I stay at this place while attending our organization's annual event. Rooms are very comfortable and relieved. Some public facilities are also fun. There is a smoking room, important for me who still have bad habits, smoking.
I've been there already several times and usually for Business (but also private) and i really enjoy to stay in this outstanding Hotel. The Lobby is somewhere in Floor 39 and from there upwards the Hotel starts. The breakfast is located in a unique room with Sea view window, really something special. Be careful while booking as there are big price differences btw. the travel agents as well as direct booking.
The hotel is located in the highest building in Kaohsiung, so I have a great view of the harbour and city. It is dated and the design and layout seems to be from an earlier era. Otherwise no complaints.
I arrived by taxi and booked in OK. The reservation was clear and I was booked in for 4 nights. However, due to a change in business appointments, I had to book out after 3 nights but still had to pay for the full 4 nights. Considering that the hotel appeared to be fairly empty of guests, I think that a bit of leniency would have been more appropriate.
The hotel is designed interestingly. Some say it's a Chinese character means tall or high, though I'm not Chinese. The hotel is probably the tallest building in Kaohsiung, so you can spot it everywhere, hard to get lost. I was lucky in the high floor, so the room comes with the spectacular ship of the bay and the city. The room is decorated very luxury. Since the lobby is on 39th floor, so guests have to use two sets of elevator. The roof top is available for observatory of the city, but with fee. I also enjoy the fitness center, which is very large and fully equipped. Lap pool is available for guest. I mentioned the location is great because it was right next to the Convention center in walk able distance, where I have meeting. Many spots of tourist attraction is nearby such as, at night you can go to Liuhe night market for just one MRT stop, You can go shopping at Dream mall for two tram stops, or for domestic shopping to IKEA or Carrefour. Surrounded area of the hotel is decorated with street side food vendors. You can enjoy the great cultural experience, along with fancy hotel. Last thing to mention, I found that the breakfast buffet at the hotel is mediocre, with not many interesting selections. I'd rather enjoy local street food in some other meal.
Service was very good, the staff tried their best and were always polite and considerate but the system was a bit chaotic around the time of the conference when the hotel was full but i suppose that's to be expected The rooms were quite nice and view magnificent but i suggest asking for a room not next to the noisy lift. The only bad feature was the breakfast - not worth going to. lots of choice but all very basic and no quality. Big like a big dining room.
This hotel is tired. It was so disappointing, given the height of the building an the panoramic views it affords. The rooms are in desperate need of a face lift. The hotel has good bones and the potential is there to easily make this a legitimate 5 star hotel, but it falls short. Avoid rooms next to the elevators as they make a great deal of noise. I had to request another room after first being assigned to a room next to the elevator. The breakfast options are there, but they aren't presented in an attractive or inspiring manner.
Its only attraction is height as most guest rooms are from 40th floor up so good views. It is ten minutes walk to Sogo and Shin Kong Mitsukoshi but other than that it is not really near tourist attractions such as night markets or Cijin Island ferry terminal. The bedroom was spacious but with very dated design. The switches for the lights were on the desk and bedside phones. Took me a long time to locate. The buffet breakfast was not worth paying for as the quality was average to poor even though the spread was big. The gym was big but equipment was very old. People seemed to enjoy running in the dark in the gym. On Booking.com it was rated 5 stars but 4 stars on TripAdvisor more realistic.
Impesionant the hotel where we stayed. The reception is on the floor 39. We stayed at floor 61 and to which we had in the room was quite impressive. At breakfast and lunch we had the most interesting and varied menu with Asian specialties. Services were spotless, staff, it is admirable, the rooms are spacious and cleanliness is impeccable. The bathroom has several divisions of glass, and is the size of a 3-star hotel room! Asian best experience! A minus, quite far from the metro station
Stayed here one night for business purposes. Very nice hotel, with check in on floor 39 strangely enough. Friendly staff, food. The room was large and bathroom luxury. The view from my room at floor 59 was amazing.
