I could not leave a better review of our stay at Hotel Dalai-la. The staff here are beautiful and will make your stay an absolute pleasure. From the meals, to the rooms, to the location, to the hospitality you will not finder better value in Kathmandu. The staff members here took care of me when I was injured and even spent the night at the hospital with me. The manager Tenzing constantly went out of his way to make sure I was ok and we were well taken care of. Much appreciated to everyone at Dalai-La for making our stay an excellent one! I'm a month late leaving a review I'm afraid. Myself and my husband were visiting my son in Nepal as he works in Surkhet. He, and his girlfriend, knows this hotel well as he uses it when travelling to Kathmandu. My first impression was WOW! It is really lovely and luxurious looking with great attention to detail and also a world away from the madness of Kathmandu. I stayed in 203 which was a lovely room and there is air conditioning thank goodness. Oh, make sure you shut the door properly or an alarm goes off-oops! I didn't visit the gym, gallery or yoga unfortunately. We ate there few times and the food is varied and fabulous. We drank there often, we discovered Ghurkha beer-our new favourite lager. I loved the Eggs Benedict. Purists will say it's not Eggs Benedict but I think it should always be served that way. We visited Surkhet then came back to Dalai La for our last day. This time we got room 104 which was even more fabulous. The staff were amazing, so friendly and efficient. Apparently the owners wanted to build a hotel that they would love to stay at and they have hit the nail on the head.

Love the surrounding of this Hotel. Rooms were big n clean! And they have live band on every Friday and it’s very nice to chill down here. This place was recommended by a friend and would definitely come back again the next time we come to Nepal

My friend and I stayed here before and after trekking Thorong La-Pass. Rooms are sparkling clean and very comfortable, the location is perfect - in de middle of Thamel (main travellers hub in Kathmandu), the amenities were great for me (I used the yoga studio a lot during the day when there were no classes on) but above all hospitality of the staff was outstanding. The staff are kind and very accomodating to any request we had. The hotel organised our trekking to Thorong La-Pass and did an amazing job making sure our trek was a once in a lifetime experience. Always staying in touch to make sure that we had everything we needed and flexible enough to make amendments to our itinerary when needed. All in all, we had an amazing experience with this hotel and couldn't have wished for a better base for our Nepal adventure.

To be honest, after viewing so many good reviews, we expected more from this hotel. Yes, it's very good situated and have very nice staff. Unfortunately the rooms aren't the cleanest ones. Also à la carte breakfast is just average. That's why we can't give more than 3/5. We really appreciate staff who was always ready to help, but it's not enough for higher rating at all.

We stayed at the Dalai- La hotel for a week. The hotel is in a wonderful typical Napal building, is very comfortable and clean, excellent location, very good food- we highly recommended it !!! What I want to particularly emphasis is the amazing staff. I broke my foot in a motorcycle accident and could not walk. I can not say enough regarding how the staff went out of there way to help. A representative of the hotel went with us to the hospital, stayed with us the whole time, helped us with the police, kept on asking what they can do to help and in their kind manner took care of all our needs. We really felt at home!!

We traveled as a group of 11 women and stayed here for most of our trip. It was so inviting even just walking into the court yard. They have clean rooms and bathrooms. The service is the best I've ever seen! The food is delicious. My favorite thing was just sitting out in the court yard for breakfast in the morning. They had live music also on Friday night. The location is great and I always felt safe at this hotel. Only place to stay in Kathmandu!

DalLaiLa is in the center of #thamel #kathmandu It is really a heaven from all the chaos outside. Seconds from all shopping and restaurants. The food and services of the hotel are really good. I witness the owner of the hotel reminded one of the staff to help a customer to carry the luggage upstairs. The owner clearly paying attention to details. Best #Ashtanga classes in town with very good instructors. Management kindly upgraded my standard room to a penthouse suite because of my girlfriend's birthday. We had unforgettable memories from this place.

This is my second time to stay at Dalai-la Boutique Hotel and the quality of the experience has stayed the same. I love how most of the staff from two years ago are still there and they treat me more like guest in their home unlike most hotels I stay with. The rooms are always kept well and really feel relaxing and comfortable. They have complimentary yoga classes for their guests right inside the hotel premises. The owner of the hotel is usually around the outdoor dining area and he's always friendly and accommodating to me and the other guests. The managers at the front desk always go out of their way to help me out - be it finding a good place to buy trekking shoes or as simple as getting really good recommendations for local authentic places to eat. I highly recommend Dalai-la Boutique Hotel to any traveler who wants a refuge from the hustle and bustle of Thamel.

Many thanks to the staff and management of Dalai-La Boutique Hotel. The owners Prem and Juni were gracious and accommodating to our whole group. The rooms were clean and well maintained with fresh drinking water supplied everyday. I cannot say enough about how polite and efficient the waitstaff and cooks were. The front desk staff was amazing as well-always willing to help and give advice. The lovely courtyard restaurant is truly an oasis in the middle of bustling Thamel. Thank you to all!
