I stayed here for a week-long conference nearby. I have three complaints: 1) visitors must walk through the "smoker's lounge" outside the front door, as the hotel has placed a bench there for smokers to use (and they do!); 2) the eggs at the breakfast buffet are usually runny (I've stayed here a few times) - I prefer to have my scrambled eggs somewhat firm; 3) the pillows can be a bit lumpy, though pushing them up against the top of the bed helped to make them firm enough to sleep on. Given that, the beds are always comfortable, and the rooms have another comforter to use (in the wardrobe) in case you need one. My room had a small shower, but had an attached-to-the-wall hair dryer to use. The linens were crisp and fresh, so no complaints there! Each room is equipped with a TV, though I didn't use it. (There's an Irish Pub across the street that has a pool table, if you want to do something better with your spare time than to watch TV.) Dinner at the hotel restaurant is quite good, albeit somewhat expensive. Parking is ample, even though you may need to park across the street. The hotel staff is always friendly, and speaks good English. (BTW, you can use the same VAT form for more than one stay! Just have them hold onto it.)
spent one night ... lots of parking, good breakfast and dinner was fantastic. Employees were friendly and helpful. Only negative was that I could hear people above me moving furniture around, and the traffic on the road in early morning hours
This is a great base to explore the Rhineland-Paltinate and the nearby wine growing areas of the Rhineland Pfalz. The hotel is situated close to an autobahn junction for convenient access but far enough away not to hear the traffic.
I am a little conflicted as I write this review. This visit was mostly good, but a bit of a mixed-bag experience. The family suite was clean and spacious, and decorated in pink, white, and peacock-upholstered furnishings 😄 We were advised during check-in that we should upgrade to the suite from the regular family room to avoid street noise as much as possible. It worked--I was able to sleep fairly well. The breakfast was great. The hotel reception staff upon arrival and departure was attentive and helpful. During our stay, though, one young woman at the front desk refused to help when I tried to make another reservation for a single room in two weeks, stating that there was no availability, when TripAdvisor and other sites stated that there were multiple rooms open during my upcoming trip. I understand technical glitches, but she was rather dismissive. I then asked her if maintenance could clear the shower and tub drains--they were very slow (from the first shower, I was standing in a few inches of dirty water.) She kind-of waved me off. The drains were never cleared. My daughter found past guests' dirty clothes under her bed when we were getting our things together, which was odd, considering that the room was otherwise very clean. I went ahead and made a reservation at another local hotel for my next stay. I'll have a better frame of reference after that.
This hotel was recommended to me by the US Army unit at Sembach Kaserne where I was working for two weeks on temporary duty and it turned out to be the perfect place. Less than 15 minutes from Sembach, but also close to other posts in the Kaiserslautern Military Community. Easy access to the highway for trips to Landstuhl or Ramstein. Very comfortable accommodations with a balcony, good TV, decent wireless Internet, and a terrific restaurant -- great German food and biergarten. Less than 3 miles to downtown K-Town -- I took a nice run downtown to explore the beer scene one Saturday. The staff is very nice and professional. Of course, English was spoken, but they were kindly receptive to my efforts to speak terrible German. I will definitely stay here again, if I get the chance.
I have frequented this hotel off and on since the mid 1980"s. Each time I come back the stay and my experience is even better than the last. The staff is friendly, the rooms are very clean and updated regularly while maintaining that old German atmosphere. The owner is an amazing person who talks to all his guests and gets to know you and your family. The restaurant and the breakfast are the best in Kaiserslautern area. I would recommend this for anyone who wants a great expedience and a reasonable rate.
The hotel is located on the outskirts of Kaiserslautern. The family room we had was extremely large, probably the size of a small apartment. If you're looking for room, this would be the place for you. However, the décor was just awful. The tile floor was ugly. The mint green bathroom, although spacious, was also quite ugly. The lace curtains might have been popular 40-60 years ago, but really need to go. That being said, the quality of construction was very good, it just needs a face lift and brought into the 21st century.
This hotel exceeded my expectations. Close to the motorway and plenty of parking available. The room was clean and spacious. The restaurant serves excellent dishes! Overall it was a good stay without any major complaints. Thank you!
Going on a business trip to Kaiserslautern, I've chosen this hotel. The location is good - the place is quiet, the room is excellent, breakfast is quite good. There are two restaurants in the neighborhood, besides the one onsite. For me, the main quality indicator is clean and calm atmosphere. An excellent choice for a business trip.
Had an excellent overnight stay on a motorcycle tour. Hotel seems quite popular with bikers. Room was large and well equipped including a TV channels in English and a kettle to make hot drinks, always appreciated. Dinner and breakfast were good.
