Staff speak decent english. Hotel is modern and clean but lacks amenities. Restaurants and room service is mediocre. Breakfast is included which is buffet style. Lacks variety. Front desk staff are the best. Wait staff lack the necessary service skills.
The Kiev CityHotel is conveniently located on walking distance from the very city centre. The recently renovated hotel has a luxurious ambiance. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Alle amenities needed are there. Beds are good, big and comfortable. And so is the very clean bathroom equiped with nice products. The hotel has a topfloor restaurant with a nice view on the city. Good service by a friendly and skilled team in the restaurant where breakfast, lunch and dinner is served. The menu offers a nice variety of dishes all of good quality and tasty. When crossing the lobby you will find a nice and modern, also renovated, bar where you can enjoy meals and drinks. This hotel is recommended for both business and tourism purposes.
Can someone please give the staff at the hotel the medal of excellence? Kiev was my last destination on route back to Istanbul - I never knew I had to come here nor knew how wonderful the people of this city are. I am a film editor, i cut movies all over the world - these are really the most wonderful people i've met in my travels. they are humble, they are nice, this batch of staff in this hotel deserve to be in hotels which I can't mention here. I want to thank Svetlana, Julia, Kristina (next year's top model), Olga, and all you superstars there. Thank you for making my stay so wonderful :)
The hotel have a nice location and the room we were staying in was very nice (even if it didn't have the balcony stated in booking site SuperSaverTravels). We were staying for six nights and were frequent to the roof top restaurant with amazing view over the city. Breakfast included was okay but nothing more. During our stay things for 300 euro were stolen from the room. When packing we checked everywhere, in every bag, pockets etcetera and once again when arrived at our second destination. We reported the belongings missing to hotel reception but haven't heard anything back from them. My rating comes from this bad experience because staying in hotel should be safe. It's hotel manager's job to make sure it's safe and in this case they failed in doing so.
I have staid in the hotel with my colleges for 2 nights. We arrived at 11AM and even that we didn't pre-order early check in - we staff prepared 3 rooms for us in less than 15 min. The staff were very nice, professional and willing to help on any request. Room is nice and clean. Bed was one of most comfortable that i have slept in. Restaurant is on 15 floor with very nice view but the breakfast is poor. Omelets or fried eggs are not an option - well you can order to the room but you will need to pay for it. Location is perfect - city center. Overall we have enjoined our stay and this hotel will be for sure one of preferred choices.
Was in this hotel for the first time. It's in a nice and quiet area. Check-in was quick and with the usual items such as a copy of the passport and of your credit card (?). This was new to me but this is Eastern Europe so I guess it's normal. The room was nice with good beds and enough space for some work as well. Good air conditioning and WiFi. There is a mini bar with drinks that come with reasonable prices. Bathroom is large with a nice walk-in shower. A good stay for a good price. Breakfast is included and offers a nice choice of eggs, meat or yogurts. Prep your own coffee from a decent machine or just ask for a freshly brewed espresso.
This is a very comfortable hotel in the center and close to a metro station (near the botanic garden). I was pleased by the ladies at the reception which were always very friendly and helpful and in addition could speak very well English. I had a room at a high floor with good view over the city. The rooms are large and have all the usual comfort of a high class hotel. The restaurant (for breakfast and dinner) is located at the 15 th floor and has a nice view over the city. Internet works perfectly and several devices (such as 2 laptops and 2 mobile phones) can be used simultaneously. It is possible to have dinner at the restaurant. The food is very good but the price is unfortunately too high (2 x higher than compared to outside the hotel) to do this on a daily basis. The elevators are unfortunately too slow.
Excellent hotel in Kiev! Offering inexpensive transfer from/to any airport in Kiev. Breakfast was on of the best I have ever encountered, something for everyone will be on the plate. Rooms were spacious and clean, view from higher floors was gorgeous, so evening drinks in the restaurant will be spectacular. Also nice option to have take away breakfast if departing early. It was excellent!
I stayed there for two nights while on business trip. I was upgraded to a higher room category (not sure how it is called though) with extremely large room, bathroom with bath tub and shower. The restaurant which is on the top floor offers good food for both breakfast and evening meal. Night views over Kiev skyline are really nice to watch. The area gets a bit of traffic during the day so expect some delays in getting in or out by taxi. There was also a construction going on in the building next door which didn't have impact on my stay as I stayed above that building. It's a definitely good place to consider for stay in Kiev.
I'm staying at City Hotel any time I'm arriving to Kiev. The hotel is close to my office very convenient for me. The hotel staff are very good and committed to their gusts. The breakfast is OK the room is comfortable and big enough with a lot of light.
