Nice guesthouse

Good hotel / hostel, with nice staff and a decent restaurant. Not in Thamel, but in a commercial zone very close to it.

Prisvärt Hostel när centrum.

Billigt boende nära Thamel , fem minuters gångväg. Enkelt men väldigt prisvärt. Kändes mycket säkert. Mycket trevlig personal som var mycket hjälpsamma Enkel men bra frukost som serverades i solen på roof-Top .Rekomenderas.

We really enjoyed our time at Famous House. Sanjay is a great guy and was always eager to help - he picked us up at the airport, arranged a full day tour of Kathmandu, and helped us with travel arrangements - he made our stay really special and we're grateful for his kindness. Would definitely come back.

Canny manager, U will pay three times higher

I come here by reviews, but actually the price of this place three times higher in comparison with quality and manager always try make money from U, in the other place its free. I recommend Zen Bed and Breakfast. And U will be happy. Manager is canny. Don’t believe him

You will not get a room, which you booked

Hostel is clean with nice comfortable rooms, if you can get room, which you want. I made booking here for a 3-person room, but they gave me dorm instead of this! After this I reserved a separate room for my friends, but they gave a 3 places in 4 bedded room with a 1 person already here. It's hard to make deal with them, I will never return.

Nice hotel, close enough to town

We enjoyed our stay, we wanted an authentic experience and that's what we got! The power would cut in and out sometimes, there was no hot water but they were working on it. Did not see any tourists where we were so it was far enough away from Thamel but only a short walk. Staff were lovely and very helpful..

I had a wonderful stay at this hostel. Stayed for 14 days there, and was really welcomed by their staff and the owner. Met a lot of interesting people at their roof top, and had awesome meals too. The hostel is not exactly in Thamel but it's 5 minutes walking from it, from all bars, restaurants, stores, bakerys and night life. The staff from the hostel helped me to book my trekking that was perfect and with all the other travels and adventures i did in Nepal.

My friend and I stayed in this hostel for 3 nights. First night, we were very satisfied with the mixed dorm and cleanliness in bathrooms when we stayed at second floor. After arrival, I did mention to receptionist that we wanted to go out around 5am the next morning as I had booked a day tour, I was told reception could be 24 hours. I thought so...... The next morning, the gate of hostel was locked, I could not find anyone at 5.15am when I went to the reception. Ended up, I found the back wooden doors could be opened and we climbed out from the back gate. It was funny! We moved to double room after the first night, it was on first floor. Something happened on the second night, it terrified me! Well, we forgot to lock our room. I was sleeping very well until someone was touching on top of my blanket around 3.40am, he was sitting next to my bed, after a while he stood up and watching I slept for few minutes. I was so scared, kept pretending sleep and wondering would he be leaving soon. But NOT! Suddenly, I decided to scream like hell, then the guy ran out quickly. We told the receptionist what happened the next morning, but he said that he opened door for a drunkard around 3am, he suspecter it was the drunkard. I could tell it was not a drunk guy as he ran very fast when we shouted. But until now, we didn't know who's the guy. It was a very scary night for me!!! About the bathroom cleanliness at first floor, it was dirty.
