Hotel with A good location in the center of the city. Nice rooms, (too)soft beds, helpful staff and good clearing service. But... the breakfast was really bad including instant coffe, bitter juice from juicebar and noisy. So if you don't like melted butter on your sandwich i wouldn't go there.
It's was my first time to visit the hotel, it's was very nice and lovely, I will love to visit again and again, and will recommend the hotel to all my friends and family, all the same it's was last weekend in first hotel in kalmar
The small rooms are tiny. No proper curtains on blackout so you will be woken by the sun. Good breakfast and location - but oh, those rooms. They offered an upgrade but at a price - if you are in the service industry and want good reviews then you need to offer more than the bare minimum
The pool area was not of the quality of the rest of the hotel. Now I remembered: the first arrival day, I was really happy to get a recommendation at the desk for a nice Asian restaurant at the square. Food was good and I enjoyed their services twice. Second time with a colleague. This kind of experiences increase the hotel experience as well. Thanks for the lady at the reception.
Nice and central in Kalmar . Seem to be a hotel with class and history. But a bit old and littel frayed. But also seem to be one of the better hotel in the city and nice with the pool and sauna. Maybe stay again
Good location but a bit high rate considering the size and standard of the room. Breakfast was okay, but simple compared to international standard. Did only meet one lady in the staff, the receptionist, and she was very nice.
Very small room with almost no light. That the hotel would need some renovation is well visible on the floor carpet in the corridor and the locks, both are from the last century. The room itself was clean and calm so when you find your bed in the dark and don't want to read then you might be fine. The locks in general are a challenge. The ones in the Spa are not easy to open to get in and once you are in it can be a challenge to get out again. I really hope there is not once a person in panic in there - it might get to be a problem! Michael
We arrived around 8:30 PM a friday night, tired and hungry after a long ride and eager to just have a meal and a drink before going to bed but got the information that the restaurant and bar was closed this weekend. The hotel didn't have any beers or other drinks in the minibar and couldn't even sell it in the reception. I have never heard about such stupidity before. They refered to the regulations about one can't serve alcohol when there's no food served due to Swedish law, but I have stayd in many hotels in Sweden without restaurant and bar and still been able to buy beer, wine, soda and late night snacks either from the reception or the minibar in the room. In addition to this ridiculous thing the room was impersonal and worned out. The booking page said this was supposed to be a 4-star hotel. It was more like a 2-star. Only positive thing to say is that the beds and the bedspreads was really nice and you can sleep well. Other than that – not worth it.
The rooms are very small and unorganized, Walls crawled upon me all night and trying to sleep was just a long nights terror. The halls to the rooms were long, small and maze like. I willl not go here again.
I thought the other feedback where harsh, but was I mistaken. Book something else, anything else in Kalmar is better, really !!! I know, I stayed in most of the other hotels. very worn down, dirty, bad breakfast, expensive, old. AVOID
