We loved our stay, it had everything one could want: beautiful views, beach access, gorgeous pool, comfortable rooms, full kitchen, even board games and snorkeling gear. We stayed for a week and ate all meals at the Turtle Bay Resort, which had 5 restaurants and a convenience store. Foodland is just a 10 minute bus ride away.
BEACH: Awesome - wide, chill, right there. Gentle waves, great for surfing, sunsets, and snorkeling. Two restaurants right by the beach and a shady lawn for breaks.
SNORKELING: Early September, clear water half the time. Fewer fish than Shark's Cove, but still cool.
TRANSPORT: Bus 60 every 30 mins, 1.5 hrs from Waikiki. Uber and Lyft unreliable, except pre-booked.
DAILY TRIPS (all on Bus 60):
-Shark's Cove: Top snorkeling. Bring gear or rent nearby.
-Waimea Beach: Cliff jumping.
-Toa Luau: Fun, authentic.
-Kahuku Farm Tour: Great for kids. Good cafe.
-Kuilima Farm Tour: Quick but nice.
