Our case is still pending investigation answers, but this newly built property had a terrible cockroach infestation. We lost groceries because the roaches were getting *inside* the fridge! Contacted the owner and did not hear back for a day. No resolution offered and was told pest control was scheduled for after our checkout, which was still 5 days out. With nowhere else to go, we changed our flight and had to check out early. We flew standby and stayed here because we had a family emergency and needed to be close to Hilo and the medical center. This property and the owner was not worth the price or hassle, especially since I had to go buy roach spray and spent hours cleaning out dead bugs every day, including coming home to a half alive roach when our teen pulled back her blanket. Deep cleaning, ongoing pest control maintenance, and better communication would go a long way. Hopefully this is corrected soon because I feel awful for any future guests.
Tried to cook breakfast and ended up needing to dine out because roaches kept crawling out. Two even crawled right on the stove toward my pan of eggs
Found roach eggs everywhere especially in the kitchen. Daily. Even after cleaning every morning and night.
