Our extended family of 14 including the tiny tots stayed @ the Soaltee for a week from 18th - 24th April. The hotel all the amenities of a 5 Star with 3 restaurants, a huge swimming pool,Conference hall & even a Casino. The rooms were well kept & comfortable & the breakfast had a huge spread. The only drawback was that the pool was too cold to swim in. They definitely need a heated pool. Otherwise our stay was very comfortable.
Checked in on 4th may 2017, service of the hotel was very ordinary, specially the in-charge of the restaurant was over smart & ill behaved, the keys of our rooms (6) became in-operative several times during the stay of 2 days, the food was pathetic & non edible, thank God we carried snacks from India.
Unfortunately we have experienced many failure during our last stay. We have booked for 2 adults , but all amenities including tea-coffee maker and toiletries for 1 person. Mini bar was not provided. Bathroom shower not working properly also have installation problem. Hot-cold mixer do not work properly. And most IMPORTANT while entering the hotel main gate the security guard stopped our taxi and asked something in Nepali language and when we said that we do not understand it ,, he said .. If you come to Nepal then you should speak Nepali in a very rude manner and uttered some abusive language .( 14th evening) No bread refills during breakfast !!!
One of the great hotel kathmandu, good service and comfortable room and bed. Serve international breakfast. Hotel also cater with few different type of restaurant. Nice view, you will need transport from airport to reach this hotel.
Crowne Plaza Hotel Kathmandu-Soaltee it is about 2 miles (3 km) of Kathmandu Durbar Square and Taleju Temple. The hotel is surrounded by gardens which alleviate the massive pollution of Kathmandu. They serves buffet breakfast, available for a fee from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM. The food was very good and the waiters service always caring. The room was clean and comfortable. All the hotel staff were friendly, professional and performed their jobs efficiently and effectively. I have to say that from the bellhops to front desk to housekeeping and of course, at the restaurant they are warm and accommodating. This hotel have an outdoor pool, free self parking, and a health club. Fee for in-room wireless Internet: US $12 per 24-hour period. Airport shuttle fee: US $ 25 per vehicle (one way) . Overall this hotel fulfilled our expectations.
The hotel is existing for several decades although the management changed in between. It's basic attractions like huge compound with well maintained garden, the well appointed rooms, the casino have remained in tact. The human side of this iconic hotel is just amazing. Customer centric approach at every contact point like entrance gate, reception, rooms and restaurants made us feel happy and delighted. The weather favoured us for a clear mountain view from the specific flight. The Pashupatinath darshan was smooth and peaceful due to introduction of new systems and processes in the temple. All in all a very delightful experience except for the dusty and bumpy roads with traffic congestion in Kathmandu city.
Every time I come to Kathmandu I stay in different hotel to explore the quality and service they offer with the cost This time I preferred Soaltee. The feedback is as follows Ambience - one of the best hotel with higher quality ambience . It is a mix of different architectural style and massive lavish green lawns . Yes you really have quality ambience to wander inside the hotel premises . It tops the Chart Reception - very fast and simple . If you book prior it is a cake walk checkin . Rooms - there are 2 buildings I stayed in the main one in 5th floor . Good ambience and pretty clean and neat in all aspects . Quality of wifi speed , bathrooms are appreciable Dining Kakori- near swimming pool and offers exquisite cuisines from punjabi, Kashmiri, Rajasthani all Indian cuisines Garden terrace - in the ground floor main building offer buffet during breakfast and dinner and a-la-carte also Alfresco- Italian cuisine like Sardinia , Emilia etc Chinese restaurant- Chinese regional delights including Korean , Vietnamese,Cantonese, szechwan Rodi bar - variety of wines , high end scotches operates till midnight Gym - there is a small gym in the basement in the basement shopping arcade . Good one and decently maintained Shopping arcade - in the basement of annexe building and it hoses small outlets for local shopping Swimming pool- outdoor one , big and clean . Kids pool is also there with lifeguard on duty. Should enjoy if you are coming with family It holds service like ATM , travel desk support , beauty parlour etc . To tell it is not a hotel it is a mini complex for all inhouse guests. Strongly recommended for stay for people with family from other countries .
This is a nice hotel you can stay in Kathmandu. It is clean. The food is various and nice. The staff is very nice. They even brought a birthday cake to my room which was a nice surprise for me in the evening on my birthday.
We stayed at Soaltee for 3 nights. Though the hotel is over 50 years old, the upkeep is pretty good. The rooms were comfortable, nothing to complain. Wish the room had more electrical sockets for charging. The breakfast spread was elaborate. As I'm from south India, the delicious dosa, Idli, uthappam and vada made me feel at home. Wish the hotel had something fancy or out of the box. Otherwise, we enjoyed the stay.
Everything was good. The reception staff, room cleaning staff, house keeping staff, Room service staff are very nice. Very clean rooms. But surrounding view from hotel room was not good at all. Was in room number 415. Food was not that spicy except for mutton curry.
