, I am upset because no proper track to do cycling. Very bad because we cannot go around the golf course. need improvement in this part. 7. Internet is slower compared to hotels that I have been (same class) 8. Staffs are excellent, except at the outdoor activity (less helpful when I complained about the cycling track and request for map). If you are just want to play golf, or just want to have a peaceful place to rest (but don't want gym, running) but just like swimming -- this is the place. As for me, resort like this should provide jogging track and good gym. For me to come again?? since I am from Kuantan, I have a lot of choice around Kuantan e.g. Cherating (de rhu Kuantan has better pool and outdoor activity), I can go to Swiss garden hotel etc. It is not in my top list to re visit this place I appreciate that the management welcome feedback from the guests. It was a good stay but not fulfilling my preference for resort. I really appreciate the bathroom with all dental kits etc, mineral water as compliments, clean towels, flat screen tv with clear reception and prayer mat (wrapped nicely in plastic bag)
We stayed here because it's near our plant. I guess it's the same for other guest I see wearing their high visibility uniform. I stayed for 2 nights, had 4 meals and a walked along the beach in the morning. The break fast buffet was impressive. They try their best to maintain the hotel but it still look tired and dated.
