The royal Olympic hotel had a great location and the food was nice. The room was smaller then it looked on the photos but clean, Receptionists could of been a little more friendly. But a nice enough place if you out most of the time exploring
Booked this for the champions league final through getaroom. In spite of emailing both parties twice to confirm my room prior to flying to Kiev they decided to cancel on me the night before I was due to arrive. Useless. Me and 2 friends were left with nowhere to stay the night before because of complete lack of courtesy from both parties. Never again.
I was supposed to be staying there from wednesday until sunday but they cancel my weekend reservation so they can overprice it which is unethical, so i stay only wednesday night and the hotel is small but fine the staff is not friendly and they charge me for a lost PLASTIC key which is miserable. Do not recommend it
My first attempt at posting has been taken down by Trip Advisor because it said it wasn't "personal experience" so I'll re-post what is, and has been, personal experience so far. I booked this hotel via a reputable travel company, who then received a letter which they forward to me saying the booking had been cancelled because of a computer virus. They added that the hotel would be "closed" over the weekend of 25th-28th May. I emailed the hotel myself but nearly three weeks later have not had the courtesy of a reply. All of the above is personal experience, and I would not wish to recommend booking this hotel.
Booked hotel for Champions League Final so then decided to book flights. Then the hotel email to say please cancel due to computer virus (they were completely full). After pleading with them, they offered me their sister hotel at a good rate, a good rate being NINE-TEN TIMES MORE!!!!!!! Planned to take the family here later in the year, but will instead be giving our money to another hotel that hasn't tried to get 9-10 x more money. Such a shame that Uefa has given Kiev this opportunity to increase their economy, yet certain places can't resist greed.
I booked my trip to Kiev on May 1st before the sudden inflation of hotel prices because of the CL final. I am travelling with my young child of 4 years old to watch the match. I can not believe that you have cancelled my booking a week before we are set to travel - due to an apparent “computer virus” which has caused double bookings?! It’s disgusting and inhumane on your behalf. Re-booking the room at £220 a night - opposed to the deal got at £220 for 6 days. I now have to find somewhere for my young child and I to stay with a week left before we fly. It can take up to 15 days for the money to go back into my account. I’m a hard working and honest man. I don’t deserve to be treated like this. I’m stuck now and haven’t yet told my child that his dream of watching his favourite team play and maybe win a trophy might not be happening - I can’t afford to pay £1000/£2000 for a hotel. It’s rotten and it stinks. I will however be reporting you to local authorities. Unbelievable.
I had an absolutely great stay: the location is great, the staff is friendly, the rooms are clean. I want to say special thanks to Sasha and Tanya from the front desk, They mad my stay very comfortable! THANK YOU
It's an old fashion hotel, remind me about USSR. The breakfast was really poor. Not worth 150UAH. Some guest bought food at a local supermarked and only had Tea or coffe in the restaurant. The staff had poor English knowledge and some was not very polite.
When it comes to a hotel - it's not bad, pretty clean and convenient. For me too much gold everywhere ;) Area is not perfect - hotel is located next to the night club. But it is really close to city center. Receptionist could be also nicer to guests. It's just ok hotel if you don't have any high expectations.
I had previously stayed at this hotel a number of years ago and it was quite pleasant although there was work going on at that time to create additional rooms. We thought that it would be worthwhile to revisit to see how it had improved but it really hadn't. Our room was dated, furniture had tears and rips in it, the wallpaper was peeling from the walls and generally it felt and looked dirty. We were only staying one night so it was not a massive issue as we only intended to sleep there, but at the cost it really is in desperate need of renovation. The terrace was used for a wedding at the time, which was ridiculously loud until around 11pm and didn't help when we had a small child who we needed to get to sleep. I've had mixed experiences with this group of hotels and unfortunately this was one negative experience too far.
