Built before setbacks from the water were required, our condo is literally right on the ocean.This cozy 2 Bed/1 Bath home is perfect for families and offers breathtaking oceanfront views. Located at the low-density Maui Sands property, on the 2nd floor of a two-story, oceanfront building, it provides endless, stunning ocean vistas you can enjoy every day!

This west-facing, oceanfront unit is the ideal vacation home to share with your family and friends. As soon as you walk in the door, you'll feel as if you've stepped into another place and time. It has everything you need for a truly comfortable stay:

- Bedroom #1 - Queen bed

- Bedroom #2 - Two twin beds ( can be converted to a King)

- Living Room - Daybed/twin size

- Air Conditioning-split system, affording separate climate control for the living area and both bedrooms.

- Keypad door lock (no keys or cards to carry)

- Free strong WiFi, 45" smart TV, and standard cable.

- Telephone with free long-distance calls to the USA and Canada

- Fully equipped kitchen

- Beach gear ( usually left by previous guest, no guarantees!). We supply towels, beach chairs, and coolers. We recommend renting snorkel gear for best fit and hygiene.

- Portable Pack'N Play with extra sheets and a high chair available on request.

- Resident green sea turtles that you can watch from the lanai (we call the big guy"Ted")

- 2nd Floor, stair access only, in a 2-story building.

From our condo with a large west-facing private lanai, you have an unobstructed ocean view of neighboring islands of Lanai and Molokai, miles of open water, spectacular sunsets, sailboats, soft breezes, turtles, monk seals, dolphins, and ocean waves.
And whales! If you visit from mid-November to mid-April, you'll see the humpback whales that migrate to Hawaii to mate and calve! The Au'au Channel between Maui and Molokai is a favorite spot for the whales to hang out!

Experience "Vintage Hawaiian" charm at Maui Sands. The spacious living and dining area opens onto the lanai, providing space to stretch out, read, relax, watch the ocean, play games, or take in the spectacular sunsets every evening. The fully furnished kitchen includes a dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator/freezer (equipped with an ice maker!), and stove. You'll have plenty of seating for meals at the dining room table, at the kitchen bar, or on the lanai. We have tried to keep a vintage flavor, but for the more technically inclined, the unit is equipped with WiFi, a smart TV, and a keypad door lock (no keys to carry around).

The unit can sleep up to five (5) guests on beds. The main bedroom has a queen-size bed, the guest room has two twin beds, and the living room has a twin-size daybed. Six is the maximum number of guests allowed by Hawaii state health code.

In the bathroom, the vanity is separate from the water closet, making it more convenient for larger groups.

Stroll through three acres of lovingly tended, lush tropical gardens with plenty of grassy areas, tropical fruit trees, native plants, and room to play outdoors. The property has a black-bottom, sun-heated swimming pool, 3 BBQs, an ice machine, and a coin- or app-operated laundromat. There is a common lawn with chaise lounges and chairs overlooking the ocean, where guests and owners gather each night to watch the sunset while sipping their favorite beverage.

You are just steps away from snorkeling, surfing, scuba diving, ocean shore fishing, paddle boarding, wave jumping, or simply basking in the sun right in FRONT of our home. You can watch the kids play in the water from your lanai or the grassy strip along the beach. Bring your snorkeling gear, or rent from across the street. Discover the abundant sea life in the ocean waters right in front of our condo. More often than not, you'll get lucky and share the water with one of our resident green sea turtles.

For a change of pace, take a short walk north, and you'll find Honokowai Park with picnic tables, a jungle gym, shade trees, and a sandy beach. Your kids will love it. And sometimes you'll find a turtle basking on the beach. Stop on your way back for some appetizers at the Hispanic market, or BadAss Coffee to enjoy while you watch the sunset or browse through local shops for the perfect island-made jewelry, keepsake, or gift. If you're ambitious, you can pick up the boardwalk a few blocks south and walk 3 miles all the way to Black Rock and Kaanapali Beach. This lies along one of Maui's prettiest sugar sand beaches!

You will have a reserved off-street parking space for your car, included in your rental price, but you can easily walk to restaurants, shops, grocery stores, and a fish market. Maui Sands is located in West Maui on Lower Honoapiilani Road, between Kaanapali and Kapalua, a short drive or bus ride from world-class beaches, golf courses, and shopping at Whaler's Village. Bicycle and moped rentals are also available within walking distance.
