I had originally written this hotel off as a place to stay after reading some of the reviews from last year, but we found ourselves outside the place by accident really after finding two other places full or inaccessible on a very wet evening. Yes, the staff were a little informal, but they were pleasant and accommodating. We checked in with ease having been equipped with restaurant times etc and a menu written in English, German and French. The room was comfortable, clean and fresh. When we got to the restaurant for dinner it took a couple of minutes to be seated, but the place was pretty much full. We ordered pizzas, mainly because they were being cooked in front of us in the pizza oven and we had some "Maison frittes" on the side with a beer and some wine. The meal was served promptly and was delicious - the restaurant only emptying out at closing time. The menu focussed on pizzas and meat dishes but there were other options too, including a buffet. We slept well on comfy beds and the shower was clean and efficient. Breakfast was buffet style and there was plenty of good quality choice. Checkout was simpl and the cost for 2 including dinner and breakfast was 110 euros. I am glad we came across the Logis because it was a very enjoyable stay. There were lots of young people on the staff and they were all keen to please and were, as far as I could tell, well managed. Thank you Logis.
Having made a booking, and given my cc details, I arrived to a locked hotel. A notice saying the restaurant was shut. The ATM like machine on an external wall would not recognise my booking ref. A group of Dutch were in the same quandary. How can a hotel be shut at 6 on a Friday evening? Desperate!
Before this hotel changed from the Comfort Inn to its current owners it was a really good place to stay. I've been staying here for over 12 years but 2 years ago (2014) the service had gone down hill. I was shouted at by one of the staff for reasons best known to that staff member. Not a good start for the new management. Having avoided the hotel last year (2015) I thought give it another try. Mistake. Certain staff members went out of their way to make it difficult I feel because we were English, not because we spoke English but because we were English. The service is out of control here. If you want to feel unwelcome, get the worst rooms, be shouted at and have a thoroughly horrible stay then this is the place for you. If you want anything else then avoid this place and go somewhere where the the management care about the customer service. It's unlikely (despite its convenient location) I will ever stay here again.
We arrived, four ladies in a car, nine friends to arrive by motorbike. We checked in ok but after that it went downhill. The place seemed to be staffed by two or three young people who had a group friends in the outside bar, getting their attention was difficult and getting them to understand our drinks order well nigh impossible. I speak pretty good French but they pretended not to understand and smirked at one another. We eventually got our (wrong) drinks but were too fed up to send them back. When the bikers arrived we thought they may get some respect but that was a sad hope. Warm white wine after seven hours riding a motorcycle in very hot weather. No thanks. Don't go there .
Basic hotel, good food, very nice breakfast buffet. The price per night is quite cheap, but if you take all your meals, you could be surprised of the total price, but what did you expect. The rooms were tidy, and bathroom neat. unfortunatily there is no lift to the rooms.
I stayed 3 times at this hotel for business. Nothing wrong to say. Rooms with enough space for a couple. There are bigger rooms with space for up to 4 people. Bathroom correct with shower and hair dryer. Big flat TV on the wall. Breakfast with a wide variety of cold food. Just eggs to cook. I appreciate the expresso machine! Dinner under menu list with dishes of the day and an entrance and dessert buffet.
More the budget hotel but has everything you need if you want a clean, easy place for the night. Free parking and plenty of spaces, easy to find. UK it is similar to a Premier Inn. Attached restaurant had a good selection and was reasonably priced. Free Wi-Fi also available although if the hotel is busy the speed seemed very slow. Staff were also friendly and welcoming.
This is a good value hotel for a stopover. Nothing fancy really, just a simple room to sleep in and a (decent) shower. Breakfast seems somewhat expensive, but in the end we paid almost the same in a highway restaurant. Staff was friendly and helpful.
It is practical to stay in a hotel/motel where - after a long day on the road - you can eat decently at the in-house restaurant and then hit the hay without any trouble or additional driving. The Comfort Inn and Grill is just such a practical place. When you arrive, if you lack the energy to go into the town center, ask for the special Étape price - room, dinner and breakfast at an unbeatable discount (we paid 112 E for two persons). The restaurant has the atmosphere of a modern railway station, but the appetizer and dessert buffets are generous and the chicken with Vin Jaune / cream sauce I ordered as a main course tasted exactly like one of my Chicago mother's best recipes. Avoid ordering open red wine (en pichet) because it is served ice cold, straight from the refrigerator. Ask for a room in the back - away from the road and the Hotel's main entrance. Otherwise it can be loud.
Finding somewhere to stay on a Sunday in France can be a bit of a trick. Most places seem to close their restaurants on a Sunday night so the Comfort Hotel suited us for a quick stopover. Clean rooms, parking and pet friendly. The restaurant is a bit of a formula set up. Buffet starter and dessert but main courses well prepared and good quality. Inexperienced staff. I hope people dont have the corked bottle of wine that we sent back as I notice it was put back in the chiller.
