We loved Humble Halibut! We saw dozens of Bald Eagles during our stay and enjoyed watching the float planes take off and land in the channel. The property is updated and very comfortable. The hosts were available and friendly. The listing is very accurate. We would return!
This holiday home is enormous. The view is fantastic and everything you'll need is there. The bus stop is nearby our you can walk downtown. The communication with the owner is easy and fast respond is normal. We can highly recommend humble halibut......
We absolutely loved that they left binoculars on the window sill so we could watch the sea life. Besides abundance of cruise ships we watched a family of eagles one afternoon. It was amazing. Thank you for sharing your Juneau place. We’d stay there again!! For those considering Juneau, although there are Ubers and taxis and public transport, if you stay here, rent a car. It adds so much freedom!!
Everything was great - great location, newly remodeled, fully furnished kitchen, etc..., but the awesome view is the main selling point. We spent hours and hours just taking it in - the seaplanes landing, the clouds rolling by, the eagles flying by, the crows harassing the eagles, etc...
The layout with the big, wide windows really accentuates the view as well. You could sit on the balcony, but also lay in bed or lean back in the recliners in the living room.
It was a good location besides the view. A convenience store was just a few minutes walk away. The nearest coffee shop or restaurant was about a 20 minute walk away over the bridge (with a pedestrian walkway), and the main tourist drag downtown was about 30-35 minutes away. It was a very nice, scenic walk.
One of the advantages of the Juneau area (opposed to Anchorage area) is that pretty much everything is within a tighter radius of about a 20 or 30 minute drive - the glacier, tons of little beaches, tons of restaurants, all the excursions like whale watching, kayaking, etc...
The airport in Juneau is tiny and very easy to get in and out of.
We had an awesome trip and will be back.
