Marriott Karachi Hotel4.0 out of 5.0

Located in the city it has a high level of security around it which I found very reassuring. It has a marque which holds events if you get a room on this side of the hotel give up any chance of sleeping before the early hours of the morning. It has a pool and fitness room which are very good. Service was not what I exspected staff just did not seem interested in good service

I stayed here for a day and everything was perfect. From the concierge aslam to the waiters in Nadia (ahmed and akram). The service was amazing and would definitely recommend it. They're always there to welcome us and feel like we are at home
I have stayed at the Marriott in Karachi multiple times over the years and you can see earlier reviews about it too. As before, the best quality in this hotel that is head and shoulders above other places is the friendliness and personable staff who work here from the security team to the reception desk to the room service. Everyone ensures that you are welcomed, taken care of and comfortable. Even the business center has someone there who helps you. The Dum Phukt restaurant turns out great Mughali food which, if you have not had it before, is something you should deliberately make time to try. If you like slow cooking, you'll love it. My main reservation with the Marriott is that it still comes across as a large corporate hotel without much customisation or character that tells you that you're in Karachi or Pakistan. My personal preference is to stay in boutique hotels so it could be that I am looking for character which is lost or absent in large hotels. If you were blindfolded and taken to this hotel, I don't think you would know you were in Pakistan or even South Asia for that matter. It's a shame. Most travelers here are business travelers, that's clear from the breakfast buffet in the morning (which is a good breakfast buffet especially for business travelers). I sense it is a hotel designed for 'in and out' business travelers that prioritizes efficiency over personality. That said, there is nothing wrong with the Marriott. Perfectly comfortable, very pleasant, good rooms with fast wifi, hot showers and relatively quiet. Generous facilities and popular during wedding season. If you are here for a personal trip, I recommend looking somewhere else if you want to get a more intimate feel of Pakistani culture.
I am a regular visitor of Karachi and always prefer staying at Marriott for its extraordinarily caring staff at its restaurants and housekeeping who make you feel at home. The food at all its three restaurants is great. A wonderful Gym complex helps you burn the extra calorie intake.
We stay at Karachi Marriott every time we visit Karachi and we get blown away with the outstanding service they provide each time. We just finished our latest stay and based on the experience felt compelled to write a review. Some standouts below: Reservations - Was in touch with their local reservations few months prior to arrival to ensure the room requests will be honored by their reservation dept. (Sarah Soloman) was always responsive and took care of every request we had. I have a family and had booked 2 rooms and was really concerned that we won't get connecting rooms. She took care of it before we checked in and put our minds at ease. - Front Desk/Reception - Our stay was for 24 days so we had various requests/questions throughout our stay and they handled it patiently and professionally every time. (Kazi Sherif) was outstanding during our stay. - Restaurants/Room Service - Nadia Coffee Shop was our favorite place for meals. Vijay (Manager), Akram, Umer, Tariq and Imran were always attentive and over time, understood our needs and would cater to us without even us requesting certain things it at times. Great service! Overall, best place to stay in Karachi and we cannot think of any other hotel to stay during our visit to Karachi and these people and their service are a testament to that. Last thing... I still cannot believe that the door man (forgot his name - The tall one) greeted me at the door by my name when we checked in, even though I was returning after almost 7 months. Amazing!!!
I stayed in Marriott Karachi for 2 weeks and had a splendid experience. Room was nice and clean. Staff were very friendly, food was really good and overall ambiance was amazing. I would like to mention a few people who I would love to meet again: 1) Aadil Malik, for his professional people management skills for handling the matters specially when you complain about something. He handled the people really well when we were complaining about the noise coming from an event late at night (2AM) and I was struggling to sleep. He offered to swap my room and even offered me a drink to calm down. 2) Sheheryar Shah and Mariyam at Nadia restaurant. These two amazing people would make my day with beautiful smiling welcome at breakfast table. 3) I will never forget the Mr Khalid for his fresh coffee that he would serve me at Nadia restaurant.
Thanks to Mr Vijay Kumar for the hospitality Must go Breakfast Brunch We visit regularly Music Ambiance Everything best Hi tea especially is good Good for family get together. Food quality has improved Excellent
Most important thing in my rating is staff. They are really courteous, well mannered, show concern, and talk with the customers with a personal touch not like those people sitting on a 24/7 helpline. Starting from Entrance the staff is welcoming and smiling. The doormen, bellboys, house keeping service, breakfast team at Nadia, Dumpukht, Suzi wong everywhere they have friendly people. Food is good. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Speedy Wifi. Nice and neat bathroom. Now not so good points. I am missing cut mangoes this week. How can you be in Pakistan in Mango season and not to have Mangoes in breakfast. Had some issue at the time of reservation. Had emailed to Mariott team but that was not answered promptly and had to call them twice or thrice to expedite. This should not have been the case. The dear lady singer at Dumpukht is not good. Do you really need a singer over there, when you can also hear the male singer down there at Nadia. And above all most of the times its meetings and talking and get togethers. For me the live music in restaurants is useless, unless it is of very high calibre and specialty of house. Also when staying at pool side rooms, the musical nights/ weddings going on there create discomfort.
The spacious deluxe room was overlooking the Frere Hall. Perfect air conditioning but we had to get the bedding set changed as it had some stains. The housekeeping was swift and excellent. the toilet was spacious and very clean. The front desk is slow but oblige when alerted of their duties towards the guests. They need to get polished Secure rent a car service is available with courteous and friendly driver. The breakfast restaurant staff is slow but all are very courteous. Each portion of food served in room service is large enough for three people.
