We loved our stay at Kona Westwind! The unit is laid out very nicely, the view is spectacular, and the proximity to town is great (easy drive). Very little road noise.
Hints: *bring suction grab bars for the tub if you have an unsteady guest.
*The hill next to the unit is a cul-de-sac, so it's easy to drive up, park and unload (people and luggage), then swing down to park. Otherwise, it's a long, steep set of concrete stairs.
*Parking is verrrry tight. Don't rent a big rig (we had a Chevy Impala and it was almost too big.)
*Curtains don't block light in the master; if you're sensitive, bring a sleep mask.
The unit is next to the walkway to the pool, but for our stay, very few people passed by. It felt like a lovely, private getaway! The property managers are responsive. If we return, we would definitely book this condo again.
(By the way, go north and take the Kona Sea Salt farm and the Hawaiian Vanilla farm tours!!!)
