Have stayed here four times and have met people who have stayed here for ten or more times. The service is low key but friendly. Dil's sons and daughter are very nice. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and there's definitely a family style atmosphere. Every once in a while some rude kids will come through the courtyard at 3am and ring the temple bells and wake up the dogs, but that's rare. Mostly, it's quiet and in a very authentic location in Sorakhutte/Thamel. Easy walking to Thamel and Chhatrapati, loads of good shops.
It was enough good; the owner was nice and kind, the hotel was out of Thamel but not far and it's nice chance because at night you can sleep calm😊 we had some problem at the first we arrived, because we ask them to come and pick up use and we told them we will arrive at them but when we arrived nobody wasn't there, so we wait 30 minutes and we didn't know what can we do,then one person help us and try to call them and after call he arrive around 1 hour and half later,so we wait 2 hours and we don't know if that man doesn't help us how many hours we have to wait for him?! They said welcome to us with special flowers and it was nice and help you to believe you are in Nepal😊bwhen i compare this hotel with the other one i should say the room was not so clean, they were enough ok!the breakfast was really nice and delicious 😊 and at the end he reserved tickets for us for bardia and he followed us until the bus and it was so nice, but we meet some other tourist and we speak about the price of tickets and it was so different and we pay more than them but i hope the seller was honest with us😉 so i recommend this hotel for tourist ❤
Every time you feel like home! Anything you ask Puja provides so thank you 1000 times. From the food to the comfortable night rest recomended. Also trekking bookings and airport pick ups available. I came for 3 nights and overstayed 10.
Very cool guesthouse with all poles living near Tamel, but not in Tamel. Within walking distance are fruits, juices, Nepali hard cheeses and Bhaktapur yogurt, and for serious lovers of civilization there is a supermarket. For the first time, I can really say that I made friends with the owners of the hotel: Dil and Puja. Wonderful people willing to help, suggest and tell about the culture of Nepal, in general, found solid advantages. Will definitely come back here!
Staying at Metro Eco feels like coming home and staying with family. Dil and Pooja are so incredibly kind. From the moment Dil picked me up from the airport I felt nothing but a genuine warmth from him. Arriving at the hotel I met Puja, who’s smile and radiance is infectious. They truly go above and beyond. Staying at the hotel is absolutely worth it just to meet these beautiful people! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
We felt at home during our stay in Kathmandu! Puja is very kind, her smile is the sunshine of this hotel :) Professional staff, lovely breakfast, perfect location. Everything was great! We definitely recommend this hotel.
with budgeted price, room is tidy and clean; foods are very good, staff are friendly. price is cheap, most suitable for back packer, room price including euro style breakfast, and the taste of breakfast is good, quantity of the breakfast if big enough. On the other hands,, we may also have lunch or dinner at the roof floor, price is cheap but foods are good. hot water is available at anytime, it is also a selling point to a low-price hotel in Kathmandu. although price is low, room is tidy and bed, bed-sheet.....are clean. Staff here is friendly, they asked me opinion on foods and have improvement when hey listened my comments. with such low price, it is an idea hotel for back packe.
The hotel is owned by Mr. Dil Bahadur Chetri and his wife Mrs. Pooja. The hotel is located near the tourist hub of Thamel and well connected to other parts of Kathmandu. Besides wonderful hospitality of owners, Pooja cooks delicious food and both are always eager to help travelers by recommending some good places to visit/explore based on one's taste. Highly recommended.
I can't speak more highly of the experience I've had with Dil and Puja at the Metro Eco Hotel and their associated business of Adventure Metro Everest Travel and Treks. I will try my best to write a coherent review. I met Dil while looking for a Nepali SIM card at the Adventure Metro and the genuine warmth at which he welcomed me to the country made me come back for a chat. He mentioned he had a hotel so I went to stay. The hotel is better than any you will find in the city but I guess it depends on what you're after. It's not a hostel, but a place you can go to and feel at home with some brilliant people. So, some things that I think are important for people to know and the hotel as well as Dil and Puja.. 1) They speak insanely good English and will be able to help you if you need it. 2) You will be fed if you are hungry and have tea and water if you are thirsty. 3) The hotel has fantastic sanitation. 4) It's close to transportation around. Kathmandu and Central to the city itself (10 minute walk to Thamel). 5) You won't find better connected tour guides in the whole of Nepal (if you want to believe me). 6) It's very affordable at $10-20 USD per night depending on the number of beds you want. For these reasons I can highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kathmandu. Cheers, Casey
Dil, the owner of both the travel agents and hotel, could not have helped me and my father more (on separate occasions) in changing flights and organising treks. A great and humble service from a lovely man.
