I have been staying in some of the resorts within this area, and this place is the best among all. Small family run business and the owners are so caring and helpful. All facilities you need like chain hotels. Amazing environment, all 4 villas are on the lake side. Large, well maintained villas, reasonable price, nice local style breakfast with great ambience. There is also the cafe sharing the property terrace with cozy area for resting. However, at night the place is peaceful and relaxing.
PROS *Great helpful wonderful staff. They picked us up at the van stop on the highway.(we came by minibus from Pattalung town) They even drove us to have dinner because we didn't have a car. I cannot say enough good things about them. I lost my camera on the van coming over and though we never found it the staff went out of their way to call and try to track ot down *all rooms are on the water and have a view of the lake(only 4 rooms) *the included buffet breakfast had a variety of items to suit every taste *take the 3 hour early morning boat ride around the lake for 300 baht per person. Well worth it *it is peaceful and quiet. *we definitely recommended it to our friends.
The hotel is a homestay rather than those ones with full services. It is managed by a small lovely local family. Facilities are not great but the services is heart warming. All staffs are friendly and caring with a touch of Thai-countryside-kindness. The hotel was flooded when we went. However, we decided to go anyway and we are glad we did. It was adventurous from the beginning as we had to park our sedan somewhere high and waited for a 4 wheel-drive iconic Pajero to pick us up. The car basically drove on the flooded water and we spotted a snake escaping from the flooded road. In the bedroom, we spotted a wasp so we asked a staff to help. While waiting, a gecko came out to help by trying to eat the wasp. The man arrived, came in in time to see the gladiator show and joined in the battle. At some point, the wasp disappeared and suddenly appeared again on the man bum. I grabbed a tissue paper box and slapped it where the insect landed (yes, I hit a stranger’s bum with a tissue paper box). It was hilarious. Breakfast was local and fresh. The view in the morning is amazing. If you think you are down to earth enough to sleep with local insects - go for this place.
