We arrived late on 25 September 2017, weary from a long train trip. We got the key from reception and walked through the door into a dirty room. There were dirty towels on the floor and the bed was unmade. Even though it was midnight, we turned around and went back to the desk. We were given a different key. This time the room had been made up. The breakfast was okay but not great. The one shining light in our experience was the Prime West Grill. We had a delicious meal and that made up for a lot. The other noteworthy positive comment about the hotels are the landscaped gardens with trees in which many amazing songbirds live. They start singing at about 4:30AM, but their songs are so beautiful I don't mind. The hotel is the best in town and needs a bit of good management to upgrade the service and rooms.
Worst hotel I've been until now. Housekeeping needs mayor upgrade. Bathroom was "clean" but only if you don't have a good look. Carpet full of stains. Brekkie selection if u can call it a selection is terrible. Staff omg completely not interested in you as a guest.
A comfortable if tightly packed hotel squeezed within the town’s grid system. It's about 5 blocks from the Main Street in a residential area, but that's fine - most folk would drive to almost everything anyway. It has a pool and a restaurant. There is a lot of greenery between bedroom blocks and the main building, with resulting birdsong. The parking is behind a security gate. We noticed that the supermarkets in town also have security guards. The rooms at the hotel are nice and good size. There is free wifi. Some days after our stay in Kal we heard that it is known for its problem with crime, related to a great degree to the level of (un)employment in mining operations. Hence the security barrier and armed guards in shops. We liked Kal and it wouldn't stop us from recommending it to other folk who want to see this corner of the country, but just take care.
Friendly staff, easy check in, clean rooms, nice pool area, and most importantly for me, it had a hotel laundry. The food in the hotel restaurant was nice, and I enjoyed my few nights stay. Secure parking behind a large locked gate as well.
The hotel has a good layout of rooms, nice gardens and great facilities with friendly & helpful staff. Only downside was small things about the room; worn broken toilet fixtures, stains on the carpet and very scare toiletries / coffee & tea provisions were disappointing for a four night stay - I did decline room servicing as part of the hotels environmental program but basics were scarce on arrival. Would stay at this oasis again though, enjoyed my visit.
If you are staying in Kalgooorlie then this is the best place to stay. Staff very friendly. Room was basic and clean with a microwave. And the bathroom was fab, with a jacuzzi bath 😍 Definetly enjoyed staying here! Coffee not available during the day as the restaurant wasn't open until dinner.
We are regular travelers to Kalgoorlie and will stay at no other hotel than the Rydges Resort and Spa. The staff are amazing and the rooms are top quality. As it is the only 4.5 star hotel in Kalgoorlie it definitely outshines and out classes any other accommodation in Kalgoorlie in my opinion. The buffet breakfast is good value and they also they have a new evening menu, to which I can highly recommended to start with a tasting plate for 2 and then having one of their mouth watering steaks cooked to perfection. Once again we have not been disappointed with our current stay, thank you Rydges
This is a modern up to date resort well maintained and at affordable reasonable rates. The rooms are spacious, clean and well furnished with huge bathrooms. The king single beds were a bit on the soft side and we didn't have a good nights sleep. We had a room with a garden setting and it was lovely and quiet, an oasis from the outside world. Breakfasts were free for seniors which was a lovely surprise. It was a full breakfast and was delicious with a good selection. Security for our vehicle was very good within a closed compound with coded entry and parked outside our front door.
I slept really well at Rydges, thanks to their amazing bed, expansive and comfortable. Outside, tiny birds tweeted a welcome to country in the dawn chorus. The hotel grounds are landscaped with local vegetation, perfect for the insect-catchers/honey-eaters. The hotel offers fine dining in a restaurant/grill. The chef was quite understanding and let me order the child's portions. The porterhouse steak with fries and salad was great, as was the battered fish and chips with salad. Full marks for this food - totally appropriate for a senior, though badged as a child's portion.
Haven't stayed her in a while, they accommodated an early checkin for me and an upgraded spa suit... refurbished room with a view over the pool... good secure parking and all the amenities you could need, fairly standard hot and cold breakfast that was tasty..... all in all enjoyable and will return
