We had a nice stay at The Edwardene B&B in Keswick. The location is excellent — just a short walk into the town centre — and the free on-street parking nearby was a real bonus.
Breakfast was good overall. The first morning was good quality with local ingredients, and the second day, the eggs Benedict was a highlight. The breakfast staff were cheerful and friendly, which made for a pleasant start to the day.
We also appreciated the quiet guest lounge, which was a comfortable space to relax and the lovely local toiletries in the bathroom.
There were just a couple of minor negatives for us. Our room was in the rafters and a little awkward to move around in, especially as we’re both tall. Also, the very early breakfast times finishing at 9am and the 10am checkout felt a bit rushed — particularly on a Sunday. After a hard week at work, we’re not early risers at weekends for these reasons plus after an evening in the local ale houses we were quite tired, so this might not suit everyone.
Overall, these were small points in an otherwise enjoyable stay. The Edwardene is a welcoming, well-located B&B and we’d recommend it to others visiting Keswick.
