This is perhaps the best thing about the hotel, being situated in an area where virtually everything that one needs is here--from convenience stores, to walkable subway stations, museums, the port, the film archive, to bars and restaurants and even stores and cafes of all kinds. As for the accommodations, the lobby has a sense of grandness to it and has an ascetic quality, perhaps because of its largeness. While some of the hallways seem to evoke a bit of "The Shining" perhaps because of their dated quality, the standard rooms are very nice for the quoted price--queen-sized bed and comfortable linens, complete toiletries, and large windows. However, it takes a while to get the hang regarding which switches correspond to which lights. The choices for the breakfast menu may have certain variety every now and then, but overall, they have generous servings. Having stayed three nights, the staff are efficient in their cleaning duties and their security and the people at the front desk as well as the restaurants are always gracious in providing information and assistance.
The location is very convenient . Around 10 mins walking distance to MRT station . There are many restaurants and bars around the hotel . Staffs are very friendly, The lobby is gorgeous, but the furniture in the room is quite old fashion style .
Stayed there for two nights. The room I stayed was a little small with double side bed, 32 inch TV, desk, chairs.. Wi-Fi was connected easily. The bath room was small too. Overall furniture were very old, except carpet looks new. The room key is metal with plastic, so you need to return to front desk when you go out.
This was THE hotel in town when I was a high school kid (40 years ago). People seem to forget about this hidden gems. It is a smaller hotel, but it is still nicely maintained. The foods are still in high standard. The clientele is still classic (Occassionally you will see some Chinese tourists and they are just as good people as you and me who want to have a good trip). Just look at the price, you could not possibly beat it. I know that many people are looking for newer and bigger establishments in this part of island. Isn't that also true that many good hotels have been around for a very long time in other part of world.
It is a not expensive but decent hotel very well located near the river the rooms are small but clean and with all the necessary comforts. For sure is not a modern accommodation and from some details your can say that it needs renovation. I would say that it is a very good choice either for business trip or vacation especially if your plans are based on a medium budget.
Typical mid-class tourist hotel. Nothing special. Hotel needs renovation although the room was alright. Bed is good, slept very well. Bathroom clean enough. Use of WiFi functioned correctly. Service at desk also satisfying. Breakfast OK. Not typical western, but for me no problem. Just tried the Taiwan breakfast.
The hotel is very old ,we a touch of renovation. Rooms below the acceptable , noisy especially the rooms in front of the elevators . I changed 1 time room until find a acceptable one. Food nothing special
I had stayed in the hotel for two days from 06 to 08 August. I had travelled over 50 countries and stayed over 150 hotels due to business. The hotel was very old and had old furnitures. Cleanliness standard was fair and breakfast was poor (nothing to eat... The cereal was only available for foreigner). < Weak Points > 1. Very noisy, there was no soundproof window fitted. I was waked up 5AM though I could be slept 2 AM. 2. There was much dust in the room. No good bed and was very old. 3. Molds in Aircon. 4. Fxxx Coin Washer (drum washer) - I used but my underwear was ruined. There was a big drain hole and my pants war caught when it was drained and got damaged when it was spinned. 5. Expensive breakfast but there was nothing for foreigner. 6. Weak WiFi. Front desk staffs were very kind. But they were not good at speaking in English. There was only one english staff, Ms. Hannah, available. After checking out this hotel, I stayed one night more at Fullon Hotel Kaohsiung which was located on other side of Hotel Kingdom. The hotel was wonderful which was good price. Fullon Hotel was about 10% more expensive than Hotel Kingdom.
For a Kaohsiung qualifications most senior, and has a four-star hotel, the attitude of all the staff I affirmed, but for Reception events and crisis management capabilities, but I can only give zero. I stayed this hotel with my mother and grandfather. They and I were satisfied with room and the location. Clean room and bath room. But, other triper were not good, they were loud and breach of manners.
