85 Sky Tower Hotel

We just checked in yesterday, the hotel definitely has been gone down the hill a little. Service is good, and always have been good. The interior of the rooms though really needs a lot of improvements. I found a lot of scratches, the TV is a joke for a 5 star property.

After Taipei 101, I wanted to experience being on the viewing 75th floor of this building too. It isn’t far from the Sanduo Shopping District Station of the MRT. It didn’t disappoint me. The view of Kaohsiung at night was magical.

Pretty weird arrangement with a multitude of hotel operators gathered around the 12th floor. Our operator was very difficult to find as they did not post their name outside the office. (pretty basic stuff, huh?) Room was ok but would not be in a hurry to go back. Cheap accommodations.

At 85 storeys, its the tallest building in Kaohsiung. Partly office, business suites n hotel. We were given rooms at level 21 which has a good view of either the city or sea/harbour front. Hotel lobby is at level 12. The rooms look nice and spacious. However the bed was not comfortable to sleep on, rooms not tidied properly. Ants running all over. The bathroom was wary too small n cramped. Can hardly turn your body in the shower. Reception staff not friendly. Because its the tallest building in town, I feel it's been over-rated.

K first off we had checking a time finding the entrance to this place!! It is actually on the 39th floor. When we walked thru the jewelry section on the ground floor there was a musky funky smell, fortunately this did not carry up to the 39th floor. The lobby is very basic. The staff were courteous but not overly friendly. English was passable. We asked for some info in English which they could not find. The elevators and hallways were very nice. The room was very nice too. Comfy bed, nice big tub, great view (67th floor!!). But nothing exceptional....for the price! Free complimentary mini bar....which consisted of one coke and one bottle of water. THe morning breakfast was pretty terrible. Dried out and cold. Dumplings were crunchy....very Taiwanese.....which is ok if its good....which it wasn't. Would not eat there if it wasn't included. Gym and pool very nice.

Stayed here for 2 nights for my conference held in Kaohsuing. We were supposed to have been upgraded from our booking room - we were placed on the 66th floor. Which had a great view. What was not so great was that we were in a room near the escalator, so could hear the escalator most of the day which thankfully died die later at night. The room was reasonable and relatively large. The bed could have been slightly more comfortable but sufficient. Would i stay here again? Sure, but its not what i would call great value for money.

Nice place and great views! If you visiting Kaohsiung for the first time it would be a nice stop over to see a great view of the harbor although it is not a stunning site. It allows for some photo ops of the city if you get a higher suite. The room is nice and cozy and clean but the buffet is not what I expected from such a popular hotel. A few western Items would be nice and would add to the international feel if that is what the management is going for. It is a novelty stay to say that you did it and slept in such a hotel tower.

Didn’t expect the hotel would upgraded us to executive room, it was great experience. View is nice tho a bit foggy during the morning. The hotel might be a bit expensive but trust me, it is worth it. And the transportation is continent as well. Especially, the receptionist is friendly. There is a man who I think is supervisor, he is really willing to help when you have some problems. If you ever come to travel for vacation, choose this hotel! You would have an awesome memories!

I stayed the hotel for just one night, but was a great stay. The staff were very professional and attentive, the room was big. Had tea and coffees with a couple of friends at the cafe, nice drinks and great view! The only thing Concerned me was the breakfast, many options, but it was bit crowded at the morning when I was having breakfast !

We had just finished 4 days of bike riding on the east coast of Taiwan, then bused over from Pintung. We grabbed a quick dinner, then were shuttled to the hotel. The tallest building in Kaosiung, and formerly the tallest in Taiwan, this is a great building to stay in. You take an elevator up to floor 39, which is the lobby, shops, bar, and dining. Rooms are upstairs. Our group was between floors 60-69. The rooms were very nice, very comfortable, and super clean. Bed was great! View was stunning. I would stay again in a heartbeat. Had breakfast at the massive buffet was awesome. Continental cuisine, American, Japanese, and Chinese. Something for everyone.
