Great rooms, delicious food and everything you can ask for. Really enjoyed the big spa in the rooms, big pleasure after a long day of work. Restaurant is doing a great job. Obviously not for traveling on a budget.
Enjoyed my stay here but it was literally only a bed for the night. The staff are friendly and the bar is great. Only drank there so can't comment on evening meals. The rooms are comfortable and well presented. Had a great undisturbed sleep. Buffet brekky in the morning, which was plentiful and delicious.
I have stayed here several times over several years and perhaps a few years ago it may have been 4.5 stars. Rydges Kalgoorlie certainly is dropping the ball and the condition of the rooms makes you wonder if they are spending anything on maintenance. Rusted away door frames, swollen skirting boards, sun torn curtains, bleach stained carpets, water stained ceiling, unusual stains on the couch, mixed matched chairs, holes in doors, odours that melt your nostril hairs and rough patches of paint all included in this 4.5 star paradise. Even as you walk through the grounds you can see some front doors of the rooms painted in patches. Hardly 4.5 star finishes. Unfortunately I could only upload 10 pictures and thankfully for you I could not upload the smell. I've stayed in some dodgey places and some grand palaces but I can't remember staying in 4.5 stars of degredation. I had booked a "guaranteed" suite months ago but instead Rydges gave the room away. I was given an adjoining standard room at the front of the premises which overlooks the cars doing burnouts on Davidson Street and directly above the restaurant. The front door of reception is directly under room 29 and the door constantly opens and closes at all hours sounding like a distant thunder storm. I feel as if I should have brought my tools and paint to renovate but a long weekend would not be long enough. If Kalgoorlie was not full I would certainly go elsewhere which is disappointing considering my previous reviews and experiences here. On the positive side, the coffee in the restaurant is good. So perhaps drop in for a coffee and forego the accommodation. Reconsider staying at Rydges Kalgoorlie as this quality is more 3 star and there is more 3 star accommodation in Kalgoorlie to choose from at lower price points.
I have stayed at Rydges for some time, one outstanding front desk faces is Jess, always willing to help out with advice and support to all guests. Jess has a can do attitude with a smile ready to greet newly arrivals. A refreshing Front Face of Rydges Kalgoorlie.
I have now been staying at Rydges kalgoorlie for business for, nearly 9 years, yes the rooms are now looking a little tired, and would love to see some new towels. I however love so many things about this hotel. I love the fact the give you the green option, where you can save $10 a night on a 2 or more day stay ... Save the environment and treat yourself to a glass of wine or beverage on the saving. Love the new grill menu .. The kebab is just fabulous. A very big part of why I love this hotel so much is the the staff. They make me feel, like its my home away from home. Renae, you are the amazing. Jess, I so look forward to arriving, so you can check me in and make sure everything is perfect, this is what you do best and do it with absolute professionalism and with a huge big smile even if you are under pressure. Lorraine, love the coffee in the mornings, and you keep the restaurant running ... To all the other staff,,you too are amazing , it's all of you that makes every stay memorable, very time Thank you Rydges Kalgoorlie.
I was shown into a disgustingly filthy room at Rydges, that had not been made up when I arrived just before 7pm this evening, The attitude of Jess, the receptionist, both before and after I told her about the room debacle was disgracefully unprofessional and downright nasty. When I was checking in, I asked if my dinner booking which I'd requested by email was confirmed, and she just shrugged aggressively and said she couldn't tell me. I guess calling the restaurant extension was too much trouble for her. There was no booking when I did go to the restaurant. One restaurant staff member told me I could not get a table for an hour, albeit my telling her about my email re dinner booking. When I ordered a drink at the bar, and told about my horrible reception experience, a courteous young man told me he would arrange a table and did so in ten minutes ( the only positive). When I told Jess ( who seriously needs training) about the filthy room debacle by phone, after dragging my two bags up a flight of stairs, she gave me no apology. In fact, she pretended she didn't know who I was, although I gave her my room number and name, and had been at reception just a few minutes earlier. When I went back to reception, to obtain a new room, her attitude was equally dismissive and unprofessional. Appalling service! I've now been moved to another room that is very scruffy, with a really badly stained carpet... These people have no clue about customer service. This is NOT a four star hotel... This is a business trip and I expected my hotel stay to be stress free.
WE stayed in a Deluxe King room. Very nice spacious room and well fitted. Very comfortable bed. Bathroom large and marble tiled with spa. What a shame it is not done right for such a beautiful bathroom. Light over mirror in wrong location to actually see in the mirror. No magnifying mirror. Worst feature though is substandard towels..a good size but thin and rough. No light on desk and no waste paper bin at desk. Parking good with security gate and front office staff good.
We tried to dinner at Rydges restaurant,. and it was Fantastic great ambience, nice tables and chairs. Very nice and cleaned. Staff were friendly, good customer service . they look after you, its a bit expensive but doesn't matter as long as I enjoyed my meal, I had a my Steak cook well done served with steam vegies and a side of mushroom sauce. My partner had a vegetarian pizza. We enjoyed it, probably we will come back
the 2 bedroom adjoin apartments very clean, comfortable with a relaxing view to the pool. ground floor access for those that have lots of luggage . Rene, Paula and the team very helpful and supportive .a great way to relax before a busy week ahead . Hospitality staff warm and friendly. A great Place to stay.
Stayed here a few times for a week at a time Clean rooms but a bit dark inside and can't get fresh air in to some rooms, some have balcony, some the sliding door won't open and all rooms smell a bit stale I thought Plenty of parking Dinner is pretty good, slightly pricey though Breakfast-go somewhere else, I never do hotel breakfast but time poor one day and tried it, Terrible......... Nothing fresh, hot breakfast in pans on stove burning, cook popped out once to turn everything over as burning in pans, everything bad, totally yucky. Bar prices expensive They shut the bar pretty early unless a big crowd around, so get some drinks for late finishes and keep in your tiny fridge in your room. Rooms all have a spa bath, only tried to use mine once-yep-it didn't work. Overall, clean, room size is good, any smaller be no good. Beds great to sleep on Best suited for work/business stays I wouldn't like to use this place if on a holiday as dark and dull rooms, but if only for sleeping, perfectly suitable.
